For those of you who aren’t sure what this whole issue is about, the main problem we’re facing is this: A large number of JP Clerith Twitter accounts have been exposed on a JP anonymous bulletin board. Every single one of our tweets is being monitored and mocked by the CT crowd.
I am a bit lazy, so please forgive me for replying you all from here.
Thank you for the supportive comments.
It is not us who need to prove something, but them.
We will not tolerate further invasion.
Canon is on our side.
Absolutely not. If they didn’t want it to seem like mutual love, there are plenty of other ways they could’ve expressed it. When Japanese people see the word ‘恋人,’ they usually think of a couple in a relationship. Plus, this impactful word has never been used in the CT context.

I am curious of your thoughts. Do you think in this context and that it's being said from a narration standpoint, it could be seen as one sided?
No, that's not the same at all lol
I understand that being on a list doesn't feel great, but that list is meant to protect people, right?
The list I'm concerned about is not for protection; it's a monitoring list intended for harassment.
So literally just like them cleriths just did to the other side here in the west
i’d say this is getting wild but it’s what has been happening since 2000s.
@SquareEnix
needs to stop this
@mlwjrpg
When Cleriths speak out about being targeted, CTs often claim that we’re the extremists and that we’re making up our victimhood, insisting there are no extremists on their side. They need to acknowledge that they do have perpetrators among them.
Who are “THEY?” It’s only Aer who says her feelings to herself and says she kept it inside. Cloud never does or has. For two people to be lovers, the other person has to know about it. Please read again the context NJM-san gave which is clearly shown as love from her side.
There is no “nuance” to discuss when Aer herself says she never told Cloud her feelings, which she says in this same book if you would read it. As a JP native, you would know that means koibito is “one-sided love.” Somehow you don’t?
It’s likely that, for Cloud as well, Aerith was not just a friend, but also a lover, a symbol of something precious, and someone he felt he needed to protect.
my thoughts, just in case
There’s no way it wasn’t intentional that it was given to Aerith.
Also, this kind of sentence often implies that the person being described feels the same way.

That said, while a kiss might happen in a one-night stand or with someone you’re not in love with, lover's tie is usually reserved only for a lover. Also, in most cases, what makes something romantic isn’t just the act itself but the context and situation.
@Dizzy_Shark
For example, confessing your feelings and holding hands while watching fireworks together is usually considered more romantic than just a kiss.
@StrawberrieLamb
Actually, the word ‘lover’ can indeed carry the meaning of ‘someone you have one-sided feelings for,’ but it’s a pretty rare case. Normally, when you say ‘lover,’ it means an actual romantic partner. Their basis in Japan is the EN version, which is always full of mistranslations.
The forums are dedicated to sharing the results of people they have labeled as 'crazy'.
e.g. if you tweet something like 'Clerith brings joy to my life', they'll soon copy it on the board and mock you, saying things like 'gross' or 'go get a real life' behind your back.
@Dizzy_Shark
haha this is a song about unrequited love. It sings about not actually being lovers, but already being lovers in one’s heart. It doesn’t have the meaning they want.
Moreover, the list even tracks deleted accounts, private accounts, and inactive accounts. Objectively, it's clear which side is truly 'crazy'—but of course, that's the side being monitored, simply because they are Cleriths.
This list is not something that just disappears with new tweets. Every time a new thread starts, that list is one of the first things posted. It remains visible and easily accessible, often near the top of the board.

That's exactly how we feel. We knew CTs outside Japan could be extreme, but it’s shocking to see the same behavior from JP CTs.
Monitoring continues for years as long as you're on the list. Even people who didn't know you before can see the list, see who's been labeled as 'crazy', and join in on the harassment.
