He/Him. I translate manga, anime, novels, and such. Mostly fan projects. Worked on Jojo/Toriko/Gintama/Kokou no Hito + a bunch of others. Also a software dev.
Did I say days? I meant minutes. Here's the
#TheJojoLands
preview from Ultra Jump. Keep in mind this magazine isn't officially out until the 19th Japan time.
@Saitamagoated
Could we please stop doing this once every two weeks? What's canon is what's in the manga and what the author says. This person ain't related to the production of the manga. And I'd prefer not to have a new wave of harassment aimed at me again and again over this.
Umino-sensei's contribution says this "Whenever we met, he'd always give me sweets to take home with me. He'd always be smiling and never once made a face like he was in a bad mood. If a day comes where we meet again, than I'd like to talk about manga with him a whole lot again."
That's neat. They're making a big MOTHER tribute comic with a ton of random mangaka. Includes Asano Inio, Ishiguro Masakazu, Arawi Keiichi, Toby Fox, and like a ton of other folks.
I had a bunch of problems uploading it to mangadex for the last like 20 minutes which was quite a pain on top of everything else in the last 24 hours which were huge pains. But anyhow I'm glad The JOJOLands ch1 is done, go enjoy everyone.
@RadiantAeonstar
Bet they're gonna do something stupid like have multiple Dios. Maybe even one universe where Dio and JoJo are combined into one guy named Diojo or something.
Apparently Ultra Jump is establishing an "Araki Hirohiko Manga Award" in which you can submit a manga to be judged by Araki. You can submit something for the next almost-5 months.
As is tradition when a new Stand name show up, I listen to it on a loop when I translate and I read the youtube comments before they become permentantly messed up.
The first Steel Ball Run chapter I translated I finished on February 11th 2011, so I've technically been translating Jojo for 10 years now, which is weird to think about.
If a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure chapter references a thing from an earlier part, is that a Jojo reference? Is it a Jojo Jojo reference? A Jojo reference reference? What is it? This is what I've been thinking about all day...
Just to clarify, according to Ryokutya, Araki's comment at the end of Ultra Jump says: 少し休んだあと「JOJO LANDS(仮)」であいましょう
"After a little break, let's meet again at 'JOJO LANDS (Temp.)"
As in that sounds like the temporary title for Part 9 (or something).

If anyone's wondering, it's a visual metaphor to indicate the kind of attitude Marie Antoinette had in a way that relates to a modern audience. Really these were all basically letters. Also it's a partially fictionalized version of Antoinette that Stephan Zweig wrote in his novel
Fun fact I learned today. Apparently 杮 is a different kanji than 柿.
杮 means "wood chips" and 柿 means "persimmons". So you don't wanna get them confused. What's the difference you ask? Well uh... Uhh.. Uhhh...
Welcome to all new followers by the way. I gained like, 3000-something followers in the last day or two. I mostly talk about just random stuff I'm interested in and manga I translate so I hope you all enjoy that.
I somehow gained like 110 followers today I guess because people are waiting for updates about the Jojolion chapter? Anyhow it's almost done. Uhhh here's the first page I guess?
Ok here's the Araki clip. Yeah he just does say "koukai" which just means "release" it doesn't say "theatrical" or anything like that in Japanese. Like a lot of the stuff related to this event, the translator probably wasn't given context.
Also there's a spinoff manga of some sort with the story by Kadano Kouhei (Who wrote Purple Haze Feedback) drawn by Karasuma Tasuku (Who draws No Guns Life) And there's a rough sketch showing (Part 4) Jousuke and Hol Horse are in it. Ok.
Just a tip, anyone trying to decipher what happens in this JoJolion chapter based on like the insert text from the "next issue of Ultra Jump" preview is probably just gonna cause themselves headaches, I'd just wait for the chapter to come out.
