@HALWithAHat
For sure, SpaceX has done irreparable damage to the space industry. It's no longer a question of "how well it works" but "how good would it look on the promotional material". That's what happens when rich guys want to make themselves look smart, even though they are not.
BE-4 vs. raptor
7 per rocket. Vs. 44 per rocket
10 million per. Vs. 250,000
550,000 pounds thrust vs. 650,000
Now tell me, which is more sustainable long term?
When I say space isn't interesting people think it's my personal opinion or something.
For thousands of years man looked up into the sky and wondered what was up there. Now we know. So how often are you thinking about it? How often are you viewing space videos? You don't care.
SpaceX just confirmed it, there is no t-2 hour poll legal requirement.
The FAA just fined SpaceX 300 thousand dollars for something they literally made up.
For nearly two years, SpaceX has voiced its concerns with the FAA’s inability to keep pace with the commercial spaceflight industry. It is clear that the Agency lacks the resources to timely review licensing materials, but also focuses its limited resources on areas unrelated to

He was using the internet as a medium to see how far people would support something that is objectively unhealthy, and to see how people will get invested in a story even if it means hurting someone.
As I continue to become more politically active and politically aware, it’s becoming clearer to me that government over-regulation is one of the biggest threats to human progress by far.
More this: Less this:
God booster 7 was such a chad.
imploded
exploded
still flew
decimated the pad
blew up its HPUs
had a huge onboard fire
lost almost 1/4 of its engines
kept going
survived FTS
did multiple supersonic flips with holes in it
made a huge explosion
Apollo 13: How a a few inches and a 2$ part almost stranded three astronauts a quarter million miles away from earth, and how a roll of duct tape saved them.
A🧵:
No, this is what happens when your engineers are stupid.
“Hey, let’s static fire a rocket with more thrust than the test stand is rated for”
And
“Let’s build out launch site 500km inland”
Are not thoughts that go through western engineers brains and even ignoring regulation.
These concerns and delays are not with the fact that SpaceX will be catching a skyscraper with another skyscraper, but rather the SAFE discharge of DRINKING WATER.
What is this BS?
Starship's fully and rapidly reusable design will exponentially increase humanity’s ability to access and utilize outer space. To unlock its full potential, and do it rapidly enough to meet commitments to national priorities like NASA’s Artemis program, Starships need to fly →
It’s honestly frustrating how anti-billionaire the space community has become.
Wishing harm on someone who is doing what he is doing to further human progress is not ok.
If your problem is with wealth, then Criticize wealth when it harms others—Jared hasn’t harmed anyone.
@Lukeleisher
Raptor reliability is still a bit of a question mark, we lost one last time. plus the restarts are not reliable as of right now unfortunately.
State propaganda featuring a war machine flying over a college stadium full of people doing Flag Adoration.
In America, we call this act of violent idolatry ‘a cool sports picture.’
We are very unwell, comrades!
The Golden Gate Bridge was build in 4 years.
The Hoover dam was built in 4 years.
The Empire State Building was built in a little over a year.
Amazing things can happen when we put ourselves together and just do it.
@USA_Polling
The election could be over after sentencing and the debate depending on how well Kamala does.
I have this sneaking suspicion that trumps senility during the debate was overshadowed by how just horrible Biden was, I think *if* that goes away then most people will say “too old”
Not at all. Starship is similar in design to the failed Soviet N-1 Moon rocket. Too many engines compared to the successful Saturn 5. More to go wrong.
This is the current situation of US airspace, millions are unable to grow crops from the plane shadows, this issue was only hypothetical 50 year ago! But it’s killing millions today!!!
Reminder that Kessler Syndrome was hypothesized 50 years ago, proposing the very real chance that we put so much junk into orbit that we can never leave Earth again. This is our current situation:
I think we all need to take a moment to realize how completely and monstrosity fucked the United States space program would be if not for private company’s
What in the hell is this architecture 😭😭😭
With the successful first flight of Spaceship Neptune-Excelsior (and second overall uncrewed test demonstration) completed; we take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary accomplishments that have been completed.
In just a few short years, our world-class team of engineers
@anti_phazzee
Racism is when saying your engineers repeatedly make stupid decisions?
Other countries have functional space programs, just look at India and the UK.
Criticizing something your countey does is not the same thing as blind hatred towards a race of people.
@DiabolicalIdea
I know it makes headlines and fires people up to 'boil the evil rich.' I didn’t come from money—I dropped out of high school and started a company, working hard & clearly getting lucky along the way. I recognize that and I have tried to do the right thing by giving back whenever
However the scrubbers were meant to sustain two men for less than a day. Keeping CO2 levels at acceptable levels for 3 men for 3 and a half days would put the crew in a fight for their lives that they would barely come out of.
