Just dropped off my last batch of petitions. I’m glad to be done. Every year I dream that it’ll be easier. We're getting better and better and had a more consistent approach in 2024 but it was still hard. Good luck to all the Greens gathering across PA on this final weekend.
The worst part of this extremely horrible day is reading the comments that are like "Get fucked Green Party. This is what you get for not reading instructions." We did everything right. We dotted our is and crossed our ts. We checked repeatedly. We got completely screwed here.
@EclecticRadical
Another perspective: I sat in on a private conversation with some Muslim American leaders. They were saying they were sick of being taken for granted and that if they very clearly refused to vote for a genocide, democrats would take notice and change course in the future.
More than half of Pennsylvanians don't want fracking yet 95% of our legislature supports it. Why? Because fracking companies donate to both corporate parties in PA. Massive bipartisan support. Even Pittsburgh where fracking is banned is represented by multiple profracking Dems.
My father was drafted to Vietnam at 18 to fight a senseless war. He succumbed to lung cancer from agent orange our nation sprayed on our troops. The best way to honor him is to stop creating more veterans around the world by cutting off conflict fueling weapons sales/transfers.
This National Vietnam War Veterans Day, I’m reflecting on the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women from the Commonwealth who defended our freedoms in Vietnam.
Our end of the bargain is caring for them here at home—a sacred promise we've got to keep delivering on.
376 and penn ave are gonna be real fucked for a while due to bridge collapse. Now's the time for the busway to SHINE. Only issue is getting from the busway to Squirrel Hill. If we could get higher frequency on the 64 and some bus priority, busway to Sq Hill would be no problem.
I told someone at a party how much money Governor Wolf took from the fracking industry and it was seriously blowing their mind. They were shocked. But he's a democrat! Democrats are gonna frack us to death hand in hand with the republicans they hate so much.
#BanFracking
The sad thing about calling my party and our candidates a grift is that you accidentally imply Muslim voters and many others supporting us are stupid enough to fall for a grift. I don’t think people are stupid. They are tired of our tax dollars being used to commit a genocide.
Dems just filed to kick the Green Party off the ballot in Wisconsin. This is after filing challenges in state after state. I have the same message for everyone who challenges ballot access including the
#NoWarCrimesOnOurDime
petition here in Pittsburgh: Let the people vote!
@Sandernista412
I'll never forget him shaming Jill Stein for running on abolishing student debt in 2016 as if it was a fairy tale policy right before a whole bunch of mainstream candidates ran on it in 2020.
The members of my party are not Russians. We are not conservatives. We're a small grassroots party talking about issues supported by a majority of americans:
#MedicareForAll
.
#GreenNewDeal
. Money out of politics. We are completely self funded. This is what democracy looks like.
In 2016 Fetterman ran anti fracking tv ads. In 2022 he lied straight to our face on a televised debate saying he has always supported fracking. Not a peep from environmental community while the world continues to burn fueled majorly by our petrostate.
In 2016 you made a deal with the devil. You split the progressive vote in half between you and Sestack so the moderate McGinty could win (and then lose to Toomey). You lied in order to split the vote and protect the establishment so your career could advance.
If I were the PA Democratic party I would just not hold up mail-in ballots which I've designed my entire election strategy around for a bullshit lawsuit to kick another party off the ballot.
"The state's Democratic Party remains in court battling to keep the Green Party off the ballot. The pending legal dispute has led to a delay in certification of the November ballot..."
Democrats are delaying ballots being printed & mailed out.

Last night, March 5th, at the Allegheny County Regular Meeting, council member Bob Macey implies suspicion that legal immigrants in America have "a hidden agenda."
A constituent is then detained without explanation to either the council nor the public attending.
Fetterman is mad because our party along with most Green Parties around the world stand strongly against genocide. Green Party US endorsed the Palestinian led call for BDS in 2005 when it was initiated. Palestine solidarity is at our core. Join us:

Had some solid convos with my grandma for the first time since I was 4 yrs old this past weekend! Being able to talk with her is a goal I've had my entire adult life. My mandarin still needs to a ton of work but its a start! Turns out she's mainly interested in my dating life🤣.
Taking opportunity on intersection of

to remind my followers that I am mixed race chinese AND black. Both at the same time. My mom is from taiwan and my dad was a black man from harlem. I am not nor have I EVER been confused about who I am.
Sunday bus service is shit. Recent service cuts are shit. We need more drivers so desperately. PRT needs to jack up the pay and we need a full court press from everybody and anybody in the county to recruit drivers.
#pghtransit
I'm tired of being a second class citizen in this city because I cant afford a car. More than one fifth of our city is carless. Pittsburgh needs to start acting like it.
#pghtransit
Friendly reminder to take the bus if you can. It's better for traffic, for the climate, for your wallet, and more ridership drives better transit. Use google maps to see if a route exists for the trip you're making before defaulting to uber or driving.

You know who DIDN'T cover up the deaths of 15,000 seniors or sexually harass a bunch of women? Multiple time New York gubernatorial candidate

The Green Party has been supportive of a one state solution, BDS, and an end to the occupation long before Stein ran in 2012. Our local Palestine movement has been led by Greens for more than a decade. This is continuing our long held stances not pivoting for the sake of cooption
55 years ago at the age of 18 my father was forced to go to Vietnam. There he was instructed to kill people who look like my mother. 45 years of trauma later he succumbed to lung cancer thanks to our government's decision to spray it's own troops with agent orange.
#NoMoreWar
Everytime I see "demilitarize" and "reimagine" in statements instead of "defund" and "abolish" I'm reminded about how desperately we need a strong Green movement.
52% of Pennsylvanians are against fracking.
Over 90% of Pennsylvania state legislators support fracking.
Why pretend that being pro-fracking is the way to win in PA?
I'm running for
#PAHD23
to
#BanFracking
, because this is a climate emergency.
Allegheny County moved from a CDC COVID transmission level of Substantial to High last week after moving from CDC COVID transmission level of Low to Substantial the week before that.
I was elected by
@pghDSA
as one of our national convention delegates! I'm more than ready for the backlash from haters. Both from DSA people who hate Greens AND Greens who hate DSA. Your hatred only makes me stronger!
PS. Socialism will win.
@justin4OR
This is some oppression Olympics stuff. We don’t like it when others try to play the oppression Olympics, I don’t think we should partake in it either. We Greens care about everyone’s rights whether they are voting for a genocide candidate or not.
Some news: I was elected co-chair of the Green Party of PA! My goals include:
1. Focus on county party organizing
2. Laying the ground work for 2023 local elections around PA
3. Keeping climate justice (
#banfracking
) on the statewide political agenda.
After some Pittsburgh City Council members raised concerns Wednesday about the dwindling number of officers in the city’s police bureau, Mayor Ed Gainey announced two new police academy classes are planned.
Why didn't the Twitter employees go on strike together instead of trickle quitting and watching what they labored to build implode? A thought for everyone who thinks that tech workers don't need unions. Everyone needs a union.
@Pol_Down_South
@sasquatch_god
@PlaceboJones
This was happening in the 2000s. Greens from back then have scary stories about democrats smashing up their offices. I think that was a big reset for the party at least in Wisconsin.
@PedestrianTakes
I really wish AOC chose not to start a war with the Green Party. It’s punching down. Nobody benefits. It’s creating a big divide in the arms embargo/ceasefire movement.
The high I got from nailing my bus transfer perfectly was seriously dampened by needing to pay an extra $1 for using our transit network the way it was designed. Free transfers now!
#pghtransit
Rich Fitzgerald is garbage on fracking, garbage on the horrors at the jail. He is one of the top recipients of fracking money in PA and uses that money to finance the campaigns of dems all around the county. Look at the campaign finance reports and his fingers are EVERYWHERE.
Biking through east liberty, shadyside, and squirrel hill frankly sucks. There's so many bikers yet so little infrastructure. Drivers act like assholes. An absolute embarrassment. I can't recommend anyone who isn't a confident cyclist ride through those neighborhoods.
#bikepgh
Attn Squirrel Hill area people:
"They are doing Pfizer walk ins till 2pm today at JCC, 5738 Darlington in squirrel hill. Come by if you still need, and feel free to share on social media."
All 6 special election candidates today are pro fracking if you want to know where we're at with regards to climate change and air/water pollution with the two major parties. You have a choice between boil the planet quick and boil the planet quick but with more taxes. Lovely.
@TaylorMcFayden
We NEED everybody who is mad about this and who never wants to see this happen again to join the Green Party. The only way to stop this is with power. Sign up here and DM me.
I love the library. It was my babysitter everyday when I was a kid. The library got me through periods of my life where I couldn't afford a computer or the internet. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. (posted from the library)
Really cool to keep finding out that so many older Greens cut their teeth as leaders in the Jesse Jackson campaigns before the Green Party existed. Also members who are long long time activists in and outside of labor. Really proud to be following in their footsteps.
#LetsBuildGP
Hey ya’ll. I want everyone to know that this isn’t true at all. Many of you have been at least hearing about our work from following me so I know you don’t need me to tell you. We keep organizing and we keep building power. We are growing but we aren’t perfect. Onwards.
It’s under discussed how much of a loser the Green Party is. They don’t build power at the local/county/state level. They don’t organize outside the ballot box. They sit on their asses until a presidential year comes around and then complain when no one wants to vote for them.
Long line of residents testifying to the extreme harms of Pennsylvania fracking today while last night major party candidates compete over who supports fracking more and brag about massive expansions of drilling. Feels like a twilight zone episode. Fracking is bad actually.
Don't forget that 25% of Pittsburgh residents don't have a car!! I have had to cancel covid tests I've scheduled because I found out it was drive through only. 👎
Missing my bus stop on McKnight by a single stop and then walking back to it was the closest to dying I've ever felt in Pittsburgh. This could have been me. Fuck the Ross Township police but doubly fuck them for trying to victim blame.
"She was not crossing along a crosswalk, Ross Township police Detective Brian Kohlhepp said."
This is shameful. There are literally no crosswalks anywhere on McKnight road. If you have to cross it by foot you need to cross it outside of a crosswalk.
I'm honored to announce I've received the endorsement of
@sunrisemvmtpgh
, who are building a movement to save our collective future.
My own climate politics awakening came from a youth-led summit, so I know first-hand how critical orgs like this are to driving real change.
@timelywriter
@AP
To set the record straight the Pennsylvania Department of State testified in court that not only was the Green Party of PA filing good to go but that they checked with their higher ups AND their attorneys to make sure. Let me grab the transcripts.
@SocialistMMA
The work we do will continue long past November no matter who wins. The momentum needs to be converted into organized Green parties in counties all across America.
This guy really really wanted to vote for me but their registration didn't go through. Luckily i had a voter registration form to get them registered for next election!
We had a good run. Knew the campaign wasn't strong enough to make much of a dent but we got ppl thinking about the key issues. This race was just the beginning. Local elections next year. Stay tuned. ggwp

I live in PA too. Hey neighbor! Wolf announced the reforms after agreeing to them as part of the settlement of Jill Stein's lawsuit over the recount.
@pghisbeautiful
It's real! The name really foreshadowed who I grew up to become too (bike/ped/ transit evangelist). Shout out to my mom who named me without realizing the combo. She's an immigrant who learned english as a third language!
@marclamonthill
@UberEats
I only order from places that have their own delivery people. Not buying into any of these app scams. They screw customers and restaurants!
Senator Fetterman is doing exactly what is expected after he campaigned as a vocal critic of BDS. I’m not sure why everyone is acting so surprised. If you’re looking for solidarity with Palestine and an end to the occupation you can’t look within the Democratic Party.
Here comes the political suppression. Dem followers, please speak out when this inevitably comes to fruition. Don’t let them bully us because we are smaller and have better policy proposals. This shit is just so wrong and there will be so much money poured into it.
NEW: The DNC is building its first-ever team to counter third-party candidates, hiring
@Lis_Smith
and
@mattcorridoni

Meanwhile, outside groups are preparing for open war with third party candidates like never before.
Apparently President Biden was considering a second missile strike in Syria. We're not even two months in yet. Are you ready to fight the military industrial complex with me yet? If not, what're you waiting for?
"You take bribes, the planet dies". Pennsylvania legislators in both parties take tons and tons of cash and gifts from the fossil fuel industry. They're committed to fracking for 30 more years. They're selling out our collective futures to add to their dragon's hoards today.
🎥 MORE VIDEO FOOTAGE Activists in Pennsylvania disrupt House Session, raining cash down on legislators below, seen here attempting to unfurl a banner reading “You Take Bribes, The Planet Dies!” before Capitol police rip it away.
In 2020 the democratic party claimed in court that almost every signature the Green Party gathered was fraudulent. They said that signatures I personally gathered were forgeries. We had to go through thousands of signatures by hand to prove they were real people. "democracy"
My plan to defend our democracy involves implementing automatic voter registration, establishing early in-person voting, and protecting our vote-by-mail laws in Pennsylvania.
If you're mad about today's garbage antidemocratic supreme court decision, please channel that rage into supporting
@bagdescanning
. He's running strong Green campaign to unseat a Republican he's out fundraising in Trump country. Backed by local dems.
Plugging away on the final weekend. A lot of people already voted and a bunch of them
#VotedForJay
! Days like this make me proud to be a Green!
#PAHD23
This is THE only challenge to any
#pghcitycouncil
seat this Nov. Four incumbents who all endorsed a lame duck mayor and the status quo. This campaign came directly out of Civil Saturdays and
@PghProtests
last year. Doorknocking multiple times every week.
Reminder that the PA Democratic party has made the most bullshit court challenge of 90% of our signatures that me and my people busted our asses for during a global pandemic which they forced us in court to do. The legal fees alone will eat up the PA Green Party's entire budget.
Lots of cool things in Chicago but my favorite part is always riding bikes, busses, and trains everywhere. I know we could have it in Pittsburgh too but it won't be easy. We will need to fight for it.
It’d be one thing to say the Greens/Jill Stein have a great platform but I’m voting for the “lesser evil” but to smear the Green Party and our candidates as grifters is so shameful. We are THE most genuinely earnest grassroots organization in national politics (along with DSA).
Looking for ppl in Bloomfield, North Hills, Dormont, Upper St. Clair, Swissvale (near library), Fox Chapel, and in the service industry who care about justice of every sort and particularly the environment. Starting some casual community groups. Not elections related I promise!
More wildfire smoke is rolling into Pittsburgh. Close your windows! Remember that wildfires are induced by climate change and that climate inaction and outright climate denial are functionally the same.
30 years of public service. No crimes, indictments, investigations or even an inquiry into any Administrative Director, Asst Director, Chief, Asst Chief or Staff Member. For 30 years we ran campaigns, legislative office & administrative office with only one scandal - Bike Lanes.
Not sure how the “Green Party is backed by republicans” lie is supposed to make sense with both Dick and Liz Cheney wholeheartedly backing Harris. People lie with a straight face about our backers while celebrating Republican endorsements left and right. Make it make sense.
It is an honor to have the endorsement of
@Liz_Cheney
.
The vast majority of us agree: We must hold sacred America's fundamental principles. If you share that view—no matter your political party—there is a place for you in this campaign.
It's a real type rope act between constantly pushing
#pghtransit
to be better and constantly telling everybody that
#pghtransit
is nowhere near as bad as ppl complain (mostly ppl who usually drive).
Talking to riders at
#PedalPGH
has really proved that people would ride so so so much more if they were more protected from traffic. People want to ride but feel unsafe mixed with traffic. Good reminder for me since I'm so comfortable mixing it up with cars.
