So here’s the low down. Proton therapy has worked so well it will be over by next week. Not two weeks. Chemo will continue for maintenance purposes. In other words, we’ve ran out the clock and cancer lost. I felt this coming. I’ve been a mess. My wife is amazing. My kids, rock.

Nine months ago I fell into deep depression and PTSD. Even knowing it was curable wasn’t enough to make me feel better. No parent can stand to see their kid go through this. Felt like this day would never come. But she was tough. Way tougher than me. Here we are and here we go.

Tomorrow is the 24th anniversary of the day I met my wife. We were engaged just about two months later. We are each other’s biggest cheerleader. We have had our ups and downs mainly from things that happened beyond our control. I am very lucky.

This is my brother, Allen. I met him when he was 15 and I was in my mid 20s. We’ve been brothers going on 25 years. Nothing I wouldn’t do for him and him for me. Believe it or not, a few friends haven’t been really cool since I’ve been dealing with Mick’s cancer. But Allen has.

More news. The cancer Mick has is called Ewing’s sarcoma. It affects only about 200 14-20 year olds each year in the US. It is not genetic. It has no known cause. It’s just one of those things. It’s curable. Again, y’all’s support has been awesome. Thank y’all.

Second chemo today. Plan is there will be times when she goes in gets chemo and then go home. Then there will be times where she will go in for five days of chemo. This will go on for about nine months. The cancer is curable but it’s gonna take awhile. 1

I have said before and I will say again, when it comes to Mick’s cancer, my wife does the heavy lifting. I had a really hard time dealing with it in the beginning because I lost my sister to cancer. Now after losing my dad I’m trying to get back to being a good person. Ain’t easy

Ok. So Alix beats cancer Monday and the twins release a single Friday. This week they’ll both be inducted into the National Honor Society on Tuesday and play for a crowd of about 200 folks on Sunday. That’s pretty pretty pretty good. Yeah.
