I had no idea what I was doing when I started telling Alabama’s ghost stories on TikTok. I just knew I was on to something. Now I’m able to tell Alabama history, a lot of it being Black, and none of my followers crucify me. Instead, they’re just taking it in. That blows my mind.

We hosted poetry night in our shop tonight with our local library and it was incredible. It was personal, vulnerable, and a safe space. I didn’t realize that until the they came up and told me how unique that is. THAT is what I’m the most proud of to hear about what we’ve built.

On a serious note, the potential TikTok ban is concerning to me. I think it can set a tone for how much power can be wielded at the highest levels of government for every day things. That actually terrifies me considering how low the bar is for people in authority to be decent.
