Many @Pacers fans who watched the 2020 @NBA draft were disappointed their team didn't have a 1st-round pick. Little did they know they had 4 and other teams would handle the break-in process. Obi Toppin went 8th, Jalen Smith 10th, Tyrese Haliburton 12th and Aaron Nesmith 14th.

. @Darren_Collison was great to cover. Fans don't need to care about that, but he also was an underrated player w/ the Pacers. Leading the NBA in 3-point % and assist-to-turnover ratio two seasons ago was a major accomplishment.

I'm told @BoilerBall freshman Fletcher Loyer had an occasion to meet former Purdue All-American Rick Mount a few days ago. Mount give him a shooting tip - get off the ground when you shoot, not on your toes. Loyer had a career high 27 points tonight. Maybe not a coincidence.

Just got word that Jimmy Rayl, a.k.a. The Splendid Splinter, passed away this afternoon. He was Mr. Basketball in 1959, set a Big Ten scoring record with 56 points at IU and was an original Pacer. Helluva good guy. Nobody loved playing basketball more than him. Story coming soon.

Sorry to report the passing of Cleveland Harp, pictured on the right next to Hallie Bryant. Cleve worked for many seasons as an usher at Pacers games and was a familiar presence in the end zone. He was an Attucks graduate who played one season for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Really sad to see that @jakequery and @Schultz975 are no longer part of the local sports talk radio scene. They brought humor, heart and an IQ to the airwaves. Some smart radio executive will find a place for them.

Indy's pro teams have had their share of good luck lately. Like Josh McDaniels backing out of the Colts' coaching job, Paul George unexpectedly asking for a trade and Victor Oladipo getting injured. All three seemingly negative occurrences turned out to be huge positives.

The @Pacers have rarely swung a trade for a previous NBA all-star such as Pascal Siakam. Only ones I find are George McGinnis, Billy Knight, Mark Jackson, Chris Mullin and Peja Stojakovic.

Anyone still wondering if @StephensonLance is worth the "issues?" Finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two turnovers in 30 minutes. Good job defending LeBron, who hit 11-25 shots.
