@babbymd I definitely agree that we should use formal titles in front of patients. But I strongly prefer that my TEAM call me by my first name, including students, nurses, and medical assistants. I feel like having a MA call me "Dr." solidifies a really outdated hierarchy...

Telehealth abortion is safe, effective, and private. A new crop of companies, like @AidAccessUSA @HeyJaneHealth Abortion on Demand, offer medication abortions through the mail, and they're often much cheaper than traditional clinics.

After writing this piece, I've switched to total transparency in my notes. I print them for my FQHC patients. Added bonus is it helps me close charts faster. The only hiccup I've had so far was with a pseudocyesis patient. 😳🤰

Most of these companies are totally legal and only operate in states where telehealth abortion is permitted, complying with state-specific rules. @AidAccessUSA is the exception: Its Europe-based team will mail abortion pills to patients in all 50 states, regardless of the law.

Their growth has been driven by two major pandemic changes: 1) The FDA changed some of the rules around mifepristone, one of the "abortion pills," making it legal to be sent in the mail 2) Telehealth exploded, driven largely by insurance companies being willing to pay for it
