"the moral test of Government is how that Government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped" -former v.p. Hubert Humphrey, 1977
Let me be abruptly clear, when COVID measures and transmission are such that vulnerable people cannot access certain areas of society without running a huge risk of hospitalization or death, then society has failed them. This is basically exclusion of part of our population.
With exploding

cases and rampant transmission, is anyone at public health thinking about what we're going to do once it enters daycares and schools, and children are in pain and we can't fully alleviate their pain
We need to stop this now. We are not prepared for this
To everyone asking people who still wear a mask in public "How long are you going to live like this", are you freaking serious???
It's only a mask. Can you get out of your privileged life for 2 seconds and look around at the rest of the world and get your priorities straight?๐คจ
I am very sad today. It has become really clear recently that this pandemic will not end soon and when it will, all that was loss will be too much to bare.
The best advice I can give right now on how to best get ahead to anyone starting their professional career would be not to catch Covid or to get infected as few times as possible.
It will pay off dividends later.
For those of you who think, even remotely, that this virus is like a cold or the flu, you're in for a rough ride. You're not going to like the next few years ๐
Why You Should Restโa LotโIf You Have COVID-19
"The only guaranteed way to avoid Long COVID is not to get infected by SARS-CoV-2. But if someone does get sick, โRest is incredibly important to give your body and your immune system a chance to fight off.."
The current narrative around Covid-19 is such that I feel and that I'm raising children in the middle of a war and that policy makers have decided that their lives, and the lives of all children, are acceptable collateral damage.
So this just happened. I was verbally harassed for wearing a mask. I looked at the person, stood my ground and continued with my business.
Now, I'm physically and mentally strong. I can take on a thousand pathetic person like this one. But this is not the case of everyone.

I know one thing and it is this: people advocating for the mass infection of kids with a novel pathogen should not be trusted with anything anymore.

I'm afraid that when parents realize that their kids are left with lifelong sequelae, it will be too late.
