Raw Video: Highway 70N in Hawkins County. This will be a long term road closure. TDOT Geotechnical Engineers are assessing the slope, which is considered to be unstable at this time.
We are getting a first look at the early morning slide that has closed Highway 70N in Hawkins County. According to emergency personnel, two vehicles were involved, one person taken to the hospital.
The new Buc-ee’s in Sevierville at I-40 Exit 407 is set to open on Monday, June 26. We expect heavy traffic in the area so please use extreme caution. This animation gives motorists a look at how to get to there.

There are at least ten commercial vehicles reported off the roads in our 24 county East Tennessee region. Black ice is possible especially overnight as temps drop near or below single digits.
Good news! I-640 in Knox County is now fully open to three lanes in each direction!
There will still be paving work on some ramps and shoulders, but that work will take place at night. Please an eye out for litter and moving crews working this week.
