Howdy LSFC friends! It is our pleasure to announce
@KottonCandyMutt

Friendly reminder from Lone Star Fur Con to make sure you do NOT buy any strange or exotic plants today after the total eclipse of the sun that we’ve experienced. But if you do, then whatever they offer you, don’t feed the plants!
History of Pride: The Demisexual Flag
Coined by Asexuality Visibility and Education user “sonofzeal” in 2006, the term Demisexual describes someone whose sexual attraction is more dependent on emotional connections first. It is unclear when the flag was designed or by whom.
Join us Friday July 12th for our next fundraising event and show us your rock star voice! We will be doing some karaoke at Common Interest from 7-11pm. There is also a raffle to enter for cool prizes! This is a 21+ event due to the venue’s alcohol license.

It pains us greatly to see the trust and safety of our furry family compromised in this way. It should be clear that this behavior is not acceptable at any of our events - including but not limited to LSFC, and those determined to be a danger will be handled accordingly (2/4)
Howdy partners! It’s high noon for us to start looking for amazing people to staff our upcoming convention! Please use the link below to submit an application of interest. We will narrow down candidates and schedule interviews from April 21st-28th!

200 Followers! And half in just the last week! We’re so excited to have you all joining us on this journey, and encouraging us along the way! Thank you all so much!
History of Pride: The Non-Binary Flag
Created in 2014 by Kyle Rowan, with the stripes each representing a different way to identify as a non-binary gender.

Here’s the colors and meanings of the first pride flag!
History of Pride: The Trans Flag
Created by trans woman Monica Helms in 1999, the stripes represent trans men (blue), trans women (pink), and intersex & nonbinary (white).
The fandom has a self-reported trans community more than 5x larger than the national average!

No, we didn’t forget about you! Created by Michael Page in 1998, it represents homosexual attraction (pink), heterosexual attraction (blue), and the overlap of attraction found in bisexuality (lavender).
History of Pride: The Intersex Flag
Designed by Morgan Carpenter of Australia in 2013, the yellow and purple colors were chosen as they had no direct gender association, with the circle representing the wholeness that intersex people are often made to feel they lack.
We have completed our new board selections! Give us some time to reach out to those chosen to make sure they accept their new positions, but we hope to soon be officially announcing them all! (Convention Chairperson selection coming soon!)

We will be opening applications for vendors, panelists, and DJs/performers later in September! It’s our first year with our systems, so we’re spacing things out a bit to make sure nothing gets overwhelmed. We will definitely make a big announcement though!
We’re ending our History of Pride Flags series, but don’t think that’s the end! There are dozens of groups and communities within the LGBTQIA+ rainbow that have their own flags and symbols, and most people have more than one flag to fly! Share with us the flags YOU fly!

This dual feather symbol was designed by tumblr user 2Sanon in 2016 and can be overlayed onto any other pride flag to represent the gender and sexuality inclusive spectrum of North American Indigenous peoples.
History of Pride: The Pansexual Flag
Also difficult to attribute, the design surfaced in the 2010s and is commonly described as representing attraction to women (pink), non-binary individuals (yellow) and men (blue). Often debated as either separate or comparable to bisexuality.
@FurryInvasion

Thank you for adding further context to the post! We are trying to keep our Pride month posts from being too long to be easily read, so we unfortunately had to try and trim down that complex history to a 280 character limit.
@Zahzu
Don’t feel bad! Many nonbinary folks still present in either traditional masculine or feminine appearances and it can be hard to know what to say. The best practice is to listen when someone gives their pronouns and do your best to respect that. So glad you love Echo! We do too!
The event will be hosted at Brushy Creek Park in Cedar Park, TX, from 11am-3pm!
3300 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613 entry fees accepted in cash on-site or by presenting your transaction receipt from donation at one of our links here:

They’re not! When they are in a more static pose, they drape on him as a poncho. When they are in a more dramatic pose, they’ll be spread out!
