I have a confession, and it took me this long in my life to realize it. You will all think I'm crazy, but, I love shovelling snow. It's excellent physical activity (I take frequent breaks). The air is so fresh and so cold and when the job is finished it's so rewarding. I'm nuts.

Update. After 6.5 hours in the ER my sister took my mother, who has stage 4 cancer, out of the ER and took her home... without being seen. She was in considerable pain and just wanted to go home and rest. We gave her all the pain meds we could. All she needed was antibiotics.

My father, sequestered at St. Clare's until an LTC bed is available, celebrated his 85th birthday today. While he has the hospital TV, it doesn't carry @rogerstv . So he can't watch the @BlueJays . We could get him a number of devices but no wi-fi on the ward. Suggestions?

Only going out for groceries, gas and to take my wife, who is a teacher in Mount Pearl, to school because for some reason 28-30 children in a classroom with no social distancing doesn't count as part of a circuit breaker. Not eating out, not doing appointments, not voting either.

I can't stop thinking about that one person in NL who has been in hospital for weeks with Covid-19. I know that is comparatively ridiculous considering what's going on elsewhere. I hope the patient and family are doing alright.

Tonight the #MountPearlSnowBrigade levelled uo from infantry to a light armoured unit. With the help of a 1.5 ton loader and snowblower we destroyed mountains, freed up 4 oil tanks, fixed a snowed in car with a replacement battery and may or may not have saved some trapped cats.

We are a province led by doctors, and yet 100,000 don't have a family doctor. Citizens are screaming in pain in ERs and no one. NO ONE! has the courage to do what needs to be done. Absolutely ravage Eastern Health's management. Put the money into more Doctors, RNs and LPNs.

The drive into Corner Brook in the fall is spectacular. The reds and the oranges pop. The Appalachians do not disappoint. Such a juxtaposition of the barren rugged Avalon. We live in one of the most incredible places on the planet. We need to own it.

There’ll be separate 19+ theaters for alcohol purchases. I’ve been to VIP Cinemas in NYC & Toronto. Nobody is rowdy, nobody is on their phone (this more common in the larger cinemas). There’ll be no kids there at all. Nobody will be doing upside down Tequila shots during Frozen.

This man had to give up his dog to the Humane Society due to undergoing a lengthy hospital stay. One of the nurses found out and immediately went to the shelter to adopt his dog. She brings him to visit daily and will return him as soon as the man is well enough to go home
