Catholic convert, apologist, pilgrimage guide, author, movie producer, speaker, traveller, bird-watcher, walker - mostly husband, father and grandfather of 20.
Looks like my 100-year-old faithul and devout mother is about to die this week. She has stopped eating and drinking. She whispers, "I want to see Jesus." Say a prayer for her if you remember. Here with one of my grandsons, her great-grandson before she made this deep decline.
My mother died today on Mothers Day. Thanks everyone for your love, prayers and fond memories. At a theater now where our grandkids are in a Shakespeare play. It’s a tribute to their great grandmother—no where I'd rather be—watching her great grandkids put on a play in her honor.
Cupich & McElroy at USCCB meeting stating that Citizenship doc wasn’t true to papal teaching because it says that “abortion is the preeminent issue.” Chaput & Strickland got up challenged them by name & the Bishops applauded -- and then voted down Cupich’s amendment!! Yea!!
The pope apologized to people “who were offended” by the Pachamama idols being tossed in the Tiber River. Did he ever think to apologize to the millions of Catholics who are offended by having pagan idols in the church to begin with?
Cardinal Cupich gave the invocation at the Democratic National Convention as medical vans arrive for free abortions and vasectomies as the DNC pushes the most anti-Catholic, anti-life agenda in history. It says a lot about this guy, the Pope’s Cardinal in America.
Joe Biden claims to be a devout Catholic and the media says that is good! But why then is it bad that Judge Amy Coney Barrett is a devout Catholic? I’m confused 😐
Over the coming weeks we are going to hear a lot of people telling us conservative Catholics who love the church, “to just calm down.” Might I suggest that we’ve been calm long enough. I for one will continue speaking. I’m calm but I’m not going to be quiet and I will fight.
Cardinal Dolan would have given VP Biden Communion. We learn a lot about people (prelates) by what they say and do. I personally applaud Fr. Morey for denying pro-abort Biden Communion.
Sorry Pope Francis. I will continue to share my conversion story, continue to teach the truth and superiority of Catholic Christianity and continue to evangelize EVERYONE! If we have the truth, which you are supposed to teach, then EVERYONE should be challenged to convert!
On Friday, Pope Francis visited a High School in Rome and told the students: “To be consistent in your faith you cannot say to Jewish or Muslim kids ‘come and be converted’. This coherence will make you mature. We are not in the time of the crusades”
Actor Jim Caviezel confirmed that Mel Gibson is working on a sequel to 2004's "The Passion of the Christ." “It’s going to be the biggest film in world history” depicting the events surrounding Christ’s Resurrection, Caviezel said. The film is scheduled for a 2022 release.
Today Janet and I celebrate 47 years of marriage. It was the best thing I ever did, along with us both becoming Catholic. Pictures before and now (2 babies added since the family picture 3 years ago).
Our daughter Charlotte was told she could not have children. In the hospital now giving birth to our 18th grandchild. Her sudden ability to conceive was a miracle of the intercession of St. Charbel in Lebanon. Her first boy is adopted. Linnea was natural. Picture taken a year ago
Might I dare suggest to the Pope, it is not exposing the sins of the bishops which scandalize the people. Rather, it is the sins of the bishops that scandalize the people.
I just received an e-mail from a woman who thanked me for my talk "Peter: the Rock, the Keys & the Chair". She said it was that talk that brought her out of the Jehovahs Witnesses into the Catholic Church. (Pause) Excuse me, I seem to have a lump in my throat.
If following the problems of the Pope and the Vatican is causing you to stumble, be depressed and anxious— just live out your Catholic life locally and be holy. This is what Catholics all did before the prevalence of the mass media.
Dr. David Anders was a Calvinist who pursued his PhD to disprove the Catholic Faith.
He came out Catholic.
In this
@chnetwork
interview, he explains his realization that Christ established the authority of the Church first, from which proceeded Scripture and the canon.
With a very sad heart, we learned yesterday that Al Kresta’s cancer has progressed beyond treatment. He’s back home and his 21 grandkids gathered around to say goodbye. We don’t know how long he’ll be with us so pray that the veil between heaven and earth is very thin and that Al
Did anyone else wonder why Wallace asked Trump to denounce white supremacists (which Trump has done repeatedly) but never asked Biden to condemn Black Lives Matter and Antifa who are the real cause of all the chaos in the cities?
Sweat is mentioned 3 times in Scripture. 1st Adam was cast from the Garden to labor by the sweat of his brow, death followed.
The 3rd time is in the Garden of Gethsemane - the New Adam stepped into a garden and sweat blood from his brow followed by death, reversing Adam's sin.
I don’t know about you, but I dread the month of June where I’ll have rainbow flags waved in my face everywhere I go. I can’t even avoid it on the computer. Sorry if I sound non-inclusive, but I am, and I don’t accept such immorality, nor do I want it shoved down my throat!
My wife and I spent time with Al Kresta and his family yesterday. This morning we were informed that Al has left this world to be with his Lord whom he loved with all his heart. Below is one oh his last pictures. I can’t get this verse out of my mind…
Acts 3:8 “And leaping up,
Watching the rioting and looting? This is what happens when you take God out of society and the fathers out to families. Yes there are injustices in our country, but this mayhem are caused by lack of God and strong fathers.
Pope Francis canceling his “enemy” Cardinal Burke’s apartment and salary as a Cardinal is unbelievable. This is more of schoolyard antics than the way professionals and Church officials should conduct themselves. Who and what is next?
Thirty years ago today I called Al Kresta and said, "Happy New Year! Guess what, I am a Catholic!" There was stunned silence at other end. Finally he replied, "What did you say? You are the last person I thought would ever say that!"
The switch had flipped. After studying
Back to Mass for 1st time in 3 weeks since knee surgery. My eyes welled with tears to be back in the Lord's House.
Thanks to my daughter Emily who brought communion for 3 weeks.
Bit-by-bit getting better. Long way to go but good progress.
Thanks ALL for your prayers.
Today is May 22. Twenty-five years ago this date fell on Pentecost Sunday 1994. On that day our family was received into the Catholic Church. We never looked back.
I am all about evangelization & apologetics. But evangelization is awful hard when you’re trying to promote a church that’s run by a bunch of rogues all the way to the top. Let’s clean house so we can get evangelization going again.
Just watched Trump’s speech in Georgia. It was probably his best speech ever. I love it that he is not conceding and is declaring “war“ on the whole corrupt system. We all have to stand behind him and defend him against the corruption and deceitfulness of this recent election.
Trump impeached again. If I were President Trump I would consider this to be the highest honor. That he has made such enemies of the communist socialist leftist that they impeach him again, this is a badge of honor—a true American! God bless President Trump!
Today I have been married 43 years to this beautiful woman, the best friend, lover, mother of kids, partner and everything else a great wife can be. Thanks Janet! And thanks to God!
The answer to that question is easy. The Church is all about Jesus not the pope or the bishops. Good and bad popes and bishops come and go. Jesus always remains and it’s HIS Church that he started. That’s why we remain Catholic. We believe in Christ and truth will always prevail.
We expect our priests to preach the truth in all areas that affect us as Catholics and human beings which includes politics. Woe are we if priests are silent in this important aspect of our lives.
Please read and share about Card Burke
"The Cardinal’s condition is grave, the next 48 hours will be crucial if he lives or dies. He's on a ventilator with severe pneumonia; not responding to treatment. Not optimistic about his chances of survival. Thank you for the prayers."
I’ve been a Catholic for 26 years and don’t think I’ve ever heard of homily on hell. But this morning at our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth MI I heard one of the finest sermons ever preached on hell. God bless Fr. Michael!

It is unclear to me why Pope Francis believes that Christians should try to convince people of the evils of climate change and the benefits of immigration but should not try to convince people of the truth of Christianity.
Our youngest granddaughter learns to crawl—but the laugh and tease is the BEST! The joys and rewards of motherhood and fatherhood and being grandparents. Contrary to the views of the secular world, God was brilliant to when he invented families!
Twitter has become the enemy of Catholics and American patriots. How can we continue to support and patronize the enemy? I will be transitioning to parlor which is a conservative platform. Join me at Parler. It’s time we Catholics took a stand and quit cooperating with the enemy.
Does anyone else get the feeling that our bishops have become more politicians than shepherds? More to preserve their jobs and favor with the Pope than to defend the faith and maybe be martyrs?
With Cardinal Burke in La Crosse WI. He is a Prince of the Church. Personable, gentlemanly, gracious with everyone in our group and a very humble and wise man.
Janet and I attended Mass this morning. Surreal. Only 20 people allowed in a church that holds over 1,500. Masks used (we only wore while entering and exiting). Wonderful to be in the presence of our Lord and receive communion again, but very strange!
Is praying the Rosary monotonous at times? Well, here are two little practices that may keep your mind focused and make you aware of what you are really praying — the meaning of the prayer and the words.
📷First, a few weeks ago I shared the chart I made of the Scriptural
The choice is clear this election. Not to vote for Trump is to vote for the most anti-life, anti-Catholic and anti-Democratic regime ever to show their face in America. They are Communists at heart. Trump is best for our economy, international relations, religious freedoms. He is
Went to confession for the first time in a long while due to virus hysteria shutdowns. When we arrived the priest said “No confessions due to virus increases.” We turned to leave but he had compassion and said, “Just for you two, quickly.” Thanks Father!
Just watching the news with Steve Bannon; Twitter and YouTube cut his live show right in the middle of it. They said he violated their rules; he was saying President Trump is still president. We watched it happen right before our eyes. We are heading towards totalitarianism!
“Who is going to save our Church? Do not look to the priests. Do not look to the bishops. It’s up to you, the laity, to remind our priests to be priests and our bishops to be bishops.” - Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Bingo! Grand baby No. 18 Elizabeth Jane Sorrill. Proud of my daughter. Second natural birth from my daughter who was for years “infertile”. Thanks to God and the intercession of St. Charbel.
“I will never abandon man to the ravings of the enemies of human nature. I am not here to be popular. Bishops have paid the price of blood for having opposed Nazism, Communism and all sorts of racism. Never will I be complicit in my silence in this new ideology.”
- Cardinal Sarah
The Pope's comments in Singapore are quite shocking. I think Fr. Longenecker responds correctly.
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
All religions MAY be a way toward God (as paganism and Judaism were stepping stones to Christianity) but its not automatic or guaranteed, therefore evangelization continues to be necessary and indifferentism is to be condemned.
The feared news falls as the Pope cuts a good bishop off at the kneecaps. And why? Good question. We will await an answer. It seems the Pope will broach no opposition or "rigidness". This will paralyze other bishops who fear the heavy-handed tactics of Francis and his Vatican.
I am a regent of Ave Maria University and was involved in the beginning with its institution. I will be investigating if this is true. I will be resigning as a regent if I find out this is their position.
If the Scottish monks “cut themselves off,” I certainly cannot condone. To speak out, to educate, to ring the alarm - fine. But waiting is the proper course. I eschew schisms, and mutiny is not in my vocabulary. I joined the one Church. No more a protest-ant.
Remember in the year 2000 the media called the election for Al Gore. However after over a month George Bush was president after the courts were finished. Don’t give up!
They projected the deaths through the roof;
Now we see it was all but a spoof
But the numbers inflated
Economies castrated
And the wealth of a nation goes poof.
Let me be clear, I am a Catholic bishop, I support Pope Francis as Vicar of Christ. As a bishop it is my duty to speak up when I see the Sanctity of the Life of the unborn being threatened. I will continue to speak up when I see the deposit of Faith being undermined.
Oh well, since it’s Pride Month I admit that I am proud to be a man who has loved only one woman for 48 years and I am in a covenant of holy matrimony with her! We have four kids and 20 grandkids. I love being masculine and I love it that my wife is feminine and we are both PROUD
So the Pope responds. Prayer? Is that it? What about searching out the criminals - the facilitators, the silent - have them arrested, defrocked, imprisoned? We can pray for them next week. Nothing short of that is acceptable. Tired of platitudes.
This is why I love being Catholic. It’s about Jesus - much bigger than the pope and gay prelates. At Transfiguration it ends, “They saw no one but Jesus alone.” I’m sticking with Jesus and his Church which marches victorious thru the ages.
Today my mother turned 100 years old and with my three brothers we celebrated her birthday with a nice dinner. She is an amazing lady, very much in love with the Lord and very alert. God bless her!
I can no longer in good conscience support Twitter and Facebook. I will soon be leaving both. You’ll have to come to my website at to keep updated. Alternatives? I have been using parlor but that seems in trouble now too. Any suggestions?
Amazing encounter upon arriving in Rome! A guy called out my name. He was wearing a black shirt and collar and said he was a Transitional Deacon from the North American College. His name is Michael. Pray for him because it’s not easy being a priest these days.
He told Janet and
We counted after I took the video and they were actually 37 turkeys in our backyard and they stayed for over an hour. This is also our first snowfall of the year here in Michigan.
St. Nicholas brought us a nice gift on his feast day today! Hannah Marie Regan was born last night as our youngest daughter Emily's 4th.
Hannah is our 20th grandchild. Started with just 2 - Janet and I. Then 4 kids made 6, spouses made 10, babies made it 30. Blessed be God!!
A huge parking lot full of Catholics in their cars, not obligated to be there, but profoundly making a statement to the world that our Catholic truth is TRUE and essential. There are four Masses here today with a full parking lot for each. I love being Catholic!
Catholics “are sick of their leaders’ respectful silences and grey-faced unity...shown to serve offending bishops, not the faithful.
What the faithful want is to see lines drawn. They want to see good bishops get angry and complicit bishops get scared. They want names named.”
“The bishops seem to hope that by cutting off their noses, they can keep their heads. It may have worked last time, but the faithful have had enough of group apologies, corporate remorse, and atonement by policy.” My latest for
