Just saw this. It’s true. So many people take things for granted. I don’t. I’m grateful for anything good that comes my way, including electricity, a home, food etc.
Today Is My Birthday! I will find out whether the number 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything.
I have family meal planned for tonight of Chinese takeaway. On Saturday I am going to see Macbeth and the following Friday I will see David Suchet give a talk.
@RodriguesJasonL
This is downright infuriating! You've poured contempt over those who have died. You're damaging those who are still alive. Every single person in the protest should kindly pay those businesses and NHS they're harming. This display of selfishness is UnCool!!!!
I'm so grateful for knowing, even just a little bit, so many kind people on Twitter. Twitter gets bad press for being an intolerant place, but I'm glad to find a corner that is kind. Gladdens the heart.
@fesshole
Some people, like you, are so ungrateful. It's a pity now that the person who secretly chose to pay your bill didn't know what your reaction would be. The person could then have secretly paid for someone who actually deserved it through the gratefulness of the action they'd show.

. An excellent author who captivated so many generations, especially with The Worst Witch. I watched the 1990's adaptation. That's Jill Murphy, Clare Porterwho played Miss Drill (died a few yrs ago) and Una Stubbs who played Miss Bat, all sadly dead now.
I am lucky a friend gifted me Flesh and Blood by
@StephenMcGann
for Christmas. It sounds so fascinating and looking forward to reading it. I'll write a review on Twitter next year. My friend has good taste and knows I've liked watching him on TV for a very long time.
Meet Millie. She is 2 years old, friendly, a bit of a sook really. She, so far also likes squeaking at the birds and hiding from passer-bys, whilst spying on them. She also purrs like an engine.
As I grieve my own gran’s death (she sadly peacefully died yesterday from Covid 19 in her care home). My heart also goes out to the many others in this now far from unique situation.

The Year of The Witching is set to be one of the big books of the autumn. I have 1copy to give away. Follow, RT and a winner will be chosen at 7pm on Monday 7th September.
My gran - June Hoffman at 90, died of Covid in care. BBC paid tribute to her. She was strong, kind.She was a medical secretary for NHS consultant. Wore trousers before most women.Liked gadgets. Celebrated Diamond Wedding Anniversary same year as the Queen. Travelled in retirement
One day! I don't know when, but a new and better kind of day will dawn. It may not feel like it yet, but it will come and it'll be ours for the taking and for the nurturing. When it does, don't forget what happened, your loved ones, what you and others did, the people you met.
OMG!!! Thank You to all those who started following me on Twitter yesterday and overnight and this morning. It totally surprised me that I now have 2000 Twitter followers and also new followers directly following on my blog too.
Thank You to those who helped get it noticed more.
Today - 14th January is My 41st Birthday!! How did I get to 41 with such lovely people? Thank you 💖
I'm sharing again a pic taken last Oct in Liverpool.
I went to see
@paulsinha
in his show, Once Sinha Lifetime. It is such a memorable title for such a cleverly constructed show. Paul Sinha tells what he wanted to tell about his life interweaved with humour and song.
Full review to come.

Exactly 1 year ago my gran died from Covid19 in her carehome. She liked to walk. So I'm going for a long walk today. That first pic is of her in Sherwood Forest, a few miles from her house in 2016/17. The last time we were there together.
@MarcusRashford
Books are important and yet in normal times, libraries were closed down. I volunteer at a library and rebuilt the interior, but the government should have seen potential in it first. A library is books and much more.
@franquinn
I often holiday around the UK. I call it a holiday.
If bookings are drying up, it's because prices have rocketed in many areas for both accommodation and transport, need to come down to something more realistic.
Today my Blog Turns 2 years old.
Thank you to everyone who has given me amazing opportunities to review and do Zoom with. Thank you to all those who follow me, without all this my blog couldn't exist. You all fill me with deep joy. I've lots more to give as it enters year 3. ❤❤
Hi folks, I have just set up an Instagram account. I am louise_bookmarksandstages
I have no posts other than profile just now, but if you could give me a follow, I'll follow back and post when I have something to put on there. Thank you.
I'm just over 30 people to reach 2000 Twitter followers. It would be amazing to reach that. These are just a few books I'm reading and reviewing.

Excited: 2 news pieces:
I have just adopted a 2 yr old cat. Lots of people applied and she will be all mine in a couple of weeks.
I am going to have vaccine 1 next week! I'm an unpaid, hidden carer to my mum and qualify for the vaccine earlier than my age. Got have some perks...
@mouthwaite
I was bullied from age 4. At age 7 I was bullied by an adult. At high school I was bullied but also helped those being bullied. At college I was 17 and bullied by an adult. I was in my 1st job too. It all scarred me, but I won't stop being kind to others.
Reviews from bloggers work folks! Sometimes, like today, authors tell me they've sold books off the back of my reviews. Sometimes readers of my reviews tell me they're buying a book because of my reviews. This makes me so happy for authors and publishers and readers 😊
@catherinerusse2
@BBCHolbyCity
I'm sad for them too. The BBC decision making isn't their most sensible. Less reality tv would be nice instead of getting rid of excellent drama like Holby City, that's great for viewers and more jobs.
Last night I saw
@David_Suchet
give a talk -

and More: A Retrospective
@captheatres
in

. So lucky to meet him after. Thank you!
The talk was fascinating as he talked about childhood drama, getting into character,

and more... Full review to come.
I spontaneously recieved this beautiful bookmark from author, Kate Donne, saying it was in recognition of what I do for authors. How lovely is that???

I've had my vaccine (1st dose of Oxford Astra Zeneca). Under 40, but an unpaid carer.
I did not feel a thing. I feel a bit bruisy, stingy, stiff this morning - minor. I'm a bit tired - minor.
I am fine and well and will be off to work as normal today.
I've just had the call for my second vaccine. By June I will have had 2 vaccines. I'm so pleased!!! Thanks NHS. This means safer working and I can protect the most vulnerable children in my care even more and my parents (and of course friends).
It's all been happening here. A family friend has died fairly unexpectedly and the mass that was in my brother is cancer. We are now waiting for his appointment in 3 weeks time to find out what happens next.
We are hanging in there.
Shhh!!! Just ordered Miss Benson's Beetle from
@bertsbooks
to surprise my mum. It's a brilliant uplifting book. I rated it 5 stars and is exactly what she will like and needs right now.
I came across a college tutor from years ago. She used to take great pleasure in telling me at aged 17½ I wouldn't amount to much as for her I was too quiet. I took pleasure saying a bit about what I've done all these years.
Her response was... "well, umm, good" and walked off.
It is
#NationalCarersWeek
. I'm an unpaid carer to my mum. She has MS with no remission. Cared since late teens. I've seen her through cancer and a rare illness that then turned to secondary MS. It's made me resilient, it isn't easy, yet I do it.
Here's to carers. Keep going 💪
I can't believe I've now got over 3000 Twitter followers. Thank you so much to everyone who follows and a special thanks to those who interact, RT and like my posts.

@KensingtonRoyal
I purposefully wore red, white and blue to sing the official jubilee song in the smallest county in Scotland.
Saturday I'll be in a t-shirt as I have organised a Lego Club for children to build in the theme "palace for for a Queen" and mentoring a teen in Duke of Edinburgh Award.
It’s another weekend of staying in… so I have chocolate, a book, a cat and later, TV to help take my mind off the endless leg pain and foot tingling. Some things we just need to bear and hope one day things will feel normal.
My gran was unwell and then was getting better. Just got a call saying she's taken a turn for the worst. She's in a care home so only my mother can go... Don't know the cause as yet, but it's suddenly not good for us at this time. I know she's 90 with dementia.She's still my gran
I'm excited!!! Tomorrow I get vaccine No1, cat equipment arrives and my supermarket shop arrives. Somewhere inbetween all that I've got reviews going to be published and the paid work to do that pays for the above...
So many great sounding shows at

. I wish I had all of August off work to review instead of almost half. What are you going to

with and choose?
Sitting out in the sun inbetween work, makes me think of the very interesting intergenerational book - Daughters of Cornwall by
@Fern_Britton
. I read it last year for review and parts still stick in my mind. There's lots of treasures of people's lives within this one.
@PiersTorday
My mum was an employee by a sub-postmistress and her and others on that team turned up to work as normal. They all got told not to put their bags down nor hang up their coats. They were sacked on the spot. They were all innocent and respected people in all parts of life.
@ellygriffiths
It would have made her day. I remember at work someone asked me about 3 years ago if I was there on work experience from school. I definitely took it as a compliment.

I think more public transport, a reduction in cars and more home working is what is needed. I also think a slower pace of life and more holidays or less hours in the working day would be healthier.
I recovered nicely from my tiredness and sore arm from the Oxford AstraZenica jab. I still feel fine. I hope for the second one by summer or as summer begins.
@canongatebooks
Absolutely! Meanwhile us lovely people who read books, buy books from shops, including Waterstones, blog about books that benefit publishers and shops like Waterstones, will fill the void with lovliness instead. 📚❤💐
6 months ago today my gran died in her carehome of Covid19.
I still hold dear that so many of you wrote lovely comments. I still thank you ❤ ❤
For people who protest etc: your selfishness shows. Can't scatter her ashes yet due to you causing lockdowns.

if I'm late with a review. I fractured a bone in my leg. Apparently newd a wee op on it. Seeing how I go. I will be back to do reviews when I can. Feel bad if I end up letting anyone down.
@mrcarl_woodward
Wise words from David Harewood.
It's true. People can't afford that. It isn't just London that's increasing. All across the UK have seen this.
If prices for a seat continue to rocket upwards, theatre becomes for the elite. Gigs in Scotland are so expensive. Theatre going same.
I've had so many heartwarming comments by so many people, when I said I'd been shortlisted for Citizen of the Year for volunteer work I do. Didn't win, but made it to final 5 and still got a certificate and still pleased. Trying to thank everyone. I'll add to the thread.
