@Music
I see why you feel entitled to forcefully take usernames like
@music
and
@x
.
I would feel entitled to do the same if I had paid $44 billion for Twitter.
I wouldn’t have done it though..
It’s def a strategic “miss” on a sizable revenue opportunity with the username market.
Sold 3 domains today with 1 more pending!
Not bad for a Thanksgiving holiday!
I’m grateful for the opportunities life gives us and the relationships I’ve developed with members of this community/industry.
You are both colleagues and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Someone bought a domain on DNWE last year for $xxx and sold it recently for well into six figures.
Say what you will... I say winners find a way to win. Losers find a way to complain.
Hey 👋🏻
If you’re reading this then you’re early.
I’ll be launching a new product/service in September.
It will solve one of the biggest problems for both investors & end-users and I’m very excited about it.

I'm planning for an initial BETA launch on Oct 1st. Shortly after we'll be pushing this pretty heavily to end-users/collectors/builders etc.
I bought my first domain around 2014.
First appearence on Domain Sherpa was June 2017 (didn't really know shit).
It didn't fully click until 2019/2020.
Learning this trade takes time. There are no short cuts.
Special thanks to the community and our partners for helping us build
@DNWE_com
over the past 4 years.
I enjoyed it, and will miss running it however I’m looking forward to the future.
Plenty of great opportunities in our space. To be continued…
If I could give only ONE piece of advice on how to be a successful domain investor it would be this...
Forget about your personal preferences. Forget about what you think is right or wrong when it comes to naming and branding.
Purely focus on verifiable data.
@isabella_patane
Squatter?
They paid $40k to invest in valuable digital real estate.
Meanwhile you offered a measly $200. You tell me which party seems to resemble a “squatter”…
Most people are looking for reasons why their names aren’t selling. Landers, reg path, slow economy, summer holidays, etc etc.
The reality is that unless you have thousands of high quality names you’ll certainly have dry spells. If you have low quality names, you’ll need tens of

Then you also have Sav (only 4% commission), Sedo, Dynadot, Atom, and BrandBucket…
No shortage of options right now. Am I missing any obvious ones?
Picked up this category killer. One of the few names I like with the “ing” ending.
Prototyping with AI is a game changer, and plenty of innovation and growth in this industry across many verticals.
Here's a secret that the commentators don't tell you.
Those that bought the right .co names are still selling .co names.
Those that bought the right .io names are still selling .io names.
Those that bought the right .xyz names are still selling .xyz names.
And guess what...
Your domain is your brand, and while .com often portrays dominance, repurposed ccTLD’s and some new gTLDs are beginning to portray other desirable branding attributes.
Things are shifting.
As a top 10 seller on
@squadhelp
I want to say that my experience with them over the last 3 years has been nothing but positive. Darpan and his team are unmatched in goodwill, professionalism and results.
They will continue to thrive.
Domainers think that domain related businesses should charge zero commission and give away their products for free.
Meanwhile their daily pitch is that businesses should spend hundreds of thousands on a domain.
😂😂😂
Picked up in auction today. I own a bunch of other "grid" names because the energy/power industry is an area I'm fairly familiar with.
I also co-own with
@BradenPollock

One of the big advantages of selling your domains through
@GoDaddy
is the buyers shift in mindset.
Buying a domain from GD is normal.
Buying a domain from a “squatter” is not.
Remember that your buyer is completely uneducated in this space.
Understanding what constitutes as a great SLD in alt extensions is a massively overlooked skill.
What might be great in .com is often not good in .io/.co/.ai/.xyz.
I use
@afternic
landers for 99% of domains and plan to continue doing so.
At this point I’ll opt out of paying the extra 5% but I’m open to changing my mind.
Don’t forget that
@GoDaddy
is by far the most trusted brand in our space. This counts for a lot when selling domains.
I nearly always regret not pulling the trigger on domains I’m thinking about buying.
A while ago, I lost out on but fortunately that person bought it on a payment plan and stopped paying.
When it was relisted, I took my 2nd chance.
Couple of notes about
@GetThatDomain
.
1) I can’t emphasize enough that this is a product that will evolve/change massively over time. I like building in public.
2) While the product is being built for end-users as the target audience we will certainly be adding more features
I'm not one for conspiracies but it feels like my Atom (
@squadhelp
) account got throttled somehow... 6 months without a sale or even an inquiry. Prior to that I was a top 10 seller. Still 13th in overall sales but 6 months without an inquiry or offer is wild.
Q: How many .io registrations are there?
A: Way over a million.
Q: How many companies have built their brand on a .io domain?
A: Tens of thousands.
Q: What's the cumulative investment in the extension?
A: Hundreds of millions.
Conclusion: The ccTLD has unprecedented
Taking a hiatus from anything domain related (including Sherpa).
GL to everyone trying to navigate/learn this space. Be careful with the information you choose to consume. It’s a bit hectic out there!
Really nice domain & brand sold almost immediately for $7,500~ on
@DNWE_com
.
Never got curated because it sold so quick (I was sleeping).
Super simple transaction for our buyer and seller thanks to

When I launched
@DNWE_com
I remember being very excited.
I knew it was something domainers would benefit from.
What I wasn’t really expecting was the random hate and complaining from various people. “This isn’t fair” “That’s a terrible idea” “you’re playing favorites” “Why
Very close to opening an indoor pickleball club in North East Florida.
Despite being quite bullish on my ability to execute a good business model, It would be a pure passion project.
Domains have killed my appetite to invest in anything other than domains. The ROI isn't as fun.
If you can't have friendly discourse on
@X
then you should remove yourself from all social media. Maybe head over to Tik Tok or something.
Friends and colleagues can respectfully disagree with each other and shouldn't be afraid to voice opinions.
Seeing the popularity of My as a keyword in this
#afternic
list gives me more confidence in .my TLD becoming popular , with the right SLD on The other side of the dot !!
Always respect both sides of the DOT as they are integral to each other

I specifically lowered prices at the beginning of August because July was slow.
Now I've caught up on sales, should I bump prices back up or keep it rolling?
I’m happy with how we’ve started the year at
@DNWE_com
. Some really good sales and improvements with more in the pipeline.
Not so happy with my own sales but sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad.
PokerAddict (.com) is a really good domain and brand…
Can the same be said for BettingAddict (.com) ??
These are the important nuances in understanding the domain market.
You can go from zero industry knowledge, flipping domains for $xx to vast industry knowledge selling names for $x,xxx,xxx within 5~ years.
It doesn’t happen overnight but it can be done.
Looks like I had a little over 900 names not opted into fast transfer. Make sure you are checking this periodically because it certainly effects sell through rates.
Kind of surprised by these results.
Personally I’d never price anywhere near $300k. Probably more like $10k.
On the other hand I would price in the $50k range.
