It is with a heavy heart to report that Mittens, the beloved train cat, departed her favourite station for the last time at 1645 23 June 2023. Adored and loved by many. Always missed. Run free, my beautiful lady.
So. 2-6-3 Bell code sent. Or possible trespassers. 33201 gets sent to investigate the mysterious goings on at Ravens tunnel.

Bit of on train footage with cube. First go at this. I learned something. Some track is quite poor and shockingly laid. It also shows where I need to catch up with finishing off scenics. Any way. Watch out for the cat. 31111 goes to rescue 33206 (2 parts)

Part 2 on train footage of 31111. After narrowly missing mittens first time the second time was inevitable. Note how close the 33 is to the edge. Something I've also dealt with.

Completely blown away by the response to mittens video. Thank you all for such kindness. If your going to use it please give credit where its due. Its only fair. This was mittens going in. She turned around inside and sat for about 15 mins

Mittens has decided to branch out on her own. I will still post her when I can but,
Please give her a follow on twitter,

Thank you

So, I remove some scenery for cleaning/ repairs. Of course Mittens has to sit in that spot. As usual stepping out of harms way just in time as 40075 comes along.

Had some company in the loft. Mittens heard some rats were out. Perhaps it doesnt translate so well into cat. Anyway. 25054 and 25279 do the honours thru thrupence cutting.

New loop starts just inside the tunnel and will be hidden along the back wall eventually. I think mittens thought the train was being wrong routed so tried to intervene. Amazingly missed the overheads.

My decision in 2019 to totally rebuild the layout in the loft based on summer 1981 revolved around
@accurascale
deltics. It's been a long time coming but the deltics 5/18/22 have arrived. Very impressed. Few niggles I've sorted. What a sound. What detail. Superb.

Trying to sum up 1981. Chasing deltics. Trying to get the attention of the driver to cab a deltic. Frantically unrolling the paper to get a rubbing of the name plate. Smartly turned out 55005 awaits the road with the up 'White Rose'
OTD 31 years ago. Decided to call it a day with the 1410 kings cross Leeds from Doncaster to Wakefield. The 91 failed. And a hastily arranged 56068 dropped on the front. Got a feeling
@sjpowermac
got on this at Wakefield. Mk3s so window open all the way.

He's very lovely but has so much energy he can be overpowering. He may post pleasant pics and vids. But I'll be posting the monster ones. Sorry boots.

Made a very late decision (last night) to visit Barrow Hill today. Some quality traction. BR Blue my preferred media of course. Bought a few books and some cars for the layout. Thanks to my good friend Marcus for the company.

OTD 31 years ago a couple of 37s at Doncaster. And finally the reason for highlighting this particular week? I didnt realise it at the time, but after 10 years of bashing & 1,462 different locos I never did it again. The magic had gone.

Been away for a while. Thanks for the messages of support. I'd like to appeal to all my colleagues in the driver role. Try to ignore the idiots regarding automation, wages and demeaning our role.
It's pointless. Ignoring is more fun.
Have some NEVER being automated locos.

OTD 3 yrs ago. 6Z55 Milford-Neville Hill. Castleford. Waving at my now sadly departed Mother. (Sat in car). A wonderful lady who spent hours with me following Deltics when I was just a boy. Was quite possibly one of the finest moments of my life.

Hornby class 31. 2x 50. 87. Full 10 car HST. All S/H. Some of my best models. NOT TAT. I try very hard not to be controversial. However, I don't like the way this group is turning. I'm not mentioning names. I'm neither for or against anyone. Probably regret this. But..
Cracking shift. Greens all the way today. Loco swap. Drax. Immingham Knottingley. 66078. Early on every trip. Saw 2 trains all day. Both biomass. Sudforth Lane and drax.

So thats the end of that. The last HTAs on the final DB train out of Worksop. 28 to Milford as 6Z66 1033 departure. Both up and down sidings are very busy for HNRC still but since the demise of coal the work just dried up.
