the Wet’suwet’en territory isn’t in Canada. colonial maps lie. Canada never bought it, was never given it. it is sovereign as in IT IS NOT CANADA. its land defenders are not “protesters.” they’re not staging a “pipeline protest.” they’re fighting a foreign invasion.

“strongly recommending” masking at an event reliably means that almost no one masks. require it and people mask, no problem. so what’s stopping left & labour & queer event organizers from requiring masking? who are you afraid that’ll alienate, and why are they your priority?

47-year-old teacher intubated at Toronto Western. seems to have gotten COVID from a student. “totally healthy” beforehand, though that’s fucking besides the point. and the people in power absolutely do not care. workers get tubes & triage while Ford eats Easter dinner.

solidarity forever & ever with the Manitoba students walking out for COVID safety on Monday! 23 schools so far! this is more meaningful action in defence of public health than is currently on offer from ANY GOVERNING OFFICIAL IN THIS FAKE COUNTRY

no one: literally no one: me: the “middle class” isn’t a class, it’s a structure of nostalgia for a place that never existed & a history that never happened

said it before, will keep saying it: providing & requiring the use of N95s during the ongoing pandemic is an important form of anti-fascist direct action

it is profoundly antisemitic to believe & assert that there’s anything about the essence of Judaism that would support the Israeli state’s campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people. what Israel is doing is an unimaginably vicious betrayal of the Jewish spirit of justice

it is literally countercultural today to rapid-test routinely before gathering indoors unmasked, or to mask outdoors in crowded places, or for an event to urge attendees to wear specifically N95+ masks and maybe even provide them. we should defend & expand that counterculture
