BREAKING: The House just overwhelmingly approved the $886 billion National Defense Authorization Act.
That's nearly a trillion dollars going to weapons and war.
And a whole lot of it will line the pockets of wealthy defense contractors instead of helping working class people.
A gossip blog reported (in a now deleted tweet) that Tory Lanez was found Not Guilty and now it’s trending and other accounts are running with it, but the jury is still deliberating. That’s why misinformation floats around now, because blogs dying to be first with “the tea”.
Megan getting a Grammy and her Bachelor’s Degree in the same year is a good look for not just “Female Rap”, but for Hip Hop period. Congrats

The planet will drive us to extinction to save itself. When we talk about saving the planet, we’re really talking about preserving it for human use. Unfortunately, there are species who will go extinct with us in the process, but Earth will be here.
So question: Why wasn’t Jess Hilarious worried about who was going to stand up for “real” women when she was making skits mocking Meg getting shot by Tory Lanez?
@keiajahk
You’re laughing, but this might be one of those viral stories where we follow y’all from the awkward first date to five year wedding anniversary.
I didn’t keep up with Kevin Samuels, but almost every tweet I see defending him is misogynistic, disrespectful, judgmental, or violent towards women. Says a lot about his following.
@rjgl89
It’s really that simple, but folks would rather create memes and debates about how women are ungrateful for recognizing that a man doesn’t meet the requirements to make her happy.

I used to go to Betsey’s since I was a kid, but last time I ate there was right after the Alton Sterling protests and they had racist “Blue Lives Matter” propaganda all over the dining room full of Black patrons. Maybe they had a hand in running off their own customers. 🤷🏽♂️
The funniest part about Akademiks beefing with Saucy Santana is that if you look at the comments, even the ashy, homophobic, misogynistic dudes are like, “Nah, I think Santana could take him.” 🤣🤣🤣
But when teachers strike, you see these same kinds of comments under the stories. People start using excuses like they get Summer break and holidays off and don’t “deserve” more money. They keep moving the needle no matter the industry.
I’m probably going to make a vid about this but it’s tough seeing so many folks proudly claim they can’t empathize with the
#WritersStrike
bc teachers ALSO aren’t paid fairly in this country. We are not in competition with each other?! Everyone deserves a fair living wage!
We been knowing the Grindr community is racist for at least a decade, so much so that Grindr had to address it in marketing campaigns. I really don’t know what y’all want us to do when y’all post screenshots of y’all racist interactions at this point. 🤷🏽♂️

Funny thing is, I think she inspired one of his best, most slept on albums, “Here I Stand”. That man was in love if you listen to that album.

I been saying for a decade now that Lil Duval was a weirdo who gives pedo vibes. Dude pushing 50 and constantly tweets about young girls/women day in and day out. He always gave older dude who hangs outside of high school vibes. Folks are JUST NOW clocking his old tweets?
@KevOnStage
The amount of people projecting because they hate their jobs/co-workers… It’s giving, “How dare you enjoy coffee in the garden with your husband?” energy.
Watching an old

video on YouTube and she said, “Hyperbole is the default tone of social media,” and puts so much of how we communicate online into perspective.
Tasha K is definitely that 2005-2014 level nasty type of blogger. And if you see, none of them are around today. They’ve either rebranded under new monikers, disappeared from the internet, or struggle to maintain a relevance among a niche of dedicated messy followers.
@KimberlyNFoster
I don’t want to sound like I’m oversimplifying it, but it always seems like ppl’s disdain for those of us who don’t choose to pursue “discomfort” in relationships is a little rooted in resentment. Like how dare you choose to not be in a miserable long-term relationship like me.
@KimberlyNFoster
I feel like there’s a larger conversation about the relationship between Zeus Network and these Instagram blogs. Like even bloggers/YouTubers who traditionally blog about trashy reality TV stray away from recapping Zeus shows because they’re too toxic and dangerous.
@angryblkhoemo
As an extrovert, one of the most isolating times of my life was being stuck in a job that forced us to sacrifice time with our actual family and friends to attend team-building karaoke nights and retreats.
People will tell themselves anything to feel better than others. Nobody who is truly happy is going to take time out of their day to belittle others because their parents were a random hook-up three decades ago.
@Imani_Barbarin
It’s the condescending and arrogant, “Well are you going to vote for Trump?” towards key voting groups that’s so reminiscent of 2016. At least in 2020, they pretended to listen to and care about marginalized voting demographics.
Like you’re either going to be excluded because of race or racially fetishized. It’s almost like you’re logging on for the latter, but get upset when you don’t get what you want.
@KimberlyNFoster
I could understand if they were impeding on someone wanting to have a reasonably quiet lunch break, but seems like everyone in the room is enjoying it and playing along. I keep saying Twitter is where fun and joy goes to die.
@shOoObz
Hell, even in The South you get discriminated against if you actually sound like you’re from The South. You’ll see this in so many workplaces. You see it from hiring practices, to people’s facial expressions in staff meetings.
I say this as someone who actually likes Amber Rose—Amber has been a sex symbol in Hip Hop and had other Black women following her aesthetic. I think she might be bitter that as a biracial woman, she never crossed into white Pop culture, as if Hip Hop culture wasn’t good enough.
@ItsDanaWhite
I’d add, once you’re safely away from that environment, go on Glassdoor and leave an anonymous review warning future applicants that the work environment leads to burnout.

They don’t even have to like the abuser because these folks were just dragging him for being “emasculated”. Half the time they don’t like folks until they find out they’re possibly an abuser, like a right of passage.

on the need to fund Black women HIV researchers to increase PrEP use and end the HIV epidemic.
As a social worker, I had so many clients sacrifice stable housing, income, food security, treatment, support systems, etc. to stick by a partner who had no will to work towards those things. They would have to drag and beg their partners to show up to see a case manager.
I do not believe in struggling with men. I will go back to my parents house before you have me living in a storage unit…
Actually if my parents found out i was living in a storage unit with a MAN they’d drag me outta there themselves AND I’d get cussed out😭😭 Bye! ✌🏽
I don’t want to be that guy, but with stories of the orcas, dolphins, and sharks uniting against us, “The Simpsons” predicted sea animals overtaking us in the Nov. 1, 2000 “Treehouse of Horror” episode.

Jess asked who will stand up for women in response to trans women, yet she’s always tearing down Black women or caping for non-Black women.
This caption is putting words in her mouth. She’s not negating how the levels of government work, she’s saying shit is falling apart in this country and we’re sinking more and more money into wars while citizens here are suffering. This post is being very dense.
Hi
@iamcardib
,
Very glad you’re discussing NYC’s despicable budget cuts. However, those budget cuts are coming from
@NYCMayor
Eric Adams, not
@POTUS
. There are 3 levels of Government: local, state, federal w/their own budgets. Adam’s slashed ours in NYC
Whew, this is really my last time ever packing up and moving out of an apartment. Ready to turn in my keys and sleep comfortably in my new house tomorrow night.
@knflkkollective
I’ve seen white women go to HR because Black women coworkers didn’t invite them to hang out after work with other Black coworkers. There’s no bar for how low some will go to weaponize HR just like they do the police.
It’s okay not to be an expert on everything. Folks are really dusting off their YouTube degrees in Epidemiology that they acquired in March 2020 to now lead discussions on
#monkeypox
and have no idea what they’re talking about.
The part of the convo that people miss with the Ice Spice and colorism discussion is that colorism has allowed her so much space in Hip Hop when she’s just not a good artist by any critical standards when it comes to Hip Hop. Even to be light skin, the bar is so low for her.
Ice Spice addresses the critics who say she has only gotten this far in her career because she’s light-skinned:
“I have seen those opinions. I feel like that's not something personal to me. I feel like that's been the conversation for generations and forever, since the beginning
These folks spent $250,000/person to ride a homemade submarine. You know what most of us could do with $250,000? I just can’t empathize with the consequences of that level of greed and wealth. If that makes me heartless, oh well…
#Oceangate
This take is dishonest, but as a Black gay PrEP user and advocate, I know more affordable generic PrEP medications are an integral part of a National PrEP Program. The huge cost savings could be diverted to other resources to address racial inequities in PrEP uptake.
HIV activists have long claimed that Truvada’s high cost is the predominant reason for limited PrEP use in nonwhite gay men. Little evidence supports this claim. A cheap generic Truvada has been available for 2 years and such uptake has changed little.
@ItsDanaWhite
I’m still learning a lot about what’s going on in Israel/Palestine, but it’s wild seeing people who are admitting they understand Biden is aiding in genocide and are still berating people with, “Vote Blue No Matter Who.”
Do Tory Lanez supporters realize “beyond reasonable doubt” doesn’t mean that the prosecution has to disprove each and every wild theory that y’all come up with for what really happened that night? The keyword is “reasonable”.
@cahootenanny
I want folks to stop uploading pictures of their parents and grandparents to prove their Blackness to strangers on the internet and just start cussing folks out instead.

They definitely need to recreate this scene for a biopic of her life. The way she was just nodding seemingly unbothered.

At this point, folks are fishing for engagement. There’s no way you’re a part of Black gay Twitter and thinking you’re unique for bringing this up.
@PrinceEmjayE
Plus Doxycycline trials look promising (many are already getting it prescribed off label). Just pop the antibiotic 24-72 hours after a possible exposure to prevent STI infection. We’re seeing a biomedical sexual revolution.

Yep, just tweeted that the last time I went there, they had Blue Lives Matter propaganda all over a dining room full of Black patrons. Haven’t eaten there sense.

I’ve seen so many mixed people claim loud and clear that they are not Black, but as soon as you agree with them, they cry crocodile tears that you’re denying their Blackness. Like why are you putting your identity crisis on us to sort out?
@mynameisjro
This also condescendingly assumes that we aren’t already practicing risk reduction. Everyone I’ve talked to has voluntarily made various levels of behavior changes, but that still can replace actual tools like vaccines and treatment access.
@knflkkollective
What’s crazy is, she’s bashing working class Black people (“used to getting free stuff”) yet the people more than likely who can afford to visit her place are Black middle class and they’re the main ones co-signing her anti-Blackness not realizing they’re the entitled problem.
Angela, in her mid-30s, really played from teenage Anna Mae to mid-40s Tina and was convincing in each stage of her life throughout the whole movie. That lady has range!
Do you know the whole trajectory of 2020 to now would be completely different if dumb people actually knew they were dumb? From the pandemic to the politics, but we rather pretend every viewpoint is valid.
Seriously, we’re watching influencers push out journalists, comedians, actors, rappers, chefs, food critics, travel advisors, etc. So much now is based on knowing how to go viral and work the algorithms than actually studying and honing a craft unfortunately.
@ItsDanaWhite
This has been a constant struggle in the latter half of my 30s (especially since I made 35 the week the pandemic shut everything down). Started realizing how many decade long “friendships” were only superficially maintained by making club appearances together.
@iJagsFan
@KimberlyNFoster
Right! Like people glorify toxic, struggle relationships so much that they can’t even fathom that some folks actually have happy, loving relationships with strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
I had more folks hounding me to watch Dave Chapelle’s special knowing my support of the trans community than I had folks convincing me to “cancel” him. Like being racist, misogynistic, or homo/transphobic ain’t enough, but they gotta force folks to endure it as well.
Cancel culture is really just a bunch of people with status crying that a certain group doesn’t fuck with them anymore after literally insulting them lmaooooo
@juanmichaelii
We spend too much time, energy, and resources focusing on sexual behavior and not enough on reforming the failed systems of public health that keeps the epidemic going. I wish people were as outraged about lack of access to adequate healthcare as they are to the sex we have.
I think if you can get over the fact that she uses different arrangements than the original recordings, Lauryn Hill gives really great performances.

Asking for “Telephone 2” is like asking for the “Put It In A Love Song” video or a Destiny’s Child reunion. You just gotta accept it’s not gonna happen and move on.
I know a lot of the QT/replies are venting their frustrations about the community, but I’ve learned that gay Black men will always be my biggest support system, safety net, and cheerleaders when I need it. It’s unfortunate, but understandable, that’s not all of our experiences.
Naw, Derwin was a “nice guy” misogynist. He wanted his girl to sacrifice med school, he cheated, slut-shamed her for moving on, then as they reconciled he guilted her for how she processed him having a baby on the way. She had some toxic ways too, but no way was she the villain.
Something I’ve learned is that I can’t build community with everybody in the Black LGBTQ community. If you’re fatphobic, serophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, colorist, anti-Black, then I just can’t hold space for you anymore. Best of luck on your journey to queer liberation.
