RTing spare tickets for the BFI London Film Festival. Unofficial service. Also various other film festival nonsense throughout the year. Set up by

We are almost at the end of year 12 (I think!) thanks for all of your support this year! If you want to say a little thanks the ko-fi link is in our bio or if you aren’t a Mubi subscriber then you can use my referral link (we both get a month free!)
Fulham Rd cinema closing after 94 years. Strangely unbearable. Let’s all sit at home and watch « content » on « streaming ». While scrolling. Miserable face emoji.
Anatomy of a Fall has about 3 mins of opening credits that are just funders. It was made on a relatively low budget with small amounts of money coming from several places. The idea that other people didn’t struggle to get a film is made is pretty insulting
Simu Liu shares his disappointment over Margot Robbie & Greta Gerwig not getting

A reminder that it’s just me (Sarah) here! It might take me some time to notice tweets etc. I do have an actual job and this is just a thing i have been doing for 12 years to help people out x

That’s not weird imo. You can feel that paying for sex isn’t a great thing but that full decriminalisation and workers rights is needed not criminalisation.
Just a note to say hello, Sarah here. I started this account a few years ago as
@bfi
don’t offer exchanges or credit on LFF tickets. It’s just me here, and I’ll try to RT any tickets I find but please remember to look out for scammers etc. (99% of people are lovely though)
It is beyond appalling that the premiere of a film featuring Kevin Spacey, set for Nov 14 at The Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square, has been cancelled.
The cinema stated that they are “horrified” to be mentioned in the same breath as the new film.
We do not look to
Watching a man try to sell his Scorcese tickets in the standby queue to "the highest bidder" and receiving dead silence is my film of the Festival

I think that’s a wrap for

for this year. Thank you all, seems like it’s been busier than ever. If you’d like to buy me a coffee, link is in my bio x 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈
What’s everyone’s predictions for tonight’s surprise film at
#LFF
?
My instincts say Next Goal Wins. I want either American Fiction or Rustin but would be happy to watch Anatomy of a Fall again.
Other Possibilities: Ferrari, Dream Scenario, Bottoms, Wicked Little Letters
Reminder that it’s just me (Sarah) here and I do my best to try to RT everything but sometimes I do miss things. If it’s been a few hours DM me! (I may have been in a screening and come out to 50 notifications!)
Point of the Delon discourse is (imo) that obituaries that don’t mention the fascist support, abuse allegations, homophobia etc is symptomatic of how abusers are often allowed a pass due to their social status
Just heard someone who’s been in the BFI bar and went to use the loo next to NFT1 express surprise that a film was showing. Do people not know that the BFI Southbank is a cinema?
I’ve just seen some very entitled tweets about the IMAX’s 70mm issue. Sometimes film doesn’t play ball. The staff will have been working super hard to resolve it. Cancelling memberships? Jeez.
Looking at the weekend box office figures. All of Us Strangers is number 2 and took more money per screen than Mean Girls. Wonka has now taken £60m. Poor Things has taken almost of much money as Saltburn already. Holdovers increased if you exclude previews
Shout out to the passive aggressive man who tried to chat to me about my T-shirt and then said “great conversation” when I just continued to stare at my phone. I’m busy. Consent. Take the hint
A reminder to beware of scammers. Anyone straight away replying with “dm me” “message me on insta” or similar, check their profile and see if they are replying to lots of people worldwide about random ticket requests
Ahead of the yearly “I haven’t got my tickets, the website’s crashed”, a few reminders. 1) BFI membership has year round benefits, it isn’t just about

Because I’m a nerd I’m reading the BFI annual report for 22-23. Only 12% of the Flare audience is 16-30 but 40% of the southbank and 39% of the LFF audience is.
All-Night Shows (1968 - 1977).
Saturday night marathon screenings were once a regular attraction on the Southbank. This is a comprehensive list of every screening, from All-Night Tributes celebrating Hollywood stars, to genre film shows and beyond…
This is to my mind, a fundamental misunderstanding of cinema. It’s not there to make us feel warm and cosy. How many amazing films are about cruelty? Cinema is life
