Once upon a time there was a girl who was curious about everything. The more she learned, the less she realised she knew. This made her happy, and a lot more humble. The beginning...

@InternetH0F When I was a kid you went out in the morning and came home when it got dark. My Mom used to say, "don't come home unless you're bleeding." Good times. 😎

@DAVIDPLEASESTOP There's a quote that goes something like this: "Once you feel you are avoided by someone, never disturb them again." It applies to people who ghost others.

@lporiginalg Why try and bring everyone down to the same level rather than lift everyone up? If you're not great at maths, it isn't the end of the world. You could be good at something else. Envy and resentment will be the undoing of merit and striving for progress and achievement.

@ThomasSowell To accept that darkness resides in others, you must be able to accept that it is also in you. This is a difficult psychological task for many people.

Be a warrior If your life is not how it should be, strive to not blame others For every time this happens, it takes away your power If you’ve been wronged, and life has not been fair Make those who’ve come before you proud Be a warrior, not a victim #warrior #Thrive

Reflection Beware the perils of self-righteousness. Most of what we judge other people for we've done ourselves, or will do in the future. A sense of moral superiority often stems from feelings of shame and inadequacy. Deal with that instead and self-righteousness wanes.

New isn't always better than old. New ideas can be innovative but also bad and not grounded in reality. Tearing down a beautiful old building to replace it with an ugly new one, not good. Replacing old institutions that work with new untested ideology, really not good.

@MattWalshBlog Therapy works if you decide to change along the way. But that's hard psychological work for most people so they tinker around the edges. What therapy does offer though is someone to listen to you without judgement and for many people that's a powerful thing.

Does it work? Wandering through life, we can be pushed here and there by different ideas, ways of thinking and belief systems. A great question is... does the way we think work for us? Is it common sense? Does it make us feel better or worse about ourselves and the world?

The shadow To cease seeing only the shadow in others, invite your own shadow back into yourself. Embrace and accept all your qualities even while smoothing them out. Disowning things you don't like about yourself, projects them onto others. It happens. #Shadow #projection

Note to self It's important not to let other people's fears and insecurities hold you back from going after what you want. It's even more important not to let your own fears and insecurities dampen your enthusiasm to explore new goals. #personaldevelopment #nolimits

Self-awareness is a superpower. It's a rare trait because it requires looking inward for understanding rather than outward for blame. Most people are uncomfortable doing this because it exposes unpalatable truths about oneself that usually live in the shadows. Seek and find.

Hanging out with mates and talking sh..t is good for your mental health. It costs nothing, goes with any food choices, and anyone can do it. Think it takes us back to our cave dwelling times, sitting around fires telling stories. It's in our DNA.

Reflection for the day It's hard to accept that sometimes unexpected things happen and it's nobody's fault. It's tempting to search for scapegoats but that mindset is a short-term emotional fix for an inability to tolerate uncertainty.

Although there are positives about the internet, social media era, a drawback has been the erosion of a sense of mystery about our fellow humans. Before, through people's actions we came to know their stand on things, now we misunderstand them due to the inelegance of our words.

Happy New Year So long 2022 and hello 2023. May this year be the one where we shrug off a fear of failure, past hurts and outdated ideas about what we can and cannot do. Worry less about what people think of us and more about what we think of ourselves. Be good thinkers.

It's surprising the number of people who feel they have no control over their lives. Of course, we all have responsibilities, and specific limitations due to our personal and economic situations but we decide what we do and how we move through this world. This is empowering.

Everything has a season, and those who farm the land understand this well. There is a right time for everything: to plant seeds, water crops and to harvest. There’s a time to make things happen and a time to wait. Land needs to lie fallow... as we humans need time to restore.

Resist the pull People react differently to stress and uncertainty. It's important to ensure you aren't being influenced by those who have a low tolerance to both. This can manifest as emotional reactivity on social media. Good to stay calm and measured and resist the pull.
