Yesterday was Seoul Smash 18 and a 13 yr old that has never attended an offline event in their life showed up and beat the 2 best players in Korea. Venue was hype and there is a lot of excitement in the community, it reminded me of our first Seoul Smashes.

One of the worst takes is when I hear of people saying Korean BBQ is better in _____ than Korea. Sorry, your overpriced LA/NY shit with 3 piddly side dishes doesn't cut it - and neither does the yakiniku in Japan, shit is so overpriced and not nearly as good.

Korean Smashers.. once we are safe from Corona (have faith!) And can resume offline events, we will probably rework our stage list for Seoul Smash/Uprising(?). Input is welcome! One thing for sure, PS1 is out and PS2 is in to be more in line with other regions.

There are still cases popping up in Korea (43 today), but it's good to see recoveries outpacing new cases. Reminder that Korea has NEVER shutdown (bars, malls, etc, all stayed open). High amounts of testing, track and trace protocols, and EVERYONE wearing masks are the answer.

Yesterday Korea made it under 1000 active cases in the whole country while still testing 10-20k people a day (tests focused on those in contact with cases). Down to 937 today. Amazing work but it's not going away anytime soon. Clusters will keep popping up until we have a vaccine

Can't help but think so many Korean Smashers would be so much better if they just stuck with a character. All the good Korean players are constantly changing chars and working on pocket chars and their mains still need so much work to compete with players from other regions.

Making people start in losers bracket is the thing now huh? Seoul Smash events will now start anyone who sits down for a bracket match and starts making a Mii automatically move to the losers bracket.

Overall EVO Japan was a cool experience for our community. It was the first time Korean Smash was able to send a crew (more than 1-2 people) to an international event and it was cool to see everyone support eachother. Now to prepare for Seoul Smash 12 at the new venue!

Everyone is happy that Dreamhack finals ended earlier than most Smash events, but being in Korea I always appreciate how late most events run, I get my Monday morning brunch while watching a stream. Disappointed it was all wrapped up by the time I got up! Congrats to Marss
