My parents got divorced in ‘92. Dad remarried a few more times. Mom never remarried; as a divorcee she’s been with this one widower ever since I was in high school in the ‘90s. They chose to keep separate households because of how challenging blending families is. We’re all happy

So sometimes I see my Mom tagged as Mom & Granny by other people on IG.I don’t mind because their Dad is also very present in ours & our children’s lives. 🫶🏾❤️It somehow works out because they behave like visitors in our home and vice versa… Even the couple doesn’t cross lines.

A photo of my Grandma posing on top of a Valiant reached her parents somehow. She was in Jhb training to be a nurse. Her father took a train to go fetch her. In less than a month she was married to a man she barely knew & became Mrs Tshambo. I found all this out on her funeral.
