I ran for political office from when I was 13. I have ran in a total of 7 elections. I have only ever won twice. I learned in defeat what I practiced in victory, to lose with grace and win with humility. May I never lose the wonder of that lesson!
Two separate points.
1. Our NSSF money should not be used to Finance Operation Wealth Creation.
2. If the MD has a corruption issue around his person, the right agencies should deal with it as the laws provide.
The occurence of point 2 does not nullify point 1.
A long time ago, in 2021, I did not pass the Bar Course on my first attempt. In fact, the mark was adjusted and I still missed it by 0.1. Nothing prepared me for that day. A lot has happened since then. I can imagine what those who have not made it are feeling…
This year, I did not preach on the street with my wife, but in the subsequent years, I think we shall change the narrative. 😂😂😂

It is another day to demand a physical graduation from the Law Development Center (LDC). Nothing justifies a virtual graduation when the country has had a Martyrs Day celebration, music concerts, and Makerere graduation.

Granted, the issue with
@nche_uganda
is shambolic, but, if you look closely, there MAY be nothing in the legal regime that renders those courses expired or as some have said, "null and void". Some may be irrelevant, but they are as legal as the existence of the Universities.
We may never be able to thank
@AAgather
enough because she is not doing whatever activism she does lately for praise, but I hope our kids read about her in the history books when we talk about the reformation story of public legal education in Uganda. Courage and Conviction!
I appreciate the stream of congratulatory messages upon the new assignment in my life. As I begin my journey in academia, I thank God who takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant and the many giants on whose shoulders I continue to stand! Now the work! To Him who is able!
The Ugandan Government does not teach citizens. It does not prioritize education on policy. It is why programs are unknown and are only able to benefit an inner circle. I can bet that the average Ugandan elite has no idea what the Parish Development Model is.
I think we need to reflect on opposition politics in this country. Our opposition MPs did not even show an MP from the mainstream opposition that it matters that he has been consistent in his political persuasion. Our nation continues to define itself as a mass of contradiction!
Radio Presenters are going on and on about whose nudes they would want to see and whose nudes they wouldn't want to see and all the while shaming women's bodies. But UCC won't go for such radio stations or even those presenters. We must do better!
While teaching my class this evening, my students asked me this, “If the state is supposed to protect our rights and yet it violates them, when it does, who do we go to?”
Chapter 4 remains my favourite subject of discussion. I owe this to that intriguing class with

is about sharpening men to carry the precision of wisdom in our dealings with the evolution in our age and in the ages to come…
A PA at LDC reminded us today that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot put it out. She was literally helping students at the Center to get PRNs and correct system glitches. She was answering questions about everything and nothing.
Don't stop Growing because somebody dug up your past. You are not who you used to be. You sure did some things you are not proud of but God gave you a clean slate. Keep growing in this new nature of the New Creation. The old is passed way.
Being a lawyer in Uganda is now an extreme sport. Like my friend
@DraganAtujune
usually says, “How shall we practice law in a lawless country?”
We are never giving up though. This is our country too, we shall agitate for the freedom to do our job.

Students

are being affected by the impasse at the University, the 4th year students at the
@MakLawSchool
are in danger of having their roadmap to LDC disrupted by this on-going situation. An anarchist society continues to be incubated. This is a national crisis!
A Vote of Censure does not remove a Minister from their Cabinet Post.
"Appropriate action" does not mean the President has only the option of removing a Minister.
Our Constitution deliberately left this to the President's discretion for a reason. One he MAY use now.
Some members of Parliament and the Ministry of Education have absolutely no idea what the phrase, "Future of Education" means. You could actually just address the strategic hindrances without throwing away the baby with the bathwater. It's a terrible day for the future!
Wandegeya Police station has been a detention base for three students of
@MakerereU
for almost more than a week, without arraigning them before a Court of Law. In essence, the Police is telling those boys that anarchy is okay! Our country deserves better.
As Leader of Government Business in Parliament, I would not be at the forefront of distributing a relief package that is really not a relief. I would be actively pushing for the actualization of the National Health Insurance Law and consequently implementation of that scheme.
When PM Nabbanja was appointed, I was livid. I threw a tantrum on the Green App. However, after watching her interview last night, I have failed to see any justification for the uncharitable comments she has received. Maybe that “readership” part but that is not a major blip.
May the God of all comfort strengthen
@HEBobiwine
in this season. May God comfort the families of those who have lost their loved ones on account of supporting Bobi Wine. They did nothing wrong! May justice flow like a river for them one day!
There is a way Apostle Grace has opened war on poverty and mediocrity in the last few weeks. There is a lot of junk that religion feeds us about wealth, but thank God for Revelation. All things are mine because all things are Christ’s and I am Christ’s.

Dear
@_AfricanUnion
, we see that you have eyes but you do not see. You have ears but you do not hear. The people of Africa have been crying for some time. Nigeria’s situation has only amplified these tears.

A few days ago we were reminded that Safe Boda like any other data dependent entity is selling our privacy to Facebook. Tonight, the person who should be our nation's First Line of Defence granted the industry a disconsented safe passage into our privacy.
What is happening at Makerere is deplorable to say the least! Ugandan security forces can do better!The last straw of evidence in the failed experiment of the NRM "Revolution" has been exposed. "Peace and Security" is a preserve for the haves, the have-nots are a liability.
It is fancy to ask our parents to take us to schools they “can afford” because the only choice they have is “affordable” schools that have no standards. It is not the parents of this country we should blame, it is the government of this country that we should blame.
It is a beautiful thing to share a story of intimacy with someone. It is so beautiful that no one apart from the two of you ever needs to know about it. In much discretion, there is wisdom!
How are Bobi's apologists different from Museveni's? Always taking criticism in bad faith! Bobi should get his grammar straight and his figures correct both statistically and contextually and that is just it. We should not cut him slack because he is popular.
Arbitrary or unreasonable interference with institutions that have been established to provide social security is a violation of International Human Rights Law.
Congratulations to all the people graduating from

-the 50th Law Class, today is the continuation of many days of influence. It is a reminder of the sacred responsibility you have to your nation and your world.
We interrupt normal programming to wish
@murungi_pato
a splendid birthday. One of the wisest human beings I have been fortunate to come across. His genius does not come in many lifetimes. Honoured to have shared many a platform with you! To many more.
I wrote some thoughts on finally “qualifying for a Diploma.” Thanks be to God, who is the saving strength of His Anointed ones!
To
@AAgather
and 16 ors, you taught us that at some point, every generation must rebel. We are the better for it. Thank you!
@GODFREY_Kutesa
To reduce Joy’s story to whether she is married or otherwise is not just careless, it is disgusting. But even more disheartening is that you did not try, you were disingenously condesceding. You made sweeping generalisations without demonstrating sufficient empirical integrity.
I really honestly loved the manner in which Amelia Kyambadde and the President discussed that issue of workers in Ministries. Maybe not every Minister fears the President as I had previously thought. Also, there was something right about Amelia's in put!
I watched the video by

. I knew it was problematic. I still feel that it is. Maybe it is the fear I have that their message whatever it is, targets all people from the Western part of this country. That it targets me, BUT their freedom to say it must be protected.
I watched the investigative report by

When a person who is one of the reasons why Uganda has bad PR comes on this platform and makes a joke of this nature, you know that Francis Imbuga had a point about the madness of an entire nation engulfing a solitary mind. Anyway, auction away!
Life will go back to normal, the fight in us will slowly return and there will be an end to spineless, passionless and resigned conversations.

It is okay to be happy. Work always towards that. If you are not there yet, it is alright, you will get there but by all means, do not settle for a sad life! That we may have life and have it more abundantly!
At the launch of “When Courts Do Politics...” Bart Katureebe,C.J (as he then was) said,
“Prof. Oloka Onyango is one of this country’s most pivotal thinkers and I wish that as a nation we would pay more attention to him.”
Do we pay attention to the wisdom in our nation?
In the past, not very far past, before I listened to another opinion, I would think I have the most well thought out idea on an issue. Then I would listen to another and I would realise how inexhaustive mine was. Now, I prefer to simply listen. There's a lot to learn!
This morning I learnt with pride that lecturers at the School of Law are not in this industrial action for publicity, they are in this on principle: The VC cannot be allowed to run this University illegally. I think that as a student, I have good role models as lecturers.
This is the core of the team with which I enjoyed my days at University as a member of the

If ever you are in Kampala, let us preach on the streets together. Many thanks! Blessings! I imagine that there was a concert in heaven over those two souls. Glory to God!
Being born of clergy, you find that every Christmas, if you are in the local assembly, you shall be introduced to the congregation. This year, the tradition continued but with a modification: my sister who got married last week was not with us. We are still getting used to it.
When
@KaleebaAaron
talked about the lack of shame at LDC, I hoped there was a way we could parade the admimistration at the Center and sing that kindergarten rhyme, “shame upon you, a bigi boy.” 😭😭
The decisions the cabinet is taking concerning the "small" but essential parts of our economy are damaging us, they are breeding frustration and they do not leave us with many options.
Those responsible should now also move to regulate the price of COVIDEX. Would it not be a shame that pharmacies in our own backyard will now quadruple its price? Do we need to know the manufacturer’s selling price so that we can manage the situation? Simanyi Nakumanya!
“The most effective method of influence is example.”
@mugishamuntu
It becomes increasingly important to actually make sure that this man, his ideas and the ideas of like-minded people are broadcast far and wide. This nation deserves such a thought process.
People in Phaneroo choir, please thank Minister Jozephine for singing that song , “He’s got my whole world, in His hands,” in yesterday’s service. She really ministered to a boy’s heart.
Revelation 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
They will write about what you wrought in and by us, with the working of your Spirit!
Always brings me so much pleasure to explain the origin of my name. My father is an African Theologian who has written about the concept of atonement as understood among the Banyankore. In naming us, he sought to break away from the idea of anglo-christian nomenclature.
But I can also say with a certain degree of certainty, you will quickly realize that you are made of more than you thought. A lot of other things will fall into place and you will realize that the sun has already come out for you to do it again…

. An indescribable privilege to sit under this ministration every week! We are not of them which honour not what is on our own shores! May we learn as much as we must in our generation!
I have mixed feelings on the

Convocation elections. There is a genuine excitement that young people seem to be taking this by the horns, but there is also a genuine apprehension about why it is all of a sudden, such an interesting venture.
Don't fuel conflict. Just mind your business. Don't be that person that wants to feed both sides with toxic talk. Let them square up to each other if they like but don't participate in fueling conflict. If you must play a part, bring ideas towards peace.

In spite of so many failures to do so in the past, I hope to God that our security people get it right this time. The psychological fabric of our nation depends on it. Lifting up holy hands for all in positions that are directly confronting this monster. May God be with you.
Christians and Public intellectual discourse! We need to be more equipped. Defending the faith is a priceless part of our journey. We need to be more equipped; mostly with the proverbial wisdom of a serpent and the humility of the dove.
Why Constitutional Law remains ever so relevant...
Constitutionalism and specifically, the Rule of Law, spurs “growth by attracting investors that value the safety, security and protection offered by transparent, just and ethical governments.”

The sum of the indifference of both the oldest University in the land and the nation's Higher Education Regulator, is that we have on our hands a national embarrassment of unmitigated proportions. An embarrassment that could have been halted in its tracks.
If we let LDC get away with this, we shall entrench a culture of impunity in a place where we should be weeding it out.
We can even do that graduation for two days. It is a small price to pay!
