If we’re really the land of the free, how about we legalize marijuana federally and finally pardon and expunge the records of all people convicted of marijuana related offenses?
You wouldn’t send a plumber to do a surgery, so why do we send armed law enforcement officers to handle mental health crises?
We need to ensure trained mental health professionals are on the front lines of these calls in every community nationwide, not cops.
It’s time to admit that a for-profit healthcare system is inadequate for managing and overcoming a pandemic. We need Medicare for All, and we need it now.
Voter ID laws, particularly ones that require driver’s licenses, don’t just suppress the voting rates of voters of color, but also elderly voters, voters with disabilities, rural voters, and low-income voters.
But Republicans don’t care—because suppression is their goal.
Conservatives are really “Pro-Life” until that life asks for healthcare, a living wage, affordable housing, a debt free education, clean drinking water, clean air, or, for many, basic human rights.
Conservatives are coming for Roe, and they have the perfect SCOTUS composition to gut it and undermine the bodily autonomy of millions.
We can’t keep relying on Roe V. Wade.
We need comprehensive federal legislation to protect abortion rights for every single person in the U.S.
People forget that ICE didn’t exist until 2003, and that for decades our nation operated perfectly well without it.
ICE really only serves one function: terrorizing migrants and communities of color.
That’s not a function we need.
It’s time to abolish it.
It’s time we fight for the millions who have been left out in the cold by our system, not the wealthy few who have benefited from their exclusion and suffering.

SCOTUS is about to overturn Roe V. Wade and they have the audacity to be upset someone leaked that news to the public.
The earthquake isn’t going to be a result of the leak, it’s going to be the result of SCOTUS eroding the rights of millions overnight.

A $7.25 minimum wage looks a lot worse when you put it in terms of what it can buy.
For example, a gallon of 2% milk costs $3.97 on average in the U.S.
That means for every hour you work, you’re making 1.82 gallons.
Do you think anyone’s labor is worth that little? I don’t.
A system that forces people to choose between their rent and lifesaving medications—instead of guaranteeing every person has guaranteed housing and healthcare coverage—is a system in desperate need of change.
Canceling student debt is not a "radical" idea.
Leaving 43 million Americans in crushing debt is.
Universal healthcare is not a "radical" idea.
Leaving millions uninsured or underinsured during a deadly global pandemic is.
