New brand for
@footballiceland

So much versatility with the crest forming of 4 separate figures which are able to stand alone.
Big fan of the new font...
Striped clubs are, in my opinion, the hardest to design. Keep it traditional and it's boring, play around too much and its blasphemous.
Here's my take on the

100% on board with this slight change. Not only does it live better in a digital world, but it will be far easier to execute on jerseys.

Interesting little nugget found in the new 2018 UEFA equipment regulations. Looks like plain backs may be a thing of the past! Everyone rejoice!

Not saying they aren’t interesting, but the amount of roundels entering the game at the moment is crazy.
Let’s all remember that individuality is a great thing to work off as a brand.
Use crest shapes that make sense for you and your team.
On Sunday I played my last professional game. Looking back on a 17 year career I can only say it has been a wonderful journey. With ups-and-downs, but thankfully with many precious and unforgettable memories. Proud to have played for great clubs and for my country. (1/2)

My quick response.
Using historical and current crest elements from the club and merging them with a modern aesthetic that the club clearly desired.

Up there with my proudest career moments.
As a fan of the

Huge thank you to

I have a sample the last adidas home kit from 2017/18 that I designed (sponsorless) in size M looking for a good home.
Let me know if you can think of a fan that would like it.
Thrilled to be back in the football industry on-field, and with such a great organisation like

The new agreement will take affect from the 2022 kit.
A peek behind the curtain as to how the

We wanted to create a modern version of the Rautenflagge. The end result after hundreds of iterations uses rauten within rauten that, from a distance, reveals zigzags from the Munich coat of arms.

Here’s some breakdown of how we used our research to create the primary crest. We found 2 great areas to explore, the brewing industry and printing industry, both of which played a big part in Watford’s growth as a town.
It's really important that the macro and micro views of a kit are considered.
The new Juve kit creates stripes as a team (which I really like) but not on a player level. With a subtle change of the half half concept to include stripes they could have had both...

Thanks to all the fans that helped us through the process and backed us in the final vote.
It’s great to know our design, that was made just 5 months ago, competed and won around 40% of the vote against the current crest that has been the foundation of the club for 41 years.

Since rebranding, Juve have reduced the amount of stripes each year. This is clearly a plan by the club to create a clear direction for fans to understand and follow. Don’t be surprised if in 20/21 they go super traditional and the sales are off the chart.

In summary, Umbro have used their heritage to their advantage. Only taking risks graphically where it makes sense for brand growth. Even looking to other teams, if the logos were removed you can tell its Umbro. This is the holy grail of branding.
Its a new year, and that means it's time for the
@Wimbledon
2021 graphics! It's a smaller range this year for obvious reasons and already cannot wait to start the 2022 process.

I get asked all the time how to get into the industry and my honest answer has always been that there is no set route.

2019/20 - Evolution
Today, Everton launched their new kit for the season...with a GRAPHIC! Now, with the brand restored to former glory, Umbro can start taking more risks on home kits as well as away. This is a club inspired graphic but tell me you don't think Umbro diamonds...
This year Nike are are implementing 65 possible options between logo position, sleeve cut, collar and cuffs in their system. This lets the individuality of a club or federation can sing whilst still getting the financial benefits at a design and factory level. Individuality wins.
Thrilled to finally have this in my possession. One of my career highlight kits. Big thanks to
@MLS
for sending it over. Now to get it framed.

As a celebration (when it finally rolls around) I’ll be giving away one of the adidas player issue sample jerseys from my personal collection. I can even sign it if the winner would like.
Stay tuned to see which one!
I'd like to give a shout out to the unsung heroes of this kit: the sponsors.
Fair play to
@Telekom_group
and
@qatarairways
for agreeing to the tonal look. Refreshing to see in a landscape where we see a lot of sponsors in full colour and with gradients etc.

Delving into this has reaffirmed to me that there are several ways to design a kit. It doesn't have to be club inspired at all, it can be inspired by trend, and styling. it sounds silly but in the end it has to look good and be wearable. Thats the most important thing.
Needless to say, if there are any clubs, no matter the sport, that are interested in using the services of
@bgundell
and I, please get in touch.

With the 2023 MLS kits launching, you may have noticed a new detail on the left sleeve.
I was asked to help the MLS brand team find a home for the new, league wide, Apple TV sponsor. Many mock-ups later it’s great to see the final result chosen by the team released to the masses
Honoured to be working with my hometown club,

I will be working with the club on their brand and social media from the 2020/21 season.
Although you won’t see anything until next season, work has already begun.

An underrated part of kit design that, I feel, makes a huge difference to how a kit is perceived, is year on year variance. This is something
@WestHamUtd
&
@umbro
have done great job of here. Maximum impact created by going in a different direction each year. Make a journey.
@Everton
@premierleague
The new
@WestHamUtd
home kit is an interesting case. This is a big play of the clubs history, graphically. I think now is the perfect time to be able to switch to this with the brand having been elevated over multiple years. I'm not sure it would have had the same impact in 14/15
A quick tweak of one of the clubs explorations using the colours of the robin that proved so successful on their third kit. Now THAT is instantly recognisable...

2018/19 - Double or nothing
Here Umbro doubled down on the nostalgia, bringing the double diamond branding to the cuffs. With classic styling and a bit of melange detail in the fabric, once again, this is instantly recognisable as Umbro. 0-100 in 5 years.
Context is always key. Here's the new
@rfef
logo in the Spanish national team crest.
There's no doubt in my mind that the federation wanted to simplify the mark so much so it would fit as part of the new crest.
I think it works really well.

Back before

switched to Umbro, I was set to design their 18/19 kit.
As part of that process I looked at creating a new sign off for the club that referenced their mining history by looking at the chemical makeup of carbon.
Just off a zoom call with
@SoundersFC
Senior Vice President of Marketing & Operations,
@TaylorGraham26
discussing the Sounders new away kit that drops tomorrow.
All I can say is prepare for maybe the best kit, and storytelling, of 2021.
Noooow we are talking.
More vivid blue returns on the away kit. Really, really nice. I can see a scenario where the club wanted to keep the navy on the home so adding it to the away is a great way to work it in.
**ANNOUNCEMENT**
In celebration of me passing the 2000 follower mark I will be teaming up with
@GusCamisetas
to create fantasy home and away kits for
@InterMiamiCF
.
Watch out for updates as we work through the process.
A really nice kick off to the Celtic/adidas partnership.
Simple base style used well. It will be interesting to see how adidas vary the use of the 3 stripes each year with placement and colour, not going to be easy.
Japanese design firm nendo has created a football that doesn't need inflating. Part of the "My Football Kit" project for

What happens when you leave the brand 10 months before the

kits you designed get released? You wait until the new ones are out so you can buy them discounted 😂😂
Since the purchase of the Umbro brand by Iconix in 2012 the brand has been steadily growing in terms of visibility, especially on the licensed front. With kits being well received by many, I thought it would be good to analyse what the brand has done.

I discuss the difficulties in designing striped jerseys, whether these designs would be allowed in Europe, and how to connect multiple kits (SPOILER: this is a great example).
Purchased my favourite 2021/22 jersey at the authentic level.
It's a jersey that looks great in photos but seeing the construction and detail in real life is unmatched.
I'll take some close up shots when it arrives.
It’s amazing how fast times and trends change. 2014/15 United and City kits contained no graphic whatsoever. I wonder what the reaction would be if they were launched in 2021...
2020/21
Today's launch marks a departure from the straight vertical stripe and looks to play more with shape. Yes, this will be polarising, but for me this is still stripes and not a departure to the extent of Juve or Barcelona.
@Everton
2014/15 - Umbro's return the the
@premierleague
.
The great thing I feel Umbro have done here is using classic styling by looking back to 1924. Yes, this is simply just the colour blocking of the shirt, shorts & socks but it allows the brand to be uncluttered on its return.
Stoked to share some of my first work with
@Wimbledon
that has hit the masses.
For this years tournament there will be a series of 2020 printed tees for men, women and kids designed by yours truly.
The break in the navy outline on the new
@CBF_Futebol
crest causes a bit of an issue when creating a woven crest (usually used for replicas). Instead of being able to use the outline as the satin stitch to sew the crest down,
@Nike
will, most likely have to add an outline.
My man Jimmy dropping knowledge on the industry, his career highlights and how the new

Yeah the jerseys are great and all (they are) but an underrated part of these releases are the France/Australia socks and USA shorts. Great to see something different than the status quo.
Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.
