Asking millionaires what they do is dumb. They got good at something in demand, then doubled down over and over. Think of anyone successful, and that's all they've done. I did healthcare M&A's. You can breed chickens, it makes no difference. Get good and keep doubling down.

I used to try and be someone. I'd compare my success to others, measure against their metrics, and strive to be as good. But "trying" is exhausting. Being yourself is effortless and draws the right people to you. The irony is that makes you more successful.

What upsets you is gold. Outside events used to cause me lots of tension until I realsied if people and things could control how I feel, the problem is me. That process of healing led to enourmous peace. Never avoid what triggers you, deal with why it triggers you instead.

If you don't do the small things, you'll never do the big things. I used to be slack at things like making my bed, shaving, and organising my enviroment until I reaslised that's why I wasn't nailing my ambitions. How you do one thing is how you do everything.

Sales copywriters lie to your face every day about achievement. Humans place high value on immediacy, so they tell you things like "Make millions fast". This is total horse dung though. Anything worthwhile won't happen fast. If you want true success, think 5 year goals.

My hardest lesson was when I had an ego. I thought I was "something" and acted different. Some people rightly thought I was an idiot, but additionally my life sucked because I had to maintain who I thought I was. You'll never be happy with an ego in charge.

I used to get meaning from what I achieved, but that wasn't true meaning. It was external validation in disguise as meaning. If you're hussling hard but feel like there's more to life, you're looking in the wrong place. You won't get true meaning inside from anything outside.

One single quote from Bruce Lee blew up my life: "It's not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential." Scrolling Games Netflix etc. They weren't essential to the life I wanted. So I deleted them. Cut out the junk and you're left with the treasure.

I asked an elite level coach about high performance teams. One thing he said: โ—ฆ Don't focus on outputs (e.g. goals kicked). โ—ฆ Focus on the inputs that create the outputs (e.g. workrate). If you set KPIs on inputs, the outputs (scoreboard) take care of themselves.

When I tried to be a better version of myself I didn't feel good enough. The reason is obvious. If you have to better in the future there's something wrong with you now and you're living through that lense of inadequacy. True fullfilment is realising you're already enough.

I used to stuggle with procrastinated until I realised this. The true enemy isn't procrastination, it's impulsivity. Before we "procrastinate" we impulsively do something off-track. If you reduce your impulsivity you reduce your procrastination.

I used to believe I was dumb. Because everyone in class understood algebra but me. That belief led to meth addiction, then getting 3 degrees. First I lived in the belief, then compensated for it. But both of those suck. The only freedom is to remove your false beliefs.

Imposter syndrome doesn't get better with accolades. I had it when I'd taken a company from broke to $50m and thriving. Why? It could have been luck, my team (not me), market dynamics, etc. You can only defeat imposter syndrome by healing the root cause, not achieving more.

Matter over mind - not mind over matter. Matter is the straight truth - it's how everything is. The meaning we add in our mind is why we suffer. "My boss yelled at me" is really "vocal cords vibrated". We only suffer when we add a human meaning to the true reality.
