Dropped my daughter off to school this morning on our bikes, lady is parked outside, engine idling, standing outside her car. I politely said "morning, if you're staying long, would you turn off your engine please for the pollution? Thanks" she rolled her eyes at me & carried on.

Shaking. Just got hit and run while cycling with my child. Who on earth does that? Somehow I stayed on the bike. I screamed. A person on the pavement who saw it shouted "oh my god" for fear we were going to be killed. I don't think I've ever been so scared when cycling before.

Why must we tolerate aggressive, intimidating behaviour from drivers? Cycling centrally on a road that barely fits a car, driver behind starts honking. I ignore it, but it continues, with revving. I stop at a zebra crossing and the honking continues. 1/n

Had a big falling out with a colleague insisting on driving 100m to a coffee shop. "It's quicker and my time is important" she banged on. It's not quicker at all. And even if it was, by seconds. One. Hundred. Metres. I was dumbfounded. I still am. The arrogance of some people.

So police are actually confiscating e-scooters from those riding them illegally but are not confiscating motor vehicles from drivers illegally speeding, using their phone etc... You know, the machines whose drivers kill 1800 people a year. This is just so backwards.

Right, that's it. I've had enough. From now on I don't care how wide or narrow the road is, it doesn't matter how fast or slow I'm riding, I'm riding in the centre of whatever lane I'm in. It's not fair that we have to share roads with dangerous drivers.

Just got called a c*** by a pedestrian as I cycled past them on the road (they were on pavement) presumably for the crime of: riding a bike. When I asked them why exactly and if I'd done anything to upset them, they categorically denied it. Not sure why, but it really got to me.

Cycling with my daughter on a narrow double parked road. Oncoming vehicle. I spot a space to the left where there isn't a car parked and pull in. The driver behind me proceeds to overtake us and block the oncoming driver delaying all of us. Absolutely no forward thinking. 🤦‍♂️

Still, I'd take him getting away with the close pass that didn't happen and not have my life endangered any day of the week. Although I was shaking afterwards and had my fingers crossed he didn't ram into me from behind. Remind me why society tolerates this? End.

Inevitably, without trying, I caught them up at the junction ahead. I asked them to pull over because they had hit me. They were saying they didn't realise they hit me. Sorry, what?! Even if you hadn't, the pass was criminal enough!

Eventually the road clears and there's a space for him to pass. I offer the lane with my hand... He turns off! After all of that. The ironic thing is my position, which discouraged the inevitable close pass, arguably saved him from 6 points and a £200 fine. 4/n

Still shaking. That's the closest I've been to being hit in a long time. For riding out of the door zone in a narrow lane. "Move over!" screams the driver, who passed about 2m away from red lights. When questioned, "WELL I HAVE TO GET PAST YOU!" No, you don't. Reporting asap.

This big Maersk lorry being driven slowly (and safely) through town this morning. Did driver pull over to let the other drivers pass? Nope. Did the drivers get annoyed at him not pulling over? Nope. Yet when I'm cycling (faster than he was), that's what drivers want of me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Driving behind a cyclist, I'm turning left at the next junction so slowly wait patiently behind him. Cyclist goes straight, I turn left behind him. Tailgating driver behind me frustratingly drives through as the lights change blasting his horn, gesticulating at me. 🤦

Why should Guy Ritchie (or anybody else who has accrued 12 points) ever be allowed to drive again? You've "passed a test" that says you can drive safely and responsibly and yet failed. If it was a licence for a firearm and I kept shooting it in public, I wouldn't get it back.

On a walk with my daughter earlier, dozens of drivers on their phone. Most of those vehicles had passengers too. How can anybody get into a car where the driver is on their phone and not say anything? They're as bad as those using the phone.

Driving at 20mph last night in a 20 zone, I had a driver behind me flashing their lights and honking their horn the whole time. Eventually they broke the law to overtake me, to immediately stop for the same red lights I stopped at. Patience isn't a virtue apparently.

Bus driver overtook cms away. Then stopped at the zebra crossing I stopped at. Then got to the traffic lights same as me. He said he thought he'd given me "3 foot". I said it should be more like six. He was very apologetic and willing to learn. We bid each other a nice evening!
