Many congratulations to Mr Baker, who received an MBE from HRH The Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle just before half-term. This was in recognition of his services to education through The Obera Schools’ Project, which he established in Rushmere eighteen years ago.

I am delighted to announce that Mr Baker, a teacher here since 2001, has been appointed an MBE the King’s first Birthday Honours List. This is in recognition of his services to education and the community in Obera, Kenya. What a wonderful and richly deserved honour: bravo!

Heartening to receive an email from a member of the public saying how kind one of our Year 7 boys had been. She was sheltering from the rain with her baby in its pram. The young man from KCJS saw they were getting drenched and offered his umbrella, even though he had no coat.
