I’ve just been told that after 5 years delivering Melbourne’s weather on
@RossAndJohn
3AW that as of now I’m no longer required...
You can still catch me at 4 and 6 on Melbourne’s 7NEWS
@7NewsMelbourne
4:10pm: Its a beast, and its headed for the city.
This is a huge, dangerous storm cell, with torrential rain likely to cause flash flooding. It may also bring large hail.

I now feel very up to date on all fronts, thanks to the excellent and amusing info from the wonderful
@SharnelleVella
Read through the whole thread, and also note that tomorrow’s 15C: mostly cloudy, a bit of drizzle with long dry breaks...
... and you’re fully up to date!
I have luckily tested negative at the end of a week’s isolation.
Excited to be back on the news on Monday night!
It was incredibly hard getting a rat to get out of this iso, and many of my friends are still very unwell, so best wishes to all of you out there that are struggling
A sad day for 7 News seeing our good friend
@JenniferKeyte
leave. A shock to the team but we wish her all the best. We certainly had some wonderful times! She will be missed.
After three glorious weeks of no makeup I am back at work, glammed up and ready to go! Bring on 2023 and another year of the ups and downs of our weather ☀️🌤☁️🌦🌧⛈❄️💨😁
Excited to let you know I’m part of 7’s brand new show The Great Weekend, first episode coming late February. I’ll be doing all sorts of things from cooking a bbq to playing beach volleyball!
With Jack Riewoldt, Brian Taylor & Brooke Hogan - and I hardly mention the weather! 😱
I’m so excited to share a sneak peek of my soon to be released children’s book ‘Storm’. Such a thrill to see the shiny, finished product! 👏 ⛈️.
Released August 1st.
Stay tuned for updates! ⚡️

First stop on our whirlwind trip around Victoria is Echuca!
I loved being back on the banks of the Murray, and our news broadcast attracted quite a few people by the end!
The announcement of this years Moomba monarchs takes me back to a few years ago when I was lucky enough to be chosen. What a day!
I still wear the crown on occasion 😂
That’s it from me for the year on
@7newsmelbourne
and I leave you with the first look at Christmas Day which is actually quite good!
Currently lots of sunshine and about 24C - enjoy, we’ve certainly earned it with the weather this spring and summer so fa…
This burst of wet weather is easing in the Melbourne area (clearing eastwards). Head to lunch if you've been waiting for it!
But.. there's potential for one more burst of rain mid-afternoon.
Once that has cleared, it's all over and we're back to regular programming
#melbweather
#brrrrrr
its cold outside
#melbourneweather
!
How cold?
We don't know.
The weather station broke at 4:30am so there is no way to tell.
Any other industry would have a tech sorting that out straight away, but not the old and slow weather bureau...
Latest guidance for Melbourne this weekend..
SATURDAY is DRY!
(fairly cloudy & cool, no wet weather at all)
On SUNDAY the majority of models now have either NO wet weather or less than 2mm. A few still hold out with up to 10mm, but nothing heavy here.
My forecast: mostly dry 🙂
Ugh…
Nearly 11pm and 26C feels like 30C 🥵 thanks to high humidity and no wind.
But it’s the last night of it, a gusty cool change arrives Tuesday afternoon.
This time tomorrow night 17C should feel like just 12C!
Melbourne area heading into lull in the rain over next few hours (on & off rain, rather than steady).
Then it rapidly increases late afternoon/early evening, when there is the risk of flash flooding.
If you need to head out, better at 2pm rather than 6pm.
We have an absolutely glorious day ahead in Melbourne!
-Bright sunshine
-Light winds
-24C
Enjoy!
And Cup Day is almost hot, reaching 30C in the sunshine.
You normally see me at the end of the day, but this morning I was up bright and early to talk heat vs cold on Sunrise and the Morning Show. Early bird catches the worm… but I may need a nap soon 😴
Don’t forget Daylight Savings begins tomorrow. Clocks go forward an hour.

on Sunday -
Sunrise: 6:53am
Sunset: 7:26pm
(Easy to remember which way as we “spring forward” and “fall [autumn] back”)
12pm: “The main tsunami waves have now passed all expected VICTORIA locations.
Small unusual waves may continue but are NO LONGER expected to be dangerous.
TSUNAMI WARNINGS for VICTORIA are therefore CANCELLED.”
I'm on the mend after a bout of covid! Looking forward to being back on 7NEWS later today 😀
Enjoy today's pleasant weather in Melbourne.. we have a cold outbreak mid week 🥶

20C at 11pm - unseasonably warm for this time of year.
Thanks to gusty northerly winds that continue all night and could be damaging (the airport has hit 96km/h).
Winds ease in Melbourne around midday, with a brief shower & plummeting temperatures (a cold front passing through)
Thank you for all the lovely messages! I'll be back on 7NEWS mid-January.
If you want weather data to help plan your day, head to . That has hour by hour details - but do remember its straight model data, not a curated forecast from me.
See you in 2020!!
So happy to be mentoring georgiapatrikioss AFLW extraordinaire from the mighty stkildafcw!
We set some goals for the next year and I’m really excited to see if my experience can help Georgia achieve all her goals off field, while she kicks goals on field 💥
Whoops.. I was too busy enjoying my hour of this Spring weather to write a forecast about it!
All dry, lots of sunshine, 15C.
N winds become breezy this afternoon.
10pm: Here it comes…
Wet in
#Melbourne
for the next few hours with thunderstorms and steady rain.
Clear by dawn after 10-30mm.
Lots of ☀️ on Thursday.
🌧 for much of Friday & Saturday.
