After six years at @SInow , it's over. I can't begin to articulate the fun I had covering damn near everything: the College Football Playoff, Super Bowl, Masters, Stanley Cup, World Series. This industry can be heartbreaking, but I don't want out. If you're hiring, I'm all ears.

I’ve always wondered if maybe my memories of 2001-11 Albert Pujols were just a little bit tinged with hyperbole. I was a kid. I worshipped him. The most amazing thing about these past few months is the reassurance that those memories aren’t overstated at all.

No, what was "awesome" were the six decades where SI was the standard in the industry, staffed by generations of writers who gave their hearts and souls to a beautiful, smart magazine. And I'm honored I got a chance to be part of that. This story (and that quote) makes me sick.

Great Broncos stat from a @billbarnwell story: Denver is averaging 44.8 ppg, which is more than the Jaguars or Bucs have scored ALL YEAR.

I’m trying to find my dad at Bellerive, and cell service sucks. If anyone sees a 63-year-old white dude in a polo and a bucket hat and oh my god there are 850 clones of Tom Niesen within 500 feet of me.

I spent every non-sports moment I had this weekend watching Unbelievable, and holy crap. It should be required viewing in 2019. And on top of how deftly the series handles the subject matter, Merritt Wever, Toni Collette and Kaitlyn Dever all have unreal performances.

I'm teaching a sports journalism class at Georgetown this semester, and today we're discussing the industry/careers. Which is to say, HELP! Fellow sports journalists, what's one piece of advice about the industry/job market you'd give a young person considering doing this?
