Jesse Puljujarvi is the best RW on the Oilers and contributes to outscoring which is central to wins. This season, if healthy, he would have scored 20 goals while helping all of his linemates out score opponents. I’ll take that player all day, especially at his cap hit.

The Oliver Bjorkstrand trade is not close to real value, but taking on the entire cap hit is key. Keep that in mind when the Jesse Puljujarvi trade drops. It will be a mistake and the return ghastly. Oilers are weak at RW. Keep JP, make the money work another way. We wait.

I'm seeing comments that go "IF Puljujarvi has the value analytics suggests, the offers should reflect it" but that misses the point completely. Again: The REASON you have an analytics department is to acquire high value at low cost. Smart teams are going to offer just enough.
