You’re probably here for tweets about Disneyland but I’m gonna talk a lot about movies in between visits. Before you ask, yes I really am that tall. he/him
NEW: Disney says Inside Out 2 has made $1.46 billion worldwide, officially surpassing Frozen 2 to become the highest-grossing animated film all time globally.
The fucked up timing of releasing a remake of The Little Mermaid in theaters, guaranteed to make BILLIONS of dollars, and removing the documentary about the man who gave the film its heart and soul a week prior. Holy shit I’m seeing red right now.
You can tell who the real theater kids are because all the normies watching the Wicked trailer are talking about Cynthia or Ariana, meanwhile we're all discussing this guy:
I need all the “they’re adding stuff from the book so that’s why it needs to be double the length of the stage show” people to realize there’s no way in hell anything added from the books would allow them the PG rating they got.
Disneyland released additional details about the upcoming Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite event. Both nights are sold out.
Special character encounters include The Muses, America Chavez, Oaken (Frozen), Maleficent, and more. Special photo opportunities, too.
There’s a lot to like about this teaser, but I have to say I love using the “studio that brought you” phrase to remind audiences of not just recent hits, but the legacy of the studio’s history.
I absolutely NEVER expected a Mickey Mouse documentary made by Disney for Disney+ of all things to discuss copyright law, consumerism, and racism in early cartoons but Mickey: The Story of a Mouse does those things and honors a character that has transcended generations.
Alright everyone. Because of yesterday’s little blue sky “we’re getting rid of DinoLand” I have a thread to share. No this isn’t about Zootopia and why it’s a bad fit (plenty has been said about that) but instead a case for why DinoLand is important for the park’s thesis.
LRT; Everyone likes to talk about Walt and how Walt Disney World was his dream. But it was Roy who made it happen. Roy died two months after WDW opened, he gave his last efforts to make sure Walt’s idea became a reality. If anyone should be celebrated today, it should be him.
I got the Grimace shake at McDonalds and the employee said “finally, someone is ordering his stuff! No one has all day.”
Poor Grimace. Happy Birthday, sorry I was the only one to show up to your party. 🥲
Vekoma has shown off their new Suspended Dark Ride model! This cool dark ride features inverted vehicles that can tilt 20° in all directions, as well as spin a full 360°! The cars can have onboard lighting, onboard audio, and can be made into a shooting ride!

We bullied Disney enough to make them fix all their sign errors at the beginning of 2023, let’s finish the year off strong and bully them into keeping the Beast’s Library open to all guests.
What. The. Fuck.
Howard is on this list. The documentary about the man who literally saved Disney Animation and died from AIDS before he could see the impact of his work. A man who Walt Disney’s own nephew compared to Walt.
Disney+, go fuck yourself.
The whole land had to be exited out of a single tube and it was mass crowding and the alarms were blaring throughout the land and none of the TMs knew what was going on or what to do. I don’t normally get anxiety like this but I don’t even know if I wanna go back in if we can.
It only got more crowded in the 30 minutes I was in there. You could tell it was some people’s first time down there and some people’s hundredth. Once again, WHY close this space??
The first-ever Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite is coming to
@Disneyland
during Pride Month in June! This separately ticketed event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community & allies will have themed entertainment, Disney characters, specialty menu items & more:
Frontierland- the land where you can explore the American frontier, where covered wagons could be around any corner, you can run elbows with Tom Sawyer or Davy Crockett, and rev engines with Lightning McQueen-
Wait what the actual fuck?
Favorite moment of maybe the entire expo was when we got to this slide and Eric Goldberg says “now does everyone see what color her hair and dress are here?” and everybody cheered.
I’m not kidding when I say I am fully tempted to cancel Disney+ right now. Guess I wouldn’t be able to catch up on the latest adventures of Baby Yoda but I really couldn’t give a fuck if this is how they’re treating anything not trending on the home page.
The idea that Lightyear is flopping at the box office because “audiences expect Pixar movies to be on Disney+” assumes the general public knows the difference between a Pixar and WDAS film. And trust me, they rarely do.
Not over Bob Chapek saying that this bill “doesn’t affect their business” when Disney tries to proudly say what a great workplace they are for LGBT individuals, especially in Central FL.
Ok just gonna say it before the Galactic Starcruiser embargo is lifted tomorrow: why do some of y’all want this to fail SO badly?? I get the cost thing and yeah it’s ridiculous but do we really want Disney to try to do something ambitious and push the envelope and fail?
The Pixar Pals Playtime Party at Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland Park features a show, interactive games, photo locations and activities, character meets, and a selection of shorts on the big screen during Pixar Fest from April 26-Aug. 4.
This just sums up every complaint people have been saying about taking some of the most vibrant films in American cinema and making them look dim and lifeless in the name of “realism”.
I just…don’t understand the point of this.
It’s like they’re trying to pander to EPCOT Center fans by…joking about the demolition of their fave attractions??
One of the saddest things about losing the Beast’s Library is no longer being able to listen to some of Alan Menken’s best work in such a thematically appropriate space. You even can hear his alternative score for the Beast’s death!
I *hate* the argument of “when was the last time you went to Tom Sawyer Island or rode the riverboat?”
For one thing, those attractions give ambiance even to those who aren’t riding. Attractions can have multiple purposes.
Also literally the last time I was in MK I did both.
“They’re gonna announce a new Tomorrowland at D23! The Peoplemover is coming back!”
My brother in Christ, they haven’t even touched this construction wall in years.
So that’s why Zootopia shouldn’t replace DinoLand. Or Moana. Or anything. DinoLand is incredibly flawed. However, the premise of the land is GREAT! Who doesn’t love dinosaurs??? Just put more effort into that theme and you have an instant hit on your hands.
It’s wild that we have a brand new Disney animated film releasing in two weeks and yet it’s hardly on anyone’s radar. I’ve seen the trailer and a handful of billboards (which isn’t really saying much since I live in LA and movie billboards are everywhere).
Happy Birthday to Disney California Adventure! You’ve had more history in your 20 years than most parks have had in nearly double that time but you’ve really become a wonderful compliment to Disneyland across the esplanade.
🚨JUST IN🚨New experiences inspired by “Encanto” - the Academy Award winning Walt Disney Animation Studios film - and the fan-favorite adventurer Indiana Jones are being considered for the reimagined land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! 👀
#DestinationD23
Hot take but if we’re stuck with a paid system, can they at least call it Fastpass again?? I hate them naming it after a character that the voice actor historically didn’t want merchandised to death.
Now that I have been to the Paris parks, here’s how I would rank all the Disney Parks I have been to:
1) Disneyland
2) Disneyland Paris
3) Animal Kingdom
4) Magic Kingdom
5) EPCOT
6) Hollywood Studios
7) Walt Disney Studios Paris
The American Adventure’s animatronics got a complete refurb! Cast Members said the refurb went all the way down to the metal structures. Check out one of the scenes from the updated

show!
Just had the worst security experience at Disneyland. Guy checking my bags didn’t say a single word to me but proceeded to thoroughly inspect my car keys (??) while the other security CM was goofing around with other CMs.
Get those bag scanners out here NOW idgaf. 🙄
DinoLand is instrumental in showing us what can happen when entire species go extinct. We as a species are obsessed with these animals. What were they really like? What would it have felt like to experience a world with dinosaurs?
Let the frightfully fun guessing begin! Which two villains are joining this year’s Immersive Treat Trails at
#OogieBoogieBash
- A Disney Halloween Party? 🎃 👻
The real cautionary tale is that these animals WERE real. They’re not just a theme park attraction. They existed, Mother Nature struck, and now they are gone. We will never experience their presence.
The same can still happen to other species.
It's kind of funny that Iger is acting as if building rides like Tron and Cosmic Rewind are the way to battle a brand new theme park down the road, when Universal has opened Hagrid's, Velocicoaster, and others during that same period of time.
