If youโve been watching any iPhone 16 teardowns, you may have noticed the new camera chassis on the base models
iirc this is the only component design that leaked ahead of launch, back in February 2024:
About the SE 4:
I still stand by what I said earlier, chassis based on iPhone 14 with USB-C, action button, OLED panel similar to the 14 w/ Face ID, early 2025 release.
macOS Sequoia will receive a new default wallpaper/screensaver: a video of a real-world forest (groundbreaking idea tbh)
Doesnโt seem like itโs in the developer betas yet tho
This pop-up message is quite interesting
Livability is an internal app that Apple's engineers use to manage development devices and feature flags. With it, you can enable in-development features and sensitive UI elements. The app itself is not present on release iOS though.
The camera module design is very similar to the one in the 15 Pro Max - itโs fairly easy to identify the area containing the โtetraprismโand related components.
Some new features we can expect to see with this yearโs operating systems ๐
If you have a tip or you want to reveal info about upcoming features - send a DM โ๏ธ
The recenty โleakedโ event invitations & promotional images are not real, that type of stuff generally doesnโt leak at all.
It would be easier to leak the phones themselves than get something like that.
Note:
If the Capture button somehow ends up being a Pro-exclusive (which it shouldnโt be), then itโs just another case of upselling.
The button itself was created with the entire 16 range in mind, and has appeared on base model iPhone 16 prototypes.
They also considered an iPhone 16 derivative for the Ghost project, but it doesnโt look like that led to anything, as far as I can tell.
The 14-type design, on the other hand, went thru multiple design variations. They tested five different camera bump designs for the backplate.
About iPhone Ultra - I still donโt think thatโs a thing, given that there is no fifth iPhone in the 16 range, no D95 or anything similar as far as Iโm aware.
If it ever does happen - itโll probably be just a rebrand for marketing purposes.
Expect this at WWDC next month, along with all the other improvements Iโve revealed so far.
Looks like Apple decided to play it safe today by saving new OS features for June.
According to a credible private account, Apple has started distributing VendorUI builds of iOS 18.
This article contains the basics on the different variants of iOS that exist (including VendorUI) - so itโs worth a read if you want to learn more about stuff like that.
Apple has allegedly stopped production of its FineWoven accessories, according to
@Kosutami_Ito
- the same person who worked with me to reveal the FineWoven band design hours ahead of release, back in September.๐
A new rumor claims that Apple has shut down the FineWoven production lines for good, possibly spelling the doom of the controversial accessory material. By

Looks like weโre not getting any additional software features or new wallpapers with iOS 18.0 / macOS 15.0
They are still in development โ updated every few hours but mainly for bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
Huge thanks to everyone who followed!๐
Just to explain - this is a professional account so you wonโt see any random opinions, drama etc. Will probably talk about upcoming devices / software here more than anything else.

Everything about the new GreyParrot Calculator for iPad and Mac.
Fun fact: The original version was actually created in September of 2023 - so they spent quite a lot of time on this thing.
Apple's native Calculator app is finally available on iPad in iPadOS 18, and with it come new UI elements and support for mathematical notation through the Math Notes feature.

Visual Intelligence is the improved AI-based visual search feature I wrote about a few months ago. At the time it wasnโt exactly clear what it was for.
Somehow I leaked that and the Capture button but didnโt quite make the connection between the two.
Two things Apple didn't rename ahead of launch:
The Clean Up tool - removes objects from photos via generative AI
Math Notes - allows you to type/write equations, and auto-complete them via AI.
These dummy units feature some of the things Iโve been talking about for the past few months - Capture Button + vertical camera design.
Interestingly, they also have the small Action Button, which is consistent with Proto2 designs I revealed back in January.
The only major feature missing from the retail units is Project Atlas.
The Action Button was originally supposed to mirror the hardware & features of the new โCamera Controlโ (AKA Capture button)
Apple killed it off early on though.

We actually have quite a lot of details about Web Eraser - we know what it looks like, how it works etc.
If Apple scraps it - we can point out what was removed, make some mock-ups, and explain why itโs missing.

Last-minute recap โ what to expect with the iPhone 16 range:
- Capacitive Capture button on all four models, w/ force sensor functionality
- A18 (t8140) chip across the whole range
- Base models: vertical camera alignment + Action button
- Pros: larger 6.3โ and 6.9โ sizes
Still canโt believe my article managed to kill off Web Eraser in its entirety - looks like publishers really didnโt like that one.
Kinda sucks tho, it was a nice content blocker.

Just to comment on the recent M4 MacBook Pro leak, it does seem plausible.
