@vanillatary
I don't speak Korean, but RU/CN promote any social rift which cause tensions. In South Korea attempts to improve gender equality is a pressure point, and also already have a 'channer' type young male subculture, easy to radicalize.
@marcocongiu
Yeah, sure. 75% of his army losing a war in Ukraine, forcing him to ask Belarus to join him, and he'd open a second front against two small but high-tech enemies supported by the US?
Riiight.
@AyishaMuhamad
So what you're saying is that muslims in Europe and the US should pay an extra 10-50% income tax for being muslims, and if they refuse they can be beaten, imprisoned or killed?
I don't know, sounds like a bad thing to me.
@dayvehuse
@francska1
Dugin would mix in a lot of religious mysticism, about Russia's Fate and Blood and Destiny and blerrgh, but yeah, pretty much. Nazism which pretends to be anti-nazism.
@KyivIndependent
No. Eff that.
Don't agree to it, Ukraine, it's just a ploy to get time to resupply and rotate troops.
No ceasefire without immediate withdrawal.
@ettingermentum
It's a private company, difficult to short.
I've seen speculation he's intentionally trying to force a bankruptcy so he can reform the company while shedding the mountain of debt. Sucks to be his co-investors if that's the case.
@evanhill
@oryxspioenkop
I'm sorry to hear that.
The Russian atrocities breed hate, so we're going to see more and more revenge killings like this, but I hope Ukraine does its best to investigate and prosecute, because it is very damaging to Ukraine's interests.
@nagolny1977
@bopanc
Either Putin is planning to do something which could draw nuclear retaliation, or he wants the leadership gathered in one place, without prying eyes or possibility of getting away, for a purge.
@Verione420
@niktwick
Donbas didn't start anything, it was invaded by Russia. There has never existed any separatist movement in Donbas, just Russian troops and Russian mercs.
@lionel_trolling
That's still a good day for democracy, if not for that minority. A bad day for democracy is
(30 minutes later)
"the president has declared victory with a lead of 0.4%, and has called for imprisoning the opposition leader for disrespecting the will of the people"
@den_kazansky
@IAPonomarenko
Note that this guy isn't some influencer or talking head, he's in charge of crushing Ukrainian resistance in Donbas.
He's one of the worst war criminals of the entire war.
@oryxspioenkop
I gotta admit that before the invasion I thought the talk about how tanks would get stuck in the mud was mostly bullshirt, but we've definitely seen double digits of stuck vehicles of all types now.
@RALee85
That's all right son, you died for a good cause.
No, wait, you didn't. You died because Putin wants to murder civilians and wipe Ukraine off the map. You were actually a baddie, fighting for a fascist empire.
Bummer.
@AmizadeGzRusia
@DarthPutinKGB
This is occupied Donetsk, within easy artillery reach of the Ukrainian lines, in 2021, after 8 years of imaginary Ukrainian artillery shelling.
@UAWeapons
Police SWAT team perhaps?
Putin seems to be throwing everything from Scooby Doo vans to Syrian jihadists at Ukraine, I wouldn't be surprised if he's also sending OMON SWAT.
@NoahShachtman
The goal is to have his supporter harass and intimidate them, like he always does.
Investigating Trump means living with security and moving the kids to new school to get away from the murder threats -- that's why most investigations into Trump come to nothing.
Sullivan turns out to be even dumber than even I could ever imagine, and let me tell ya, I have a pretty vivid imagination.
Stunning. Biden must remove this clown.
@jacobin
Jacobin evolution:
"Hahaha sleepy Biden thinks Russia will invade Ukraine!"
"Glorious Russia will conquer nazi Ukraine in 72 hours!"
"no, don't give Ukraine more weapons, instead we should help Russia achieve peace!"
Next: "the US tricked Putin to attack, it was a CIA trap!"
@AgnosticHuxley
@SpiritofHo
Russia's even using settlers in Crimea and Donbass, giving the houses and properties of Tatars, and others they expel, to Russian immigrants.
@rachelmetz
@NPR
That will make any company concerned about its reputation and trademark EVEN MORE hesitant to have a presence in this fascist-run shirthole.
@sranysovok
@GravitysRa1nbow
I mean, that's obviously true, and no more surprising that the US doesn't invoke Article 5 when Iran bombs US troops in Iraq.
@DmitryOpines
Also Ukraine never banned russian.
Ukrainian is however banned in russia-occupied territory, and speaking Ukrainian is grounds for arrest, torture, expulsion or murder.
@AmyMcGrathKY
And it'll fall to a democrat to clean up the mess and balance the budget again, like always.
Republicans wreck the economy, democrats fix it. The cycle continues.
@DrewPavlou
Why are so many neo-nazis gay?
Either tiny "abuse me, daddy!" twinks like Fuentes, or cartoonishly macho muscule-bound leather gays like Andrew Tate.
@CartoonsHateHer
Twitter is not reality.
I to this day think Biden's superpower in the 2020 election was that he was not on twitter and had no idea what activist mobs on twitter were currently screaming.

"But... the edge of the metal casing of that traffic light goes into another square, should I click that square too? Or is that wrong?"
"It's just a test, Leon. In answer to your query, click all squares with traffic lights."
@SethAbramson
Sportsfans, I recommend pages 105, 202, 206, 209, 263, 264. The mails between Sater and Cohen explicitly links US-Russia foreign policy to the project, and bless me if there isn't a big fat Donald Trump signature on one of the contracts.
@carlbildt
That's really surprised me: Russia has attacked a number of civilian cargo ships from third party countries like Bangladesh, and no one seems to care.
What really annoys me the most that after over a year of carefully giving exactly as much aid that Ukraine would be able to hold off russia's attack but not defeat russia, the people who designed this plan are now starting to complain about the Ukrainian's fighting ability.
@oryxspioenkop
If we can't make "cope cage" the official name for improvised slat armor, I would also be fine with calling it "emotional support armor".
@KyivIndependent
Russia isn't welding together ISIS-inspired frankenvehicles from parts produced in the 1950's because it's got plenty of gear, that's for sure.
Russia is short on everything except cannon fodder.
Journalists found out that Russia is actively building military plants, in particular, those that manufacture and repair tactical and strategic aircraft, combat helicopters, military drones and guided bombs. russia prepares for a long war

@Tatarigami_UA
Central Asians?
I think I heard something about that last week, people from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan who were lured to Ukraine with promises of construction work, and forced to join the DPR bandits "storm units".
@JoePostingg
The driver drove too fast to stop if someone rushed out between the parked cars. You're supposed to adjust your speed so you're able to stop if that kind of thing happens.
It was the driver's fault.
Macron is a riddle wrapped in an enigma. He started his tenure a russia hawk, then in January 2019 he for seemingly no reason and literally over night flipped to becoming a relentless appeaser. Then in March 2024 he for seemingly no reason flipped back, long may it last.
@FrencLindley
@IlvesToomas
Give Ukraine whatever they ask for. It's so obviously the strategically right thing to do that you have to be a galaxy-brained 'realist' to convince yourself that the West should instead signal weakness by stating all the things it will absolutely not do.
@mikemorris31
@lapatina_
No. The signees agreed to respect Ukraine's and Kazakhstan's sovereignty and 1994 borders; the UK and US has always done so, Russia never has.
