🎓 Proud to share that I’ve been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales! This accomplishment fulfills a dream my father Prof. John Ntambirweki always held for me— to expand my qualifications globally. Although JT is not here to witness this huge milestone, I know
Literally new year, new me — new job, new continent, new country, new beginnings. All this after 40 — you are never too old to start over ☺️🚀
God is good!
Whenever a white person says to me: “You speak really good English”, I respond: “So do you” 😌
Like, why would you think I couldn’t possibly speak good English? Because I’m African?
The COVID-19 task force fund committee says it's targeting 1.5 million employees in Uganda to each donate at least Ushs 10,000 shillings voluntarily to help in the fight against the pandemic.

I guess next time Bobi should remember to wear tatters and carry his luggage in a kaveera, travel by boat across the seas and sleep in a mud hut so his message makes sense, right?🤷🏽♀️
I have finally checked for Louis Vuitton suitcases online and the one Bobi Wine is carrying in this picture below (unless it is a Chinese fake) is not $1,300 but $3,000. So much for the struggle for the poor.
The United States five living presidents -Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Bush's son George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Trump- were attending the service at Washington National Cathedral, the Neo-Gothic spiritual centerpoint of the US capital.

Thank you for your vigilance and sending us a video of an incident that happened at Grand Imperial Hotel. We have arrested the suspect, Jimmy Taylor, an American citizen. He was detained at the Central Police Station, Kampala on charges of assault.

Senegal Man + Moustache Vaccine Man + Coffee Lady must have told the Hydrogen Tech dude that Uganda is an easy con because… Tumanyidwa mu ggwanga lino 😂

This 2018, don’t let Twitter set the standards for your lives lol. Keep kneeling, curtseying, prostrating, bowing to your elders if you want to 💁🏾♀️

My calendar just reminded me that on this day 9 years ago, I got the job offer that changed my life! I thank God for all his continued blessings… to many more 🙏🏾☺️
Last month marked the end of
my journey with ASAR — Al Ruwayeh & Partners in Kuwait, after an entire decade. Grateful to the entire firm for such an enriching and unforgettable experience. Especially grateful for Ezekiel Tuma, who has been the best boss and mentor ⭐️🙏🏾
P.S.
The one thing I’ve noticed about the generation that follows mine is that they are bold and they are brave. The conversations today have shown that these young people will speak up and not be cowered in the face of their own perceived injustices. Good for them.
Day well spent with business leaders in Kuwait at ASAR’s annual legal seminar. It was my pleasure to moderate the panel on ‘The Rise of IPOs in Kuwait’ featuring our ECM experts, Ezekiel Tuma and Rob Little. We are looking forward to an exciting 2023 in equity capital markets.
Those low salaries paid to younger lawyers in Uganda is the reason some of us jumped ship. With no regrets. At a certain point, something’s gotta give! There is no justification for it.
Wow Entebbe!! Haven’t been home in about 10 months and I’m really pleased with all the changes at the airport. No health checks? New terminal? Wow wow wow. Surprised actually 😂😂😂😂😂 Well done CAA 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
A very unique photo of current Tanzania 🇹🇿 President John Magufuli and three former Presidents Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Benjamin Mkapa and Jakaya Kikwete. I can’t relate at all!
What a glaring example of the generational gap between the governing and the governed. You’re saying this to a generation that grew up wearing Timberlands. I can’t even 😂😂😂

In all this, omwavu wakufa riyalle. Vaccine plan, angaazi. Food distribution plan, angaazi. Oxygen production plan, angaazi. Treatment of other ailments plan, angaazi. Any plan, angaazi. We deserve better leadership.
“Attack on sovereignty” is not a great pro-EACOP argument. Then why is EACOP 85% foreign owned and why are you begging foreigners for funding? Our governmental response needs to get its act together. What are you actually doing to address environmental concerns? Focus on that.
Really thrilled to be featured in the Executive Appointments section in Renatus’ weekly M&A newsletter.
I don’t think I can put in words how wonderful this change has been for me and I look forward to impacting the firm positively.
The saddest thing about these illegal detentions is that the generation of people who experienced this trauma in the 70s+80s is revisiting this abuse on much younger generations who shd never have had to deal with it. Were no lessons learnt in the past?

People in that photo — apart from posturing as experts-on-everything on this TL and then calling those wrongfully accused and arrested peaceful protestors “quasi-militant” — what exactly have you done for the cause? Are you not embarazzed?

The reaction to Sheeba
@Ksheebah1
speaking up about her sexual assault is why we women are so petrified to speak up when we are sexually harassed. Let her be.
Wow - just seeing on CNN that we have a Ugandan - Brolin Mawejje - hoping to compete in the Winter Olympics in 2022. Snowboarding. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 This is a story to follow.

I’m a Munyankole with a Mutooro mom. I’ve always knelt to greet my elders, partly coz I’m taller than most of them, partly coz I find it respectful. I personally don’t think it’s a sign of patriarchy or misogyny.
Imagine blowing a 6 months head-start on this coronavirus and still not being prepared for it now that there’s community spread. Especially after seeing all this havoc worldwide! My country 🇺🇬 is special.
Funny how some Ugandans are quick to post black boxes on Instagram and post outrage about police brutality in the USA for days on Twitter and yet are very visibly quiet when this same thing happening in Uganda. We see you and shame on you — you are complicit with your silence!
So proud and honoured to have been ranked again by Chambers and Partners Global as “expertise based abroad” for Uganda. Fourth year in a row! To God be the glory 🙏🏾💃🏽
So people who were tweeting images of Bobi holding a gun (presumably at a shooting range), anha? You people should stop learning to defend the indefensible. Actors in this political space play their own game for their own benefit. When will you learn?

This COVID wave in Uganda is brutal and could have been avoided if there was equitable access to vaccines globally. Wishing anyone in Uganda battling COVID a full and speedy recovery. Thoughts also to all the caretakers of family members battling COVID. This too shall pass 🙏🏾
In some of the most advanced legal systems, qualifying exams have been decentralized, are largely self taught, with one examining body (just like o-level or a-level) exams. But here we are stuck on pre-historic things like reinstating pre-entry exams for LDC.
As a long-time resident of Buziga (20+ years), this only started happening after parts of the swamp between Kansanga and Soya were reclaimed. This is used to be one of the best maintained roads in the city.
WATCH: Aftermath of the Wednesday morning downpour at the bridge in Soya along the Ggaba-Bunga Road. The bridge was recently repaired in preparation for the Non Aligned Movement (NAM)-G77 summits, slated for January 2024.

The fact that the entire TL has turned into financial advisors means people are quite worried about their futures (rightly so, esp with a government like ours).

. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I forgot to mention that I host a podcast

in my free time. New season coming early next year!
I have read most of her tweets on this topic and I agree. People should be paid for their value. I could say A LOT about pay in the Ugandan legal industry, but I’m choosing not to shake those tables today. 🤐🤐🤐
I was working on tv because I loved being on TV but when you grow older you realize it’s not about what you love but your value and how much you are being paid for job!! You are either paid your worth or you walk out!!
Excited to share my latest project—my website “Viewpoints by Brenda Ntambirweki”. I’ll be sharing monthly insights and trends in global M&A; and banking and finance. My first article on emerging trends in M&A deal-structuring post COVID can be found here:
Father’s Day weekend is weighing so heavily on me — second one without my dad. Life just hasn’t been the same without you and the pain just doesn’t go away.
Continue resting in glory JT. Happy Heavenly Father’s Day 🥹🕊️🤎
My latest podcast features
@dfkm1970
on his book “The Politics of Common Sense”. We had such a great chat about time, negative tribalism, apathy, mortality, why our community institutions could enhance governance and, of course, Daudi’s love for music.
Speaking of client confidentiality— what would posses a sane lawyer to divulge confidential information (notwithstanding the inaccuracies) in a “tweef”? So unprofessional. This need to seek validation from internet strangers will drive people nuts.
Someone brought my attention to this post by

about my father Prof. John Ntambirweki. Stories from people my dad has taught or mentored over the years continue to be a wonderful reminder of the great man that he is. Thank you for your kind words. Jackie. GBU.
The irony of the Ugandan parliament still debating at 9pm for very selfish amendments to the constitution 😂 If only they showed this much enthusiasm to debate all issues brought before them 😂😂😂😂
