Why we should be building solar farms instead of drilling for North Sea Gas: 1) Solar is quicker. 3 months to build solar farms vs. 1 year+ for gas drilling 2) Solar is 9 times cheaper than gas 3) Solar will actually lower bills. We don't have enough gas to affect energy prices

Wages ARE NOT growing at record rates. Take into account inflation, and they're barely growing at all. Take a step back, and wages are about £1,000 lower than they were in 2008. The British worker is poorer today than they were over a decade ago

It's absolutely not an economic necessity to raise taxes on hardworking people, it is a political choice My head and shoulders on Sky News P.S. My mum bought me a new turtleneck for Christmas. Thanks, Mum!

'We're looking at price rises of £1500 or more, and on top of that a £600 tax rise. Families are going to struggle to put food on the table and heat their homes. And who doesn't pay this tax? Those who get their income from wealth.' @JeevunSandher on @SkyNews earlier today

Sunak's pledges are completely meaningless: 1. Already know inflation will halve this year. Prices will still be much higher and we'll be much poorer than before 2. How much higher wages are (than 2010) is important question. Not is economy growing from depressed point (1/2)

My generation is already struggling to make ends meet. And now this government now wants to take even more money from hardworking members of my generation while the wealthiest pensioners are left untouched. That's not just wrong, that's absurd Me for @SkyNews

The United Kingdom's decades-long fall in crime actually came to a halt in 2014, when Peter Capaldi became Doctor Who, as dozens of young, weird-looking but in a hot way lost their only role model and turned to knife crime, carjacking and other undesirable activities.

Could this "special thing" be colonialism? No. If it was, it should have happened much earlier under the Caesars, Attila the Hun, Genghis Kahn, the Mughals, the Ottomans (you get the idea) Something else led to sustained economic growth in Western Europe (2/5)

2) We have much higher (energy) inflation than the rest of the G7 Because the government didn't invest in home insulation, cut our gas storage, and didn't have invest in enough renewables/nuclear. On top of that, our Brexit deal is making us poorer (2/4)

We have the highest inflation in the G7 - want to know why? Because we have the highest energy bills And why do we have the highest energy bills? Because this government cut green investment in insulation and renewables Greener is Cheaper

In January I made halving inflation this year my top priority. I did that because it is, without a doubt, the best way to ease the cost of living and give families financial security. Today, we have delivered on that pledge.
