A Zionist is a person who believes Jews should be able to return to their 3,500 year old historic homeland of Zion.
I am proudly, unapologetcally, and vehemently a Zionist.
Hey! Today we released the new - app store for Windows. ๐ Proud of this work!
It's built with web components, using

Wait till they hear who wrote the the New Testament.
It's like these anti-Semites never considered that Christianity's core -- indeed its founder, his earliest followers, even there very idea a messiah -- are all Jewish.

Fair question.
It's not special pleading to say God is eternal; atheists had said the same of the universe itself until evidence to the contrary was discovered in the mid-20th century.
Eternal things don't have a beginning; uncreated.

The old site was a React codebase built on an obsoleted UI framework. We created a fresh user experience with a thoughtfully designed interface, easier ways to discover new apps, modern web tech stack. I hope folks will find it useful.

But Jews are indigenous to Israel for 3,500 years.
"They attacked because of occupation."
But Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005.
"They attacked because they are not free."
But Israel has offered statehood 6 times.

I've built SPAs in React, Angular, Vue, Knockout, and others. SPA frameworks were once needed because the web had no concept of self-contained components with data binding, change detection, etc.
Now that web components are part of the web, there's less need for such frameworks.

We considered it and experimented with an early Fast prototype when we started. Fast was missing a few components we needed. Shoelace had them. After discussing with the team, we went forward with Lit+Shoelace.

Three big social media PWAs are now in the Microsoft Store. They are pinned to my start menu. They are eating into my productivity.

My younger brother was found drowned today. CPR resuscitated him, but he is in a coma in the hospital. Please pray for him and read a psalm on his behalf.

This is the same old pantheism in a nutshell thatโs been around (and debunked) for thousands of years. Nature is the creation, not the creator.
And men have been worshipping nature (sun gods, tree gods, fertility gods and goddesses) forever.
Truly an ignorant quote.

Think of this as the web front to the app store on Windows. They work together.
I work on the same team as the Store desktop app team - they're great folks building the best in-box app on Windows. I wish more Windows in-box apps were as well-crafted as Store.
The gif above shows instant successive sign-in using the new Credential Management APIs. I was previously unware of these APIs, and I suspect a lot of devs are too. Read more about it here:

Kudos for standing your ground. The political correctness mob has gone too far and posts like yours are a natural and needed pushback. Thanks for making this.

Super impressed by your communication skills during Google IO. You're lighthearted and goofy, but not over-the-top and forced. I enjoyed!
Also, this API is very exciting to me and I can't wait to start using it. I think it further closes the gap between native and web. ๐ฏ

Jerusalem has been the center of Judaism for 3500 years; a full 1500 years before Muhammed was born. I sincerely don't understand how Muslims can claim something that predates their own religion.

Also, it was a righteous Pharisee who gave Jesus an honorable burial.
Christians mistake Jesus' in-house critique of religious hypocrisy for wholesale condemnation of all Pharisees (or worse, all Jews).
Imagine if Jesus came today and critiqued the hypocrisy of e.g. a TV
Anti-Israel activists misuse the labels genocide and apartheid.

Having to use CosmosDB at work has reminded me just how amazing RavenDB is.
The capabilities, the tooling, the API design, the cost: in all these and more, Raven is simply light years ahead.
I've tried both Cosmos SQL API and Table API. Maybe the Mongo API will be better.
I love web components, but one thing I don't like: component creep.
<Foo-Button> instead of <button>.
<App-Link> instead of <a>.
etc.
Each with their own proprietary attributes I have to learn.
And it's encouraged because shadow DOM breaks global styles.

Working the trades is great! But brutal honesty: tech work pays more. Way more. Not even close.
I say this with some authority: I work in tech, family in trades. Salaries are not at all comparable; junior tech workers often make more than mid-to-senior trade workers.

Good observation.
I'm a Zionist very much in favor of Israel against the evils of genocidal Hamas. But I would never say there are no bounds to Israel's retaliation. Most folks on this side of the fence would agree: Israel should never deliberately murder civilians, rape,
