WOW !...this sure brings back memories for me...in 1984 I was doing weekend weather on 10-11 as a 13-yr old (ha!)...and wouldn't move into the weekday slot opposite Mel and Rich until Linda retired in May of 1986...I miss them all...good times...

If you're into astronomy...check out the FULL LUNAR ECLIPSE later tonight...sky conditions should be "good" across most of Nebraska...with the "show" starting at 9:27pm our time...and maximum eclipse at 11:11pm...no special equipment needed to view...just find the moon and enjoy!

An interesting statistic for Lincoln...and perhaps one of the reasons the winter has SEEMED so long...our FIRST round of snow occurred October 14th, (normal is Nov. 17th)...and since then Lincoln has recorded snow 31 times...that's once every 4 days !

The 5-Day Precip. Potential is as "colorful" as it's been in awhile...meaning that many areas of the state "could" see substantial moisture between now and Sunday night...but again...this map has "burned" us before...most locations would be thrilled with 1/2 of these amounts...

As of Sunday evening...we're looking at significant snowfall POTENTIAL for much of our area...including areas of eastern Nebraska where up to 10" of snow will be possible...easterly winds could also gust to 30 mph creating areas of blowing and drifting snow at times...stay tuned.

The OFFICIAL snowfall total for Lincoln on Monday comes in at 14.5"...the SECOND HIGHEST one-day snowfall total EVER in the Capital City...only February 11th, 1965 saw more snow than we did yesterday...wow !

Here's something to keep in mind over the next few days...the RECORDED temperature at any given time is taken in the SHADE...and forecast highs are for areas in the SHADE...so if you are in the sun, it can feel up to 10° or 15° warmer to you...

The NWS-Omaha continues to indicate that steam from a couple of manufacturing plants in Norfolk is placing extra moisture in the air...and that this moisture is falling to the surface as snow downstream form the plants...some places have reported 1-2"...

Here's a more visual look at where the snow fell last night and into Thursday morning. As expected, most of the snow fell across southern Nebraska. Not as expected was some of the higher end amounts we saw in Lincoln and across the area!

After the "soaking" of the past 10 days...June 2018 is now the 15th WETTEST month of June EVER in Lincoln...and more rain is possible before the month ends this weekend...
