Our hearts go out to the connections of Matanzas Creek, who was euthanized following a fetlock injury. It was almost a year since the last equine fatality in a race at Santa Anita.
Matanzas Creek sustained irreparable injuries to his right front fetlock. It's a heartbreaking decision to make, but he was euthanized onsite. Our hearts go out to the horse and the people who adored and cared for him. Thankfully, Frankie walked away from this tragedy.

Would suggest that not all vets are created equal! We’ve purposefully sought out three of the best in terms of integrity and ability. Light Up purposefully writes content in a way utilises science, but doesn’t require the reader to have a science degree to understand.
