I feel courageous today, so I publish a selfie from today. 💪Never before I had hair that is so easy to dry as my current hair... Not going out like this in public, but this is the person under the wig. 😇 Can’t wait for it to grow again, but first they will fall out anyway...

I still have to get used to my ‘new’ hair, but this is how I look now. I dare not show the result without wig (yet), but it’s nearly gone, my own hair. Cancer might take my freedom, my runs and my hair, but NOT my spirit! Gotta keep going!! 💪 (Tears are real sometimes though...)

Yo guys, guess what?? My good news of the day is that my tumors have gone after 4 sessions of chemo therapy! There are still some bad cells though, and at least 4 more chemo's to go, and radiotherapy for 5 weeks, but the very important first step is made! #proudofmyself 1/2

Nailed it! 4 Miles finished and no pain. 💪💪( And that is a victory itself because in my worst period, in september, I could not even run 4km without pain) And my hat was too warm so short-haired me ran it. 🙈

It is a happy day. My hospital check up went great. The blood was very good, there were no signs of things being wrong and the doctor told me to keep doing what I do: living life and enjoying my sports. I’m so very relieved! 😊🥰

I’m watching a bit of Dutch doubles Griekspoor/Stevens when a lady started talking to me. She asked me if I knew them, or if I’m here as a tennisfan. I asked her the same question… ‘I used to play here’ she replied. I had no idea who she was, until she showed her badge. 1/2

I got a phonecall from my work at the newspaper that I can stay home for the whole month of march, but they'll pay me the hours I was supposed to work this month. They want to protect me, since my resistance is still low. It feels good, cause I work freelance for them. #Covid_19

Je suis finisher! 🥳🏃‍♀️ 4:46:12! Not bad for someone who’s lungs apparently work at 88 percent. (At least that’s what the doctor told me who took my test) 4h30 is far away, but it’s still under 5h! Now a shower and a well deserved hot tea. 🏅🏅🏅

Once upon a time in June 2013, I watched a guy playing Q in Rosmalen. I liked what I saw, and asked for a picture tow days after, on Monday. That week, this same player won the title, making me happy with my brand new 🇫🇷 flag. Ten years later, I still love to see him play. 1/2

My doctor in hospital is a good person. I have permission to postpone my planned chemo from December 23rd, to December 30. This means, I can actually enjoy my Christmas without being rotten from a chemo. :-) Good news for sure. ;)

Today, exactly a year ago, I heard they thought I had cancer. The world stopped turning with one word: lymphoma. Now, august 6 2020, I’ve gone through it all and my first control will be next month. It was a rollercoaster year, but looking forward to the future now. 🤗

Tomorrow is THE day. My doctor will give me a phone call and hopefully we can finish the treatment officially soon. Fingers crossed that I will get a final scan to see that all the cancer is gone. 🙏 I went for a short run in the last rays of sunlight, to clear my head a bit. 💪

Hey my tweeps, guess what? I managed to cross a finish line today. My first marathon in 2,5 years again. My first 21 wens super well, and the second 21 much less because my knee bothered me with lots of pain. But I kept fighting and made it in 5:02:02. At least I did it again! 💪

Looks like I made it! In September I couldn’t even run 4 without pain in the lungs. Today, less than 4 months later, I ran 10km without pain. 💪 Still slow but it was tough on the beach with strong wind and cold weather.

Tomorrow I have an hospital appointment for my ‘mid-term’ scan to see if the cancer treatment is succesfully doing it’s job. I feel quite good about it, but dying from nerves too... I hope the French doubles will give me a positive boost to face tmrw. 💪🇫🇷🍀

When I was getting treatment for cancer, I didn’t have any hair left on my head. To be able to feel the wind in my hair again is a feeling I’m so super thankful for. 🥰 I spent most of the ferryride outside, feeling it.

This is a bit emotional for me today, I joined a 5km run and I finished in 28:46. In less than half an hour. 💪 Kinda proud of myself with this result. 🏃‍♀️☀️ #lovetorun

And... chemo part 1 is done. I'm very surprised it hasn't made me sick (yet) but even the better. Next step is prepare for hairloss, the most difficult part to accept. :'( Went to the hairdresser for the wig today, and when we left, she gave me this. Next week to shave it off...

I’m so happy: My first radio therapy was planned for February 11th, but I asked for Monday 17th and they are okay with that. It means: I can go to Ahoy without worries! Woohoo! 🎉 🙌 #goodness

A little update healthwise: today I was in hospital and they told me that after my last chemo (half january) I will have radiotherapy for probably five weeks. This should start in february, which means that in march I would be finished with my treatment against cancer! 1/3

I had a big lumb in my throat when my doctor made clear how it all looks like now. I'm so determined to do this! She said most people with fulltime chemo like mine, stop working, but I still try to work what I can, and do my things. I love life too much. <3 #tobecontinued 3/3
