I wasn’t sure I would get this project going in time so I’ve kept it secret. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but they have a shimmery pewter ink for the year of the metal rat. I live at work right now but I’m going to try and make as many of these as I can. #monkeyshines2020

Productive day! I’m very happy with how this year’s print has turned out. After printing at the last minute last year this year already feels like a win. If I can keep it up maybe I’ll get to play with some clay again and of course there will be spiders :) #monkeyshines2023

Since I found glass this morning I tired out Woofus, put my legs in a giant tamale pot of hot water and epson salt, and got making. Took all day while binging hunger games but I’ve got a good batch to go out the next couple days. If you find one, wrap em up safe for transport :)

I thought this was a squished bottle barely sticking out of the snow until I touched it with my garbage grabber. This clear medallion is seriously huge! My nephew was unimpressed because he found a stuffed monkey and a yellow golf ball, but I am thrilled. #monkeyshines2021

It’s finally going well. The first block was a learning experience on the limits of my carving tools sadly. This one needs a little more clean up and then I can start printing. Some of my prints will be hidden with used copies of watership down this year :) #monkeyshines2023

I told a coworker I wanted to do clay rabbits with marbles this year that looked like moons and she brought me seven what I think are handmade marbles. That’s what stopped me from playing earlier today. Think I’ll start making some with coins :) #monkeyshines2023

I used the rest of my coins today and got a lot of rogues done. The newest batch of rats have tiny glass micro bead eyes that really bring some life to them. They have also drastically improved my clay game with all the practice :) #monkeyshines2020

Last year was the hardest of my life. Illness and death in my family, close calls with my elderly dog, the end of an 8 year relationship. Monkeyshines was the one clear happiness in it. I’m late to start but I promise to be here to return the kindness I was shown by all of you.

Pulled some test prints to see what I need to clean up. Since it’s the metal ox I’m thinking either pewter like the rat last year or gold to mix it up. I love it in both colors and I’m having trouble deciding. What do you think? Sparkle is subtle. #monkeyshines2021

My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today. She was the best treasure hunting companion I ever had. To those that knew her, she loved meeting all of you. Old age and declining health finally caught up with her. I am heartbroken.

I took ashes to the Tacoma glassblowing studio and they worked magic into this precious piece of glass that I now carry in my pocket on my walks. In the right light I can see her in it. It is the perfect memorial glass piece. I am in awe and so thankful for this treasure.

I found this beautiful clear medallion while walking my dogs. I think the blue one was prettiest but I swapped them because the clear one was true serendipity. My old girls probably don’t have many monkeyshine walks left so it has a treasured memory attached. #monkeyshines2020

Finally! 84 prints (for 1984 the year dragon ball was created). This was a tough print, taking a lot more elbow grease than normal to get a clean transfer but they look great. 6 more days until the big day! My friend’s secret projects are coming along great too! #projectdbt2024

I did a little southern loop with clueless hides until my light died and brought me home before the downpour. I met some helper monkeys who are going to take my bunnies to further neighborhoods and had a couple finds and beautiful gifts. Don’t judge my tree 😂 #monkeyshines2023

So this is happening! It’s an old crumbly block and old ink but I think I’ll clean it up and embrace the vintage look on some parchment paper. I don’t know how many I’ll make since I’m not sure how long the block will hold up but be on the lookout soon :) #projectdbt

I searched my way home from work till my light started to die. Found this cute little coin and left something nearby. Spied a family a bit later with flashlights aglow. I hope that they left with a small rat in tow. Thank you :) #monkeyshines2020

Im so glad I jumped on the chance to buy a couple mushroom lamps from @Mztrezapocrypha and @ShipOf__Theseus . These are so awesome! I could not decide between these two which one I needed so both it was. Game of shrooms in Tacoma is going to be lit this year! They are so cool!

For my limited rogue Eschers I know they are all so pretty and I don’t mind people keeping a 2 or maybe 3 per family if you happen to be that lucky because it’s hard to decide on just one, or especially if your kids found them. Share the joy but don’t say no to kids #scatterjoy

I decided I was going to use it as practice but then she told me she wants to live. We had a long conversation as I was jabbed many times trying to control the practice cuts and she won, no longer the frightened chubby dragon she was when we started.

Omg! As always the candle cup is amazing. I worked a 12 hour day and called to see if there were cups left and was told yes but they’d be closed the next few days. Instead of eating during my second lunch I rushed over and I’m so glad I did! Thank you Monkeys! #monkeyshines2020

Between block printing I’m learning to make designs on procreate I can then make into stickers with a cricut so be on the lookout for these awesome Vegeta stickers and maybe a few Puar if I can get them to cut cleaner. (I’m not very good yet at clean lines) #projectdbt2023
