Today is
#CelebrationDay
Today I’m celebrating my mentor Alex and thinking of all the kindness and belief he had in me. He was truly a legend
Who are you remembering this celebration day
I have to mention what a superstar physio Carly from
@glebefootball
is
We heard a shout that someone collapsed in the car park which turned out to be the in the next ground along & she jumped a fence to get a defib to the person 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What an absolute hero! 🫶
#HeroPhys
Everyone who is saying thoughts & prayers for Eriksen
With the greatest respect forget the prayers & sign yourself up for a 1st aid / basic life support class. The lesson to learn from this is the importance of prompt assessment, diagnosis & chest compressions until help comes
It’s taken me 11 years, 7 months and 18 days from that first solo physio evening at Greenwich Borough but I can finally say I have physio’d at a premier league ground with my team
And I am all the happier to have done it with my
@sedonsfc
brothers.
🥲
My physio mantra has always been the same: Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just your absence felt
Thank you
@sedonsfc
. You’ve been the making of me, personally & professionally
I won’t say goodbye as there are never any goodbyes in football
Family 💚
To all those moaning about games being called off: If you fancy helping me get on a train to Essex with all this lot it’ll be much appreciated… & bear in mind I have a full time job in a hospital to get back for in the morning 🤦🏽♀️
We give football a lot every week. Be kind ❤️
There is a very special bond & friendship between a player & their physio… that’s why my physio door is always open ❤️
FYI I’ve also had CBT training so it could literally turn into a therapy session 🤓
Ran on today for other side & all I could hear as I was treating the lad was
@big_gkam
saying:
“Don’t worry he’s in good hands Ally’s the best. Don’t worry she will look after him”
Honestly, don’t ever underestimate the importance of being believed in 🥰🥲
#myteam
@sedonsfc
Dear football clubs and managers,
Im going to be real. There’s not a lot of physios out there right now. Trust the days of voluntary work / whip rounds is gone. The age of a solid physio being harder to obtain that a 30 goal a season striker may be about to begin…
It’s the tweet I’ve been delaying sending. But the time is right
Sadly I confirm I’m leaving
@OfficialWands
. I would like to thank everyone at Cray for their love & support the last 6yrs
2 things I know for certain:
Our paths will cross again
We would’ve caught Worthing
💛🖤
3️⃣5️⃣❤️🥳🧁
Here’s to another year of grabbing non-league by the footballs
Thank you so much for all the messages, well wishes and overwhelming amount of love.
Im incredibly blessed to be a part of this wonderful football family
Football fans do yourself a massive favour and don’t buy those season tickets next year. Go and support your local non-league / lower league club.
You’ll be appreciated, you’re be a part of a club and you can have a pint with the team after a game (hopefully)
Thank you so much to everyone who helped today and sent their well wishes to our Yahya. Particularly thank you to the Margate medical team. It’s always reassuring to have a very experienced and good physiotherapist to have to help
The football family is something beautiful 💛🖤
I’ve been in football a long while & it’s been the making of me. I wouldn’t be the physio or person I am today without non-league football
I am blessed to have been invited into this wonderful world. Thank you so much to every single person who has been a part of that journey ❤️
Very thankful for this football journey I’ve been on. I don’t think she’d ever have believed the adventures she’d go on 💙⚽️🥲
Greenwich Borough where it all started
Had a cracking day speaking with the students at
@UniKent
about life as a physiotherapist working in non-league football & the NHS.
Great to share my experiences of working with
@sedonsfc
&
@OfficialWands
Thank you for having me
@georginasdean
Please see here a photo from Jon Hilliger which shows what football is all about,
@Aaron_Rhule
along with our wonderful physio Ally
@Little_Physio
after injury & the compassion & care is there for all to see. All at Cray Wanderers wish Aaron well with his recovery & see you soon.
In life and in football, go where you are wanted not where you are needed …
but most importantly go where you are happy & stay where you are appreciated 💙💚
My 2022 resolution is to stop wondering if I’m good enough for other people and start wondering if they are good enough for me…
Yeah. That’s the New Years resolution I’ve been looking for. 🤪✌🏼
Now the dust has settled from last season it’s time for a sad announcement:
Sadly my time being “that phys from
@barkingfc
” has come to an end. The last 2 years have been a joy. In truth, as a club, you’ve returned to me my love of Saturday football
Clubs, please stop messaging I haven’t left Barking 😂😂
Please be respectful as you wouldn’t like your physio to be unsettled if there was one at your club
Unless the
@SaintLuciaFA
are interested in which case unsettle away
Sadly I’ve tested positive for covid-19 today... feeling ok (like I’ve got a little head cold) so far & trying to ignore the habit of a lifetime & rest / stay indoors for the next 10 days. Not the best time to be living alone but it is what it is
Please stay safe everyone 💛
The EFL has confirmed that 112 individuals have tested positive for Covid.
The League has tested 3,507 players and club staff from 66 EFL Clubs over the past week.
A Thread:
Im an English Language nerd (I know I talk like Eliza Dolittle!). You want to know why the comments are different; look at the linguistic differences in those headlines.
Essentially the same story of “footballer goes on holiday after a final”…
Going to be having a few days off social media / answering physio phone calls. Unfortunately Im not well atm (worsening sinusitis) and need to take a little time to rest, get on this treatment & get myself better.
I’m really sorry but sometimes you have to put yourself first 💙
Thank you to everyone who gave their coat, every supporter who gave their umbrella, to teammates who stood around us to give us privacy. Honestly this is what we mean by football family
Lots of heated words on social media this week. Moments like this give perspective
💙🙏🏼
We also send our thanks to our excellent physio
@Little_Physio
who provided immediate support, also those in attendance who provided umbrellas and jackets to keep Charlie warm.
What a day that was yesterday. Probably one of my best days in football and I got to meet the West Ham legend Joe Cole.
One of those pinch myself how did I get to this moment days.
Thanks
@sedonsfc
and thank you
@peteb0065
💚⚒️
running a little Friday night clinic (started last week). Something to help those with injuries who may not have physios at their clubs
Dm for details. You know I’m rubbish at self promotion so I reckon I’ll need a bit of word of mouth to help me out 🤣🤣
Growing up I distinctly remember not having someone who looked like me or came from my background to look up to…
so when I grew up I decided to try to become that person worth looking up to 💙🙏🏼

My (old) new season blessing
May your wins be numerous & your injuries be few
May your post match meals be edible & your shin pads remain true
May your sat nav always guide you correctly on your way
And may all your defeats come at the hands of Cray
🥲💛🖤
#COYW
Imagine
@big_gkam
just rocked up at my parents house to give me these to say a general thank you
I’ve had a rough couple of days & frankly I needed this a bit more than I had been willing to tell anyone
I am blessed to have beautiful souls in my life
This
@sedonsfc
family 🥹
Anyone else on football twitter only believe news provided to them by
@Ollie_Bayliss
or is that just me 🤷🏽♀️🤪
He needs his own daily update, probably be more informative than Boris!
The National League chose an October start because many clubs can’t afford to play without fans.
Before today, the Government’s aim was to have fans back by Oct 1st.
The PM has said the plan must now be revised.
It puts doubt on whether the National League will start on time.
I’ve written a list of what I have in my physio bag… honestly i am shocked. The size of this list & I know I am 100% missing things off of it
I haven’t even included all the food I used to buy them. I don’t think players / clubs realise how much physios have to lug about 💪🏼🙃
Thinking about starting a injury / physio based podcast with teaching, stories & mentoring attached to it. Perhaps a little something to pay tribute the immense characters that gave me my start in this career 🤔
My new season blessing
May your wins be numerous & your injuries be few
May your post match meals be edible & your shin pads remain true
May your sat nav always guide you correctly on your way
And May all your defeats come at the hands of Cray

So today I accidentally discovered that this month is my 10th year anniversary of my nhs service 👵🏼
I’ve earned my extra 3 days of annual leave this past year 🙏🏼
Happy football anniversary to me. 10years ago today I started my football journey.
A shy awkward little 21 year old walked into coldharbour leisure centre (terrifying btw) & honestly I’ve never looked back.
On this day I always think of my mentor Alex Gallego. RIP boss 💛
“It’s tiring but all worth it when a player hits the top corner after an injury. There’s no high like it for a physio."
Unsung and indispensable -
@OfficialWands
' Ally Maloney (
@Little_Physio
) on the life of a non-league physio (with
@chris_brookes
):
I know people keep replying to football debates on here that there are more important things going on in the world.
On a personal note I quite like coming home from my hospital shifts & reading football debates / moans. It brings a bit of normality to a very stressful time
If you feel like you are losing everything , remember that trees lose their leaves every year, & they still stand tall & wait for better days to come 💛☔️
Massive thank you for all the messages, love and well wishes today. I am very blessed to be a part of the football family and am very humbled by the birthday love
Next week off work and the sun is coming. Bring on the freckles 😉
So my mentor died 10 years ago on Sunday. Guess where my game is on Sunday … where I used to work with him
I think Big Al has his ways of telling me he’s keeping an eye on me
#emotionalday
🥲❤️🩹
The saddest thing about the Madeleine McCann story is that she is still missing.
And someone knows what happened to her.
I can’t help but feel an immense sadness for that little girl. It’s a horrible story whatever way you look at it.

Match Preview-
@OfficialWands
vs
@FisherFC
- London Senior Cup 2nd Rd, 24/1/24, 7.45 pm.
The Wands face Fisher on Wednesday under the lights for a place in the QF's of the London Senior Cup. We look forward to welcoming Fisher fans to Hayes Lane. £10/£5
Happy new year to all my Twitter friends. Thank you for always being there & dragging me through a tough 2021 with beautiful traumas, loves lost, clubs left but also new football family gained, strength found & resilience confirmed ❤️
Here’s to 2022 😉🥂
Thank you so much to
@barkingfc
for my incredibly kind and generous end of season present
Thank you for the smiles & friendship you offered. Thank you for trusting me to be your physio. But most of all thank you for giving me back my confidence & love for non-league
🥲❤️
Thank you for all your love, friendship and camaraderie in 2022. Here’s to an even better 2023 where we all smash our goals, achieve our dreams and, most importantly, spread kindness ❤️
And I am being mildly self-indulgent: here’s also to 2023 being full of little phys energy 😘
Painful message to write:
All my NHS colleagues please be careful. There is a rising trend of muggings of NHS staff for their ID badges.
I doubt my pleas will change these kind of peoples behaviour. But please be better than this.
3️⃣6️⃣ 🎂… yeah, I can’t quite believe it either 🤣🫣
Thank you so much for the messages, well wishes, kind words and all around love I’ve received today. Feeling very blessed
💛🖤💚
#birthdaygirl
Happy birthday to my amazing dad. Thank you for seeing the best in that little tomboy & helping her run around various non-league adventures.
Genuinely best dad I could ask for. Love you to the moon and back
2 year anniversary with
@sedonsfc
today. What a crazy ride this journey is. Thank for letting me be a part of your family. Here’s to more greatness & silverware next season 💪🏼
Thank you so much to
@barkingfc
for these lovely flowers.
We’ve had a couple of pitch-side emergencies in recent months & they very kindly showed their appreciation
I’ve had a tough couple of months personally & this honestly means more than I can say 💙🥲
#KindnessMatters
Doing a guest lecture tomorrow. Honestly I hope it’s comes off OK as it’ll be a real benchmark in my career.
Not bad for a mixed-race south London girl whose careers teacher said she wasn’t academically gifted enough to be a physio & should “stay in her lane”
I am such a lucky girl to be
@OfficialWands
physio. These lads are something else. What lovely Christmas presents
Be It’s my privilege to be a part of this team 😭🖤💛
I hate the cold so much.
I love football so much.
I love football so much I will freeze my kinesiotape off for this team in Folkestone tonight.
#freeziotherapist
My gaffer 💛🖤
I can’t express how happy this makes me. Been wonderful being back with this club & being a part of this management team
So that’s where I left my smile 🥹💛
The best thing about all the racists saying they are boycotting Sainsbury’s (because 1 of their 3 Christmas adverts features a black family) is that I can now shop with the added security that there will be less racist cretins
Well done
@sainsburys
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
