VIDEO EDITORS!!! If you don't already have Premiere Composer installed, do so right away; it will save you hours every week. I'm sure most people have downloaded or have something similar; if you don't, you're at a significant disadvantage. Stop avoiding presets!

How do you keep your client up to date on the video's progress while editing in layers? Do you send him a preview of -only the cuts -then cuts and music -then cuts, music, and subtitles etc...?

However, to be able to make it display where exactly you'll cut, you'll need to set up something that some macros might not have You'll need a macro that can perform actions when you Press a button/Let go of a button. Here is how to set it up if you have a macro capable of that
