Awesome moment: Dana (Dad) retired in 2021. I kept his door tag knowing one day James (son) would follow in his dad’s footsteps. He did. The old door tag finds new life! Proud Dad moment.
Retiring Superintendent Christensen strolls one more time in The Middle she created 5 years ago. Congratulations and best wishes for an amazing retirement!
So this is Sophia, a 6th grader who participates in a lot of activities. Recently, with encouragement from her Math teacher, Sophia planned/organized a food/clothing drive to benefit the food cupboard. 207 items later - the culmination of 1 middle schooler’s actions.

BES prepared the most outstanding lunch imaginable for our entire staff and it is beyond comforting to know we have so much support helping our community move forward!
For over 18 years, I have valued my friendship with these two and the times we have shared at KCS! Although, they could have given me the ball a little more at the faculty game! 🙂Thanks for the great picture,

@Kendallsuper1
joined the KES March Madness Event! According to sources, Mr Laureano told Mr Picardo “Don’t Miss” in a secret pep talk just before the shot! Great Advice!
Hanna came into my office today with a great idea. “Can we include the bus drivers in our yearbook? They’re part of our school and very important!” ❤️ when middle schoolers advocate for others!
Happy Flag Day, Kendall Elementary. Another year, another awesome picture with our entire building! Thank you to Mr. King, Mrs. Scorse, and Mrs. O'Hearn for working on this last week! Great photo, Mr. King!
Harder to find a nicer kid in the world. Mikey earned a lunch with anyone he wanted as part of his SOTM award. He chose me because he “wanted to get to know me.” Truly one of the more enjoyable experiences I’ve had in 21 years in education. What a great kid! Thanks, Mikey!
So So So excited to welcome Mr Jimmy Mapes to Kendall! Mr Mapes will serve as our 8th grade Social Studies teacher! He is beyond excited to become a Kendall Eagle. Awesome awesome addition! Oh yeah — Mrs Oliver is pretty groovy, too!
Section V Track officials pulled aside Coach Flash yesterday at our home meet to tell him that they love coming to Kendall because our student athletes are always competitive and extremely polite! Great job, Track!
Mrs. Jones is a special special person. On top of being an amazing transportation director -- she is also a proud Kendall parent with a ton of school spirit! She even had music playing on the sidewalk today. It's the little things... Happy Halloween from Kendall Elementary!
Tonight, our district paid respect to a brilliant soul and a compassionate, masterful special education teacher. Our All-District chorus dedicated tonight’s opening song to Mrs. Courtney Fannon, a Kendall Eagle forever!

One of the best moments I e ever experienced in DC: Kendall kids give veterans (and Honor Flight) a standing ovation) and hi-5 as they walked by! 86 vets from Vietnam, 1 for WWII and 2 Rosie the Riveters!! Wow, powerful. Great job Kendall kiddos!
Our annual Flag Day photo from the rooftop; this year, we feature the initials AL (Amy Laureano) and CF (Courtney Fannon) to honor two amazing teachers who the KES Family lost this year. 💙
Today, Sgt. Tim Steadman (Army Airborne Scout) made his annual visit to KES to teach our SRS members (Flag Guard) how to properly care for & fold our 🇺🇸 . Today was especially awesome -- Sgt. Steadman trained his own son, Owen. It's the special moments...

These past 2 years have been tough on everyone: parents, students, teachers, admin, staff, counselors, social workers, nurses — everyone. Today, the 6th grade team gave me an incredibly thoughtful (and unexpected) gift basket with my faves. Food, cards, and a

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT: A New York couple has been trying for a baby since December — and the mom-to-be was finally able to share some positive news with her husband, who couldn't contain his excitement ❤️
It is with the utmost pride and sincerity that I thank the Kendall community for allowing me to serve as Kendall’s Athletic Director over the past 12 years! One of my proudest moments (below) — standing alongside Kendall’s last 3 AD’s at our Senior banquet...
Congratulations to my lovable sister who was honored tonight by receiving tenure. She deserves it and is a much better teacher than I ever hoped to be. Our Dad would have been so proud of how hard she has worked to get here.
Thank you soooooo much for driving all the way out to Kendall to cover a GRAA game!
@PrimetimeBall_

Congratulations to Dave Ritchie on his retirement from KCS! 14 years he has bled blue for the high school! We wish him happiness and plenty of family time!

Mrs Gates & her yearbook staff release the yearbook later today. I can’t imagine the effort that made this amazing keepsake. But I do ❤️ that Mrs Gates gave the first copy to Kendall’s biggest super fan, Katie. She comes to every event (pre-Covid). (Yearbook is in envelope) 🤫
Special thanks to our friends
@CCCSDtweets
and their TIG team for not only sending amazing treats to our staff but for also sending thoughts and well-wishes. I have said it so many times -- our school community's responses have been amazing! 🙏
Two of Coach Leicht’s XC runners with their Half-Marathon medals! Great job to our 7th grader runners Ben and Hannah on their amazing feat — or should I say “feet”? Hannah placed 2nd in her age group and Ben placed 10th in his age group! 🏃♀️ 🏃
Kendall Elementary has a new kid-friendly school mascot to greet students this year! Thank you to our amazing art teacher, Mr. Andy King, for working on the new mascot all summer. We will seek input from our students to help name the new face (beak) of our school.

Thank you Mrs. Schutz; KES is in the process of establishing a Sensory Room for our students. Her passion is driving this project, and I am excited to watch this progress. Thank you BOE & Superintendent, as well as our business office. T-E-A-M!

My sis reading through her student-advice book in preparation for her maternity leave. She’ll be missed, but we’re fortunate to have Mr Longrod step in while she’s out.
This guy…Tanner is 1️⃣of a kind. He’s funny, a great friend and classmate, and a leader by example. So, when I caught him combing his hair at the end of the day to make a few others laugh — I had to get a shot. Plus, the hair is simply impressive!!!
