I guess this is a rare rant tweet for me cuz I'm bored. This video is played on stage/panel at a small anime con and is released for free on youtube. You don't even have to pay for the entrance to see this video.
I don't expect people to get the appeal of Vtubers if they weren't into it in the first place but it's very rude and disrespectful to undermine someone's skill and effort just because it's not your thing.
An anime con ticket($10) is worlds away from the $60-$300 tickets that you need to pay for a vocaloid or hololive concert. And it's not like the company behind him is a multimillion company with loads of funding.
Sure, vtuber models might look silly because of the movement limitations but the person who drew it put as much love into the drawing as any other modeler for a 3D model.
I imagine people shitting on him won't even care to understand how this works so this thread is already a few tweets too long. Anyways, this is so similar to the era where people shit on those who like anime/video games/comics it's so stupid.
In regards to people saying it's just lipsyncing to the original, he is actually singing the entire thing(NOT fuji kaze's vocals) and it's totally possible to record it in the program at the same time as miming the model.
Everyone who worked on the model, the person who sang, everyone else who sang that day, they are all incredibly skilled and using a 2D model doesn't change that.
I can't defend the windows icon desktop thing though goodluck with that lmao
The budget would be completely different. I imagine they would be going for 3D mocap concert(similar to holo) in the future, but for a small event like this, it's more similar to a karaoke stream with a little bit of vocal mixing. (still very close to singing it live)
With the nature of how panels at small cons go, it's pretty impossible to make the entire thing live anyways. If you check out his singing stream, you can hear his voice is already very good without any kind of mixing
@XFMGRadio
Im not a fan of the dude but i felt bad reading this stuff. Like, he's seeing all these replies you know? Im all for giving out info about anime cons here and whatnot most people are being outright disrespectful without understand anything (and they dont care to)
Hello! I was a

long before becoming a VTuber (2012 ish). I'm not sure if I'm still counted as one but I think I was probably part of gen 2?

If you think about it, putting text up here just makes this post look more legit even though all of this is just gibberish. — LIRIN
