It's always wild to think that these two vehicles (A320 Neo vs Challenger 3) are essentially the same weight despite the vast disparity in size. In fact, in full 'heavy' spec the CR3 will be heavier than the A320Neo at MTOW!

Talk about this a lot. Real life isnt Top Trumps or World of Tanks, 25 mm may not penetrate frontal arc best armour thickness, doesn't mean its not having big effects. Autocannon rounds constantly slamming into a tank have rapid physical and psychological effect

The 140 mm gun on Leclerc remains an absolute monster. That recoil impulse is enormous, and anyone on foot unlucky enough to be remotely near when it fires (with a brake too!) are going to be really miserable for a bit.

The elegant goings on of the CT40 weapon system and its rotating breech, fed through the trunion axis to allow feeding at any elevation. Turret intrusion is also very small for a 40 mm class weapon - interior shots of Jaguar are amazingly spacious.

KMW's EMBT at Eurosatory last month. Despite not grabbing many headlines compared to Rheinmetall's KF-51 Panther, this was the more exciting vehicle and pointed more clearly towards some of the major elements of what next-gen means for contemporary tank designs.

France has ordered Scorpion Tranche 4 (TC4) consisting of 88 more Jaguar and 302 more Griffons (adding to the 150 and 909 already ordered respectively). Represents half of the plan now committed to for these vehicles. More affirmative progress to a committed plan.

M1A1 using FLEXCEL Liquid Containment system tanks (used in 50- and 80-gallon sizes). Can carry any liquid, but particularly useful for fuel - line up, connect to the vehicle and then reverse over them to force the fuel out. Can be airdropped (allegedly without parachute).

Turns out damage to 🇺🇦 Patriot was caused by flying roof tiles from nearby impacts, all now repaired. Lesson learned is to site such delicate systems away from buildings and other sources of debris rather than the understandable instinct to shelter in dense terrain
