Happy Eid ❤️
There will come a day when we celebrate Eid in our homeland of East Turkistan for which we all fight and pray!

Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act has just passed with an overwhelming majority in the U.S House of Representatives. One final step left before it comes into law: Trump's signature! We hope that the rest of the world can follow America’s lead. Save my people before it is too late!
I am so proud to lead Stop Uyghur Genocide campaign with the support of MPs led by Nusrat Ghani and cross party, cross community, cross faith coalition campaign organisations and individuals, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤️.

Candlelight vigil for victims of the Urumchi fire in London tonight, it is so encouraging to see so many young people joined the protest calling for freedom & democracy -"down with the party, down with Xi Jinping, Free China."
#UrumqiFire
#FreeUyghurs
I have translated the testimonies of many of my fellow Uyghurs that have gone through what the Chinese government calls 're-education.' I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
As an Uyghur and as a human being, this is frightening to watch.
@ipacglobal
@UyghurCongress
Taiwan: "After reunification, we will do re-education", says the Chinese ambassador to France
Re-education is refering to Uyghur concentration camps and genocide
We are sickened to find out that the Government has moved to prevent Parliament voting on the
#GenocideAmendment
tomorrow.
We have campaigned tirelessly to try and secure our day in court.
To not even allow this to proceed to a vote is most shameful indeed.
It was a privilege to be interviewed by
@campbellclaret
for
@RestIsPolitics
, which will be out on Monday. This is one of my biggest interviews so far, I hope more influential people from all walks of life will join me in my fight against
#UyghurGenocide
perpetrated by the CCP.
It is humiliating and it is very painful for us Uighurs living in exile to think that even the goods that we are using, we ourselves are using, could be from my own people, imprisoned and forced to work in these factories.
In response to heavy pressure from our
#NoGenocideTrade
campaign the UK Government will shortly announce policies to help
#Uyghurs
.
While we are grateful for anything, I am bitterly disappointed that none of the changes will enable courts to rule on genocide. I hope I am wrong.
“It is a betrayal of British values to deal with this firm,’ said Rahima Mahmut, a London-based activist with the World Uighur Congress.
‘Huawei played a key role in creating this horrific Orwellian system and people are suffering.’
@UyghurProject
The
@TribunalUyghur
have concluded that the Chinese regime is committing torture, crimes against humanity and genocide against my people. Today's verdict is painful for our community, but it also brings us one step closer to justice.
@ipacglobal
@MaajidNawaz
@MrWinMarshall
“It is absolutely crucial that the freedoms of the people and the autonomy of Hong Kong are respected in full, and we’ll be watching very carefully ....
China must also end the egregious human rights violations against the Uyghur population in Xinjiang.”
Whilst my community mourn loved ones & sift through leaked pictures for family members, the UN &
@mbachelet
refuse to provide us with even a slither of accountability. The concentration camps in my homeland are not "counter-terrorism measures," they are the machinery of genocide.
#BREAKING
Human Rights chief
@mbachelet
“unable” to assess
#Uyghur
human rights abuses, frames them in the context of “anti-terrorism” and “de radicalisation” measures (which they aren’t).
I ask all MP friends of the
#Uyghur
people to vote for the
#GenocideAmendment
today. You have a historic opportunity to set a new global standard, and to do something for us that nobody else has.
I am still finding it difficult to process what
@vincecable
said to me about the genocide being perpetrated against my people. During our exchange, I felt as though I was talking to a CCP cadre, not a senior British politician and former leader of the
@LibDems
.
1/5 SICKENING. Former
@LibDems
leader
@vincecable
told
@MahmutRahima
that the "terrible things happening" to Uyghurs are a "reaction to terrorism", & he did not respond to Rahima's request asking him to meet with her and camp survivors. This is genocide denial.
@YoungLiberalsUK
I would like to issue an open invitation to
@vincecable
to meet with me and other Uyghur survivors. I feel sure that once you have heard what our people are suffering first hand, you will do everything in your power to bring that suffering to an end.
@ipacglobal
@AppgUyghurs
To solve shared problems like the climate crisis, nuclear proliferation and pandemic control, we must work with the reality that the Chinese Communist Party could yet have another 100 years in it. My piece for
@indyvoices
@Independent
The Uyghur genocide is deeply integrated into the Chinese economy. We know from previous BBC reports that as well as forced labour in factories half a million are used as slaves in cotton fields.
- this is why it’s so important to make our reaponse to genocide an economic one.
Maajid Nawaz calls on Pope Francis to condemn Uighur atrocities. Maajid went further to criticise some Islamic community leaders in the UK for not condemning the CCP for their treatment of Uighurs.
Thank you
@MaajidNawaz
I loved last night’s
@RestIsPolitics
live show! It was incredibly interesting.
I was deeply moved by the audience’s response to my interview with
@campbellclaret
. I’m pleased the Uyghur story has resonated with so many listeners.
Lovely to see
@MahmutRahima
and her son in the audience last night and to hear the audience give her an incredible ovation when I pointed her out and talked about her STOP UYGHUR GENOCIDE campaign. If you haven’t heard her interview on
@RestIsPolitics
LEADING I strongly recommend
“detainees were punished for speaking in Uyghur, endured routine interrogations, … On one occasion, she was chained to her bed for 20 days. Female prisoners were told they would be vaccinated when they were being sterilized.”
It was a joy to chat to
@DrewPavlou
in London last night over some Uyghur food. Drew has been a fearless advocate for the Uyghurs. I thanked him for always speaking up, even through threats & harassment. I look forward to continuing to collaborate and share in our activism.
The UN's report has found that arbitrary detention in the Uyghur homeland may constitute crimes against humanity.
It also details forced sterilisations, sexual violence, religious repression + more.
But I am disappointed that the UN has not called this what it is: genocide.
We might not have won recognition of genocide but together we won greater recognition of the crimes against Uyghurs, including sanctions on some who are directing it. Thanks to those who supported Uyghurs. We will need your more than ever as the attempt to destroy us continues.
Today I joined key allies in the Uyghur movement for the launch of
@LauraTMurphy
and
@hk_watch
’s ‘Passively Funding Crimes Against Humanity.’
This report reveals that local pensions funds across the UK are invested in companies facilitating rights abuses & Uyghur forced labour.
The violence our people have withstood is difficult for most to imagine. But we continue to unite & resist. Our resilience & strength should give us all faith that one day, we will see the change we have been struggling for & that we deserve.
#InternationalHumanRightsDay
The Foreign Secretary's words are strong, these measures are welcome, but it is too little too late. Two steps are urgently needed. A genocide determination mechanism, Robust, clear sanctions. I hope what we have heard today is just the start & that the government will go further
"They are in the detention camps over there and facing disgusting injustices," he continued.
"For myself, I just speak my truth. Sometimes I get it wrong but in this instance I definitely know I'm not."
Many thanks to Sir Jeffery Nice for taking on this dramatic challenge, this Uyghur tribunal is crucial to bring judgement to the CCP's treatment against my people as we believe it is genocidal at every level. We hope that the justice we having been longing for will be achieved.
This is exciting and important news. If the UN route to genocide determination is blocked, we have to find others ways.
#Uyghurs
deserve better than a shoulder shrug in the direction of China’s veto.
#UyghurTribunal
“And you don’t feel safe going back at this point?”
“I’m sure at the airport, I would be covered with a black sack on my head and shackled on my wrists. I’m not even going to be surprised with that.”
We must oppose Disney’s Mulan in the strongest possible terms! How can we allow such a film which endorses the perpetrators of the
#Uyghur
Genocide, The Turpan Public Security Bureau to be absolved by the public who pay to watch this film.
#BoycottMulan
#StopUyghurGenocide
Disney's Mulan film credits include a special thank you to the Turpan Public Security Bureau (PSB), a Uyghur region where the movie was filmed sometime after 2015, meaning likely between 2016-18, when Uyghur mass detentions were ongoing. Gives me a whole new perspective on it.
As an Uighur unable to return to my homeland for more than 20 years, I found this video both heart-breaking and eerie,’’I echo Guan’s final words – we must fight for an end to this inhumanity – or the suffering of my people will remain a stain on history.’
"The world has been alerted to what is happening to the Uighur people. Take action now. Don’t leave it until it’s too late, when instead of saving Uighur lives, we are forced to commemorate the Uighur genocide."
@UyghurCongress
@ipacglobal
@AppgUyghurs
"Disney wants to make box office profits in China. And of course China's influence in Hollywood is already well-known. But with Mulan it has now moved from insidious censorship to outright takeover."
#StopUyghurGenocide
#BoycottMulan
Writing in
@hkfp
, Benedict Rogers called on people to boycott the movie, saying that it was "so knee-deep in collusion with the Chinese regime that it is not a family feature film but a Communist Party propaganda initiative".
#BoycottMulan
Maajid is right. While we understand it is difficult to rebel against your own party, nobody who votes against this amendment can call themselves a friend to the Uyghur people. I appeal to MPs - especially Conservatives - to vote with their consciences.
@UyghurCongress
I have been processing and reflecting on yesterday's UN Human Rights Council vote against a debate on the ongoing atrocities in my homeland. Here are my thoughts🧵
I'm angry & frustrated by the Chinese govt's ability to leverage its economic influence to evade accountability. /1
“I used to watch films about how Nazis treated Jews and I would cry, feeling the pain of those innocent people. I never thought one day it would be us. I am a witness from two camps, one male, one female.

@RachelRileyRR
@aus_jewishnews
And a final thank you to
@lukedepulford
for fearlessly steering this campaign. Your relentless advocacy for the rights of Hong Kongers, Tibetans and my fellow Uyghurs continues to propel us forward.
Wishing a happy new year to my people and all of our allies. 2021 saw so much hard work, from Parliamentary motions, to huge protests, to the Uyghur Tribunal's judgement. Thank you to everyone that made these things possible. The Uyghurs will be forever grateful for your support.
As for me being a Uyghur, my heart aches as it feels the sorrow and pain when thinking of the horrors that my people are enduring, and not knowing what has happened to my dearest sisters, brothers and all my relatives.
Our latest blog is by

I am disappointed at the terrible tactics employed by the Government is denying the house of Commons a vote on the
#GenocideAmendment
. However I am glad that the House of Lords will not stand for this, and is likely to send the Amendment back. Thank you to everyone involved 🙏❤️
The Jewish community have been leading the way in supporting us from every angle, whether it is through campaigning or their humanitarian effort. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to stand with the Uyghur people through such difficult times.
This is an urgent appeal in response to the humanitarian crisis faced by the refugee Uyghur community in Turkey. They have no food, no right to work and no support. They live in fear of being sent back to China.
Support vulnerable Uyghur families today
The Chinese government should never have been awarded the Winter Olympics. In doing so,

Ghani calls for no further deepening of ties with the Chinese government until a full judicial inquiry into crimes against Uyghurs has been concluded.
This evening officials from the Chinese Embassy marked their National Celebration Day at the Inter Continental Hotel. Together with our friends from Hong Kong &Tibet, we protested outside the hotel to emphasize that there can be no true celebration amid genocide and dictatorship.

I was born and brought up under the CCP regime with total lies and deceit, which was enforced upon the people has now reached such proportions that the Wang Yi himself no longer knows what is true or untrue. It is breathtaking to hear him continuously lying so shamelessly!
The mendacity, the inhumanity, the deceit, the outright bare-faced lies of the Chinese Communist Party's foreign minister Wang Yi are breathtaking, even by the regime's standards 👇

I am honoured to be among such distinguished speakers to discuss how can Muslims and Jews Unite to protect the Uyghurs from the current genocide.
