We REALLY need a full national lockdown - not this half-hearted effort! PLEASE stay at home and keep your kids at home too unless absolutely necessary. This virus isn’t going anywhere and I’m now finding out how absolutely awful it is. Can’t remember ever feeling this ill. 😢

Great first day back and this is exactly why I LOVE teaching #EYFS . A child brought in a piece of a wasp’s nest today. I have a full one stored away so by lunch I’d set this area up, read books about bees and wasps and inspired lots of observational drawing. #EarlyYears 🐝

I’m very pleased to be expanding my role with Bury FC to Head of Women’s and Junior Football. We have had a very successful U12 team this season, managed by Matt Barton and he will be overseeing our new jr section. Exciting times for youth football in the town. Love this club. 💙

Successful last week of term... got the Assistant Head role (maternity cover at my own school) and offered a contract as KS2 SATs marker. Summer term is going to be busy!! So I think I’ll book a holiday for Easter so I’m well rested for the challenge ahead! 😊

I took on a new team last summer when I was doing my #UEFAC . Over 40s mostly inexperienced players, playing in an open aged league. They are a great group of women & they’ve worked so hard. Tonight they won their first match. They are buzzing!! ❤️ #ProudAsPunch #BuryAFC

Was speechless and honoured to be awarded ‘The Spirit of Grassroots Football’ by @Manchester_FA last night. Starting a team 3 years ago for a few mates to have a kick about has evolved into a community club of 200 women of ALL ages & abilities and I could not be any prouder! 🥰

2 matches tonight, club photo shoot for 100+ women at Gigg in the morning, then 80 or so girls from local schools coming down for the men’s match. Followed by the women’s fixture on Sunday. Certainly is @HerGameToo . Just as well I love this club! 😂💙 Now pls no rain!

Today a child in my class made a puppet, I quickly grabbed a cardboard box and helped her make a ‘puppet theatre’. Soon half the class were making puppets and having puppet shows! And I didn’t really teach a thing...just watched, listened and allowed. #lovemyjob #EYFS 1/2

Last week as a teacher…feeling a little sad tonight. 🥺 And youngest has moved into her own flat in town today and eldest goes back to live in Australia in just over a week. Still got the dog who thinks he’s a baby I suppose.

How amazing is Twitter at times! A childhood friend, who I attended dance lessons with for about 15 years in Edinburgh, has just got in touch after seeing a mutal twitter friend reply to my tweet. Not seen her in almost 30 years and turns out we are both #EarlyYears teachers. 🥰

Aww how lovely to be nominated for this! 💙 @OfficialBAFCW was just a little idea 2 years ago and I honestly can’t believe how much it has grown! We’ve had almost 200 women engage in that time and have almost 140 registered/active members. Proud of each and every one.
