I want to say a massive thank you to British Sikhs. The love and compassion that you've shown to people in lockdown this year has been tremendous, and now you're feeding stranded lorry drivers. Dhanwaad ji. ❤️
Just for the record, I am NOT celebrating VE Day on Friday. People suffered and died in WW2 on both sides, to a shocking degree. I will be raising a glass to peace with my European friends since 1945.
Just dipped in on a TV discussion about mortgage rate rises. The "average" mortgage is £250K. The monthly payments will rise by £800. The Tories are going to finish off millions of middle wage earners as well as the poor. Great vote catcher...

To the "if you can't feed, don't breed" brigade: how about personal circumstances? When I was born my dad was fit and well. My mother had no idea he would develop MS, be unable to work for several years, then die when I was 7.

Currently listening to a discussion about some of the latest people to be deported to Jamaica. Evidently one of them is 66 years old, with dementia and unable to wash or dress himself. He has no family in Jamaica. How the fuck is that fair?
#Jamaica50
A little context: the £37bn spaffed on Test and Trace would give every NHS worker a bonus of at least £20k.
£20k+ EACH.
That money is in crony pockets and the NHS are offered an insulting 1%. I support industrial action.

My photographer husband went to Birmingham Pride a few years ago. He said it's one best events he's ever covered. Pic by him of one of the crowd.
To those who are going to get on here and racially abuse Rashford, Sako and Sancho, I hope your knackers drop off. The England team have done tremendously in this tournament.

It really boils my piss. "Oh but smartphones; oh, but flat screen TVs"; they're the only ones available, and the DWP demands you have a mobile so they can contact you any hour of the day or night.

approaching week 21. I am so, so sick of the fatigue. If I worked full-time I'd have had to throw the towel in by now. If the UK had locked down when the scientists recommended it, I and thousands of others wouldn't be feeling like this

I kid you not, the day after the 2019, a vox pop was recorded in the next door constituency to me, and the woman they spoke to said "she'd voted Tory as the last govt didn't do anything for the NHS". FFS.
To all the people doing poor-shaming at the moment, why don't you turn your anger at the billionaire tax dodgers who are screwing the country over? The damage they do is far worse. Get your priorities right
#ToryCorruption
Choose incompetence. Choose spaffing and wiff-waff. Choose building hospitals that can't be staffed. Choose sending covid patients to care homes. Choose doing everything too late. Choose making your mates rich. Choose lies. Choose Johnson

There are countless numbers of small businesses that are going to down the pan. We're already getting reports locally of take-aways and food outlets going bust.

The problem we have is that a lot of the English population don't bloody care. They have not the faintest idea that most of us are a couple of bad decisions away from being homeless.
Germany is preparing to help India with oxygen supplies. Why aren't we? India is part of the Commonwealth. Oh wait, the Tories don't like overseas aid, do they?

It's barking. I'm on about day 15 of a virus which *might* be COVID-19 and I'm not risking infecting anyone else until I'm clear of symptoms.
@OwenJones84
Just stop it Owen, it's embarrassing. If you don't know that Gordon Brown is working for Starmer you're even thicker than I thought you were.
I was bullied at school for 7 long years. Kids who are bullies often grow up into adults who are bullies. Bullying at work is rife and I became a union rep to defend others from it. The govt are condoning it by not sacking

Mate, if you think forced transportation of asylum seekers to a nation with an appalling record on human rights is OK, you need to give your head a serious wobble.
PS that money could have been used to help out those suffering from the cost of living crisis.
Since Feb 2020, we've shielded my in-laws. We have followed all the guidance and more. During this time, mother-in-law has started to develop dementia. My husband won't get that time back with his mum. Yet the Tories party and do what they like.
#ToryCriminals
Let me get this right: Johnson says that the NHS is going to be under considerable pressure for the next few weeks, but the "right measures are in place". Surely if the right measures were in place, the NHS wouldn't be under considerable pressure?
#ToryCovidCatastrophe
For the avoidance of doubt, I think the Daily Mail's rage about restrictions on visits to holiday homes in the EU is bloody funny. Maybe they should have hated migrant workers less in the run-up to the referendum.
@prgres
@nicktolhurst
Unfortunately, this is what happens when a government gets a huge majority. They can in effect do what they like, as it's almost impossible for them to lose a VONC. This is why we need PR.

With a GE coming this year (maybe even May!) you need voter ID to vote. You can get this FREE if you don't have a driving licence or passport. Please RT widely

I worked for the NHS for a loooooong time. Since 2010, the Tories have managed to cause junior doctors and now the RCN to vote for strike action. That really takes some doing.
@apnoeaboy
I don't know how you are managing this , and more to the point, I don't know how much longer you guys are going to be able to do it without falling apart. Thinking of you all.
@Duffycaramole
@sophielouisecc
Sophie dear, I worked for the NHS for 25 years, so I know a little bit more about it than you do. "Immigrants" put in far more to the NHS than they take out. I worked with some brilliant "immigrants". Grow up.
I have pals in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Italy, France, Netherlands, the States and Australia (and probably some other nations too). They all think our government is an absolute laughing stock.
#JohnsonOut5
So Boris Johnson wouldn't use derogatory language towards Muslims "now". Why the hell was he doing it in the first place, and how on earth did the Tories come to the conclusion that it was OK to have a leader who had said things like that in the past?
