County Meet 1974, most everyone wore black jerseys. Freshman Mark Claypool ran the 100m and won according to Coach Peterson, but was placed 4th. The next year, we started wearing Orange so there’d be no discrepancy at the finish. We wear these 1 time a year. History is cool.

We'd like to wish Retired Head Coach Ralph Drendel a Happy 72nd Birthday today! Coach Drendel competed for Kaneland from 1965-1968 and is STILL on our top 50 list for High Jump making 6'0" before the Fosbury Flop and foam pits were invented!

3/4 legs of our 4x4 didn’t compete last year due to Wrestling and 2 football injuries. They had a combined 6 competition 400s between all 4 coming into the year. They now are the 11th fastest 4x4 in school history with 3:24.33 and 3rd in class 2A. Unbelievable group. #OGT

149 out of the 184.66 points scored at Varsity Conference were by multi sport athletes 🏈⚽️🏀🏃 9 out of 9 of our coaches were multi sport athletes. 🏈🏀🏃🏌️ Their is no better way to train physically and mentally than to compete. Competing is fun regardless of the sport.

Ralph Drendel was our Head Coach from 1984-2005. In that time span, the program won 6 Conference and 11 Sectionals and 2 State Trophies. One lesson I’ve learned from him: Pick the kids up when they’re down and be their biggest fan when they succeed.
